We will show you that there is more to this country by visiting an amazingly beautiful park in downtown Split, Marjan Park, which has a 360 degree view of the entire city and ocean. We then take you to the Fortress of Klis which is over 2000 years old and used as one of the sets for the show Game of Thrones.

Split In Your Pocket - Marjan Peninsula & Telegrin
Split In Your Pocket editor Kristina Kovač climbs up Telegrin hill on Marjan peninsula. When ready to escape the hustle and bustle of Croatia's second city, visitors can take a pleasant, ten-minute walk through Veli Varoš up to the wooded heights of the Marjan peninsula, a safe-haven of paved paths (suitable for walking or biking), fragrant forests and beaches. An afternoon of sightseeing, swimming or walking should be started just like the locals would, with a drink at Café Vidilica, which overlooks the port. The peninsula is home to several points of interest, including the remains of a 16th-century Jewish cemetery, hermitages and chapels from the 13th and 14th centuries. Eventually, a set of steps leads up to Telegrin which, at 178m, is the highest point on the peninsula. The islands of Brač, Hvar and Šolta can be seen and, on particularly clear days, you can see as far as the island of Vis.

HIKING Marjan Hill & Exploring DAENARYS'S DRAGONS' DUNGEON in Split, Croatia // 077
I spent an awesome day hiking in Marjan Hill in Split, Croatia. This is a small peninsula and park adjacent to the Old Town of Split. It's steep, but it's beautiful, even more so when you get off the path and climb through the trees. The beaches were stunning. I mean, honestly, today I saw the most beautiful place I've ever seen.
Then, I strolled through Diocletian's Palace in Split's Old Town and found the place where Daenarys keeps her dragons! Daenary's Dragons' Dungeon was a pretty cool sight, even if it took a little imagination to erase the vendors and kitty-posters!

A 4 day trip in Split, exploring the main city centre.
Marjan - this is the best place you can come to get a great view of the city. The steps about 10 minutes to walk up but it is definitely worth it!
Diocletian's Palace - An incredible area which has been modernised by various shops, cafe's and market stalls. Climbing up the bell tower is also another great experience if you want to see a view of the city. The bell tower costs around 60 Kuna (£7) per person.
