The super friendly museum collections manager gave my hostel guest and me a personal tour of the permanent colection.
When we came to the gong from Indonesia, he rang it for us. It had a very cool sound.
This is another example of why I like this country. In most museums I have been to, this would never happen

The urban core of Old Kotor is a network of streets produced by Roman urban architecture. It is a unique maze of streets, turning and ending in places where no one would ever expect.
The Maritime Museum of Montenegro in Kotor has grown out of the collection founded by the Boka Marine Fraternity, around the year 1880 and opened to public in 1900.The Maritime Museum of Montenegro in Kotor has grown out of the collection founded by the Boka Marine Fraternity, around the year 1880 and opened to public in 1900.In the period from 1982 to 1984, conservation and restoration works were finished .
Kotor is also home to numerous cafés, bars, restaurants and pubs.

Kotor is a fortified town on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast, in a bay near the limestone cliffs of Mt. Lovćen. Characterized by winding streets and squares, its medieval old town has several Romanesque churches, including Kotor Cathedral. It's also home to the Maritime Museum, which explores local seafaring history. Sveti Đorđe, one of 2 tiny islands off the ancient town of Perast, features a centuries-old church.

Kotor - the culture center of Montenegro
Kotor - a typical medieval town with narrow streets and stone buildings. In Kotor houses the Maritime Museum of Montenegro, whose exhibition tells about the development of navigation in the Boka Kotorska throughout its history. Here you can see portraits of sailors and ship models, interior of the captain's homes and the trophy collection of weapons seized in sea battles and old maps of the Adriatic Sea.
For centuries, the city is the headquarters of the ancient sea of fraternity Bokelska mornaritsa (Montenegro - Bokeljska mornarica) - professional society sailors Bay of Kotor, which since 1859 operates as a memorial Organization for keeping traditions. Each year the sailors organize the festival Bokelska night.
Since 1997, the city has a non-governmental cultural organization «EXPEDITIO».
Every year that suit a variety of cultural festivals, such as:

It's the 3rd day, Kotor, Montenegro, in Mediterranean Cruise by Royal Princess Sept. 2016. Kotor has registered on UNESCO's World Heritage. The medieval Old Town, Koror fortress, has lovely Romanesque Churches and Maritime Museum. St. Tryphon Cathedral is famous for Romanesque and Byzantine architecture.

The Day of Town Kotor was celebrated in St. Tryphon's Cathedral (1166 AD), where usually foreigners must pay entrance fee, but today it was open for everybody.

We had an amazing time while staying in the most beautiful spot in Perast, Montenegro. The Kotor bay is absolutely breath taking. There's no better way to see the fiords than to spend the day riding around the Kotor bay on our own private boat!

Our „Hero“ – Submarine in Porto Montenegro and unique Museum of maritime heritage
I am history professor, submarine „Hero“ is one of the most interesting things in marina Porto Montenegro. Museum is a special kind of museum, it is not just a maritime museum, it is also museum of industrial heritage. Some of the artefact in the museum is realy unique in the world.
I want to call all turist to come here and visit museum. I'm sure that they will leave happy, they will learn something new.
