A Sailor's Lake Winnipeg
A Sailor’s Lake Winnipeg
By Craig Mackenzie
Lake Winnipeg is 260 miles from north to south and varies from 20 to sixty miles across. It is comprised of a northern basin and a southern basin connected by the narrows. The eastern shoreline is predominantly Canadian Shield while the western shoreline is Manitoba Lowlands. Needless to say, lake is a dominant feature of the topography of central Canada and the province of Manitoba.
The lake can be very treacherous for mariners because of the changeable weather and the rocky and shallow nature of much of the coastal areas. Yet with the prepared sailor can enjoy a wonderful sailing adventure on this “Sea Lake”.
This video is comprised of photos acquired while cruising Lake Winnipeg with the Silver Harbour Sailing Club over the last ten years. It is an exposition of the natural beauty of the lake from the perspective of a sailor.

Squeaky Otis Gen2 Elevator - Mariners Row Parking Garage - Newport News, VA
This is a city owned parking garage at the end of a very nice part of Newport News. I actually used to live in a subdivision about five minutes away for a brief time during my youth, and had no idea any of this was back here.

11 Days Touring The Pacific Northwest
Come along with me for an 11-day vacation in the Pacific Northwest!
We visit Coeur d'Alene, Idaho... Seattle, Washington... Vancouver, British Columbia... and the Silver Mountain resort in Kellogg, Idaho. I guess I could call this video Planes, Trains, & Automobiles... because I travel in all three of them at different points of this big adventure. It's kind of funny that during this one 11-day vacation, I managed to travel on a jet airplane, a turboprop airplane, a diesel locomotive, a steam locomotive, and I managed to get a look at three cruise ships, too.
The purpose of the trip was to visit with my relatives in the Pacific Northwest... including my sister, brother-in-law, niece, nephew, and more. We had a lot of fun during our get-together, and it was fun for me to experience some of the area's biggest tourist attractions... about a year in advance of my planned move up there.
Subscribe to my YouTube channel if you like this type of travel video... and feel free to use the services of my travel agent, Caitlin Gallagher, if you're interested in setting up some kind of big adventure of your own. You'll find Caitlin at ambrentravel.com
