Kissing Fish, Catching Crab & Spotting Grey Whales in the Pacific Ocean - Newport, Oregon
Marine Discovery Tours in Newport, Oregon took us out on their boat for a morning of fun! The kids loved being out on the water and participating in the hands on activities. The tour guide and captain were amazing, interacting with the kids and teaching them so much along the way. From catching crab, to spotting whales, to learning what lives in the water - this was an action packed 2 hour cruise we will never forget! Thank you Marine Discovery Tours for the most amazing experience on the Oregon coast!

[OASIS Ep. 3] R/V Atlantis Tour in Newport Oregon
Haley and Trish flew out to Oregon to load the rest of the OASIS gear onto the R/V Atlantis while she was docked in Newport. While there, we took a tour of the ship and checked out where we will be living for 30 days on our OASIS Expedition. We also said hello to the Alvin submarine, which will be using to collect samples from ~2500 m (~1.5 MILES) deep in the ocean.

Eighty foot Research vessel, Acona, operated by the Oregon State University, engaged in oceanographic research
Oregon State University (OSU) Department of Oceanography's 80-foot research vessel, R/V Acona, seen in waters off Newport, Oregon, United States. Using a boom on the foredeck, the crew lowers a container, takes a water sample and retrieves it. (Note: Reportedly, one of the two persons seen near the end of the footage may be Hugh Dobson, a technician from BC Canada, who worked for OSU Professor Kilho Park.) One of the two persons near the end of the footage looks like Hugh Dobson who was a technician from BC Canada who came to OSU to work for Professor Kilho Park (this insert provided by Iver Duedall, OSU graduate student 1963-66; spent time on Acona on cruises--most of the time I was seasick) Location: Newport Oregon United States. Date: 1963.

Our First Camping trip in Ocean Shores | ZachLiviTV
February 24-27, 2017 we went camping over the weekend for the first time using our Travel Trailer. We had a blast and we where right on the Ocean! It smelt so fresh. It sucked to go back to the city. We wanted to stay longer. We will be back for sure. We stayed at the Quinalt Marina and RV Park and the owner is the nicest guy. The kids found shells and played in the sand. It was pretty cold in the mornings but warmed up to a cool 47 by mid day.
