Knutsford is a town in Cheshire, England, 14 miles south-west of Manchester and 9 miles north-west of Macclesfield. Located near Cheshire's Golden Triangle and on the Cheshire Plain between the Peak District to the east and the Welsh mountains to the west, Knutsford and its surrounding villages are affluent and sought-after residential areas, with properties rated as some of the most expensive outside of London. Knutsford is a dormitory town for people working in Manchester and Liverpool. Residents include actress Barbara Knox and comedienne Sarah Millican; it is an area particularly popular among footballers, being home to Peter Crouch, Sam Ricketts, Michael Jacobs and Phil Jagielka.
Knutsford's main town centre streets, Princess Street (also known locally as Top Street) and King Street lower down (also known as Bottom Street), form the hub of the town. At one end of the narrow King Street is an entrance to Tatton Park. The Tatton estate was home to the Egerton family, and has given its name to Tatton parliamentary constituency, which includes the neighbouring communities of Alderley Edge and Wilmslow.
Knutsford has excellent access to the motorway network, with junctions to the M6 (Junction 19) and M56 (Junction 7) motorways. Knutsford is served by Knutsford railway station which is situated on the Mid-Cheshire Line running from Chester to Manchester (via Altrincham). Knutsford is not well served by buses. The only routes with a regular service are Knutsford to Altrincham via Wilmslow (which runs half-hourly) and the Knutsford Town Circular (which runs up to half-hourly).
Knutsford town centre has several restaurants and pubs, coffee shops, boutiques, antique shops and art galleries. Knutsford has a medium-sized supermarket, Booths, also an Aldi, a Little Waitrose, a Sainsbury's Local, and two Co-Op stores (one on Princess Street and one on Parkgate Lane).
Knutsford has two Anglican churches, St John the Baptist and St Cross; a Roman Catholic church, St Vincent's; a Methodist church, a Unitarian church and a Gospel church. Knutsford is located in the Church of England Diocese of Chester and in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Shrewsbury.

Places to see in ( Hale - UK )
Hale is a village and electoral ward within the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, in Greater Manchester, England. The population of the village taken at the 2011 Census was 15,315. It is contiguous with the southeast of Altrincham, about 9 mi (14 km) southwest of the city of Manchester.
The earliest documented reference to Hale is in the Domesday Book of 1086, although the name of the settlement is probably as old as 7th or 8th century. The area was mostly agricultural. Hale grew in the Middle Ages to the point when Hale Barns was established as a separate settlement. Hale was formerly in Cheshire.
Hale, Bowdon and Hale Barns together are regarded as the wealthiest areas in Greater Manchester, and similarly wealthy to Cheshire Golden Triangle towns Wilmslow, Alderley Edge and Prestbury. These towns and the area between them contain some of the most expensive properties in England outside London.
The toponym Hale derives from the Old English halh, meaning a nook or shelter, as supported by the surrounding area that has natural features that provide shelter. The name Hale occurs in a number of places throughout Britain. The oldest record of Hale is in the Domesday Book of 1086. However, what little evidence there is – in the form of etymology and a few surviving records of events in the area – points to Saxons settling the area in the 7th century.
Hale is southeast of Altrincham with the villages of Hale Barns and Bowdon to the east and west respectively. Hale is bounded by the River Bollin to the south and Altrincham Golf Course to the north. The local geology consists of sand and gravel deposited in the last ice age. In common with much of Cheshire, the bedrock of Hale is mainly sandstone.
Hale is near the transport interchange in Altrincham and has regular bus services to Hale and Hale Barns. The village is also west of Manchester Airport. Hale railway station, in the centre of Hale, is on the Mid-Cheshire Line between Chester and Manchester.
Royd House is situated on Hale Road. The house was designed by architect Edgar Wood and built for himself as his home. It is regarded as one of the most advanced examples of early-20th century domestic architecture and is referenced in a number of architectural digests. Royd House is a Grade I listed building.
Hale Library is situated in Leigh Road. The centre of Hale village has a bowling green. A crown green bowling green is attached the Bull's Head public house in Hale Barns. There are many parks, including Stamford Park named after Earl of Stamford, who lived at Dunham Massey.

Castlefield Artisan Market
Manchester's Market by the Canal
Once at the heart of Manchester's industrial revolution and latterly the centre of the city's renaissance as a leisure destination, Castlefield has always been a people magnet. Crossed by canals and interrupted by the occasional chug of a narrow boat, it's the perfect spot for a monthly market.
A stretch of the canal bank, usually reserved as a car park for weekday workers, can be found lined with market stalls, with craft traders sharing space with a wide range of food producers. First impressions reveal a rarity in urban markets -- it's one that you could do nearly your entire weekly shop at, presenting as it does a range of fresh vegetables, locally made bread, meats, pies, pastries and soups.
It's no ordinary shopping experience, and Paul's Smalls is one such stall that brings an innovative spin on tried and tested recipes to make it more memorable. Empanadas are a smaller, South American version of our bulky pasties, perhaps suited to warmer climates where baked stodge is less welcome. Paul, who travelled from Sale only a few miles down the road combines the delicacy of smaller pastries with robust fillings like 'Pigs 'n' Blankets' (sausage, bacon and caramelised onion chutney) and a good old 'Beef and Cheshire Ale'.
Exotic flavours, such as 'Marrakesh Lamb Express' are available too, so taking advantage of his pick n' mix offers means combining something tried and tested with an abundance of new and interesting flavours.
The Great North Pie Company does what it says on the tin. Boldly holding business together under grey (summer) skies, trading in hearty looking pies made in the region to exacting specifications. Beautifully, and simply, presented, proprietor and baker Neil Broomfield need do no more than show of the golden brown wares and people gather round to inspect them. Pulling in ingredients from around the region, including Macclesfield's ales for his 'Steak and Red Willow Ale' pie, there are no surprises in these pies, just great quality fillings.
The market's organiser's Asif and Jodie Farakhan, trade on the market themselves, bringing home made curries to Manchester shoppers, while international flavours can also be found on stalls selling contemporary Greek cuisine, Italian deli foods and prepared meals and more Indian street food with Atam's samosas and kebabs.
Like many of Manchester's markets, traders from further a field make short journeys to take advantage of the city centre trade, and Blackburn's Foodie Pots bring with them a range of home-made soups that are lovingly made from local produce in Lancashire. Flavours such as Mexican Bean make for a warming treat on a cold day, with hot samples available to all and cold pots of each flavour available to take home for reheating. To go with the soup. Of Crust and Crumb Artisan Bakery, from Delph, were present with an array of perfectly formed loaves.
This monthly market, taking place on the first Sunday of every month, is one of the best in town. Catch it on a day when the weather is hospitable and enjoy a drink outdoors while considering your day's purchases.

Luke Shaw’s mansion in Cheshire
Luke Shaw’s mansion in Cheshire - For Sale. Is he leaving Manchester United ?
Defender's home in Wilmslow is on the market which means he may be on his way out of Old Trafford
Luke Shaw’s £2.6m Cheshire mansion has been put up for sale, fuelling speculation the defender is on his way out of Manchester United.
The Cheshire mansion has five bedrooms and a cinema room
The indoor pool area in the mansion, which also has a gym and a steam room
“We would have killed our stability with financial fair play and killed the stability in our dressing room.
“When you pay that much to a 19-year-old kid – a good player, fantastic player – but when you pay that amount of money, the next day, we would have had players knocking on our door.
“They would have been saying, ‘How is it possible I play 200 games for this club, won this and that, yet a 19-year-old comes here and gets more money than I get?”
Shaw selling the house has fuelled speculation that he is leaving Manchester United

Shaw has been working his way back to full fitness following a broken leg
The luxury five-bedroom house in Wilmslow also features seven bathrooms, an indoor pool with a steam room and gym as well as a cinema.
The mansion is a short walk from the town centre and also down the road from Alderley Edge, where United and Manchester City players are often seen spending some down time.

Crossbow & Knifeman Manchester (U.K)
On Thursday 27th of July 2017, Tib Street, Manchester, England, U.K. Police have Tasered a masked man who was carrying a stolen crossbow & a knife.
Officers swooped on Tib Street in the city centre around 2.30pm today.
The 30-year-old man was first brought down by a police dog before he was Tasered by officers as he ran towards a crowd of panicked people.
A police cordon has been put in place around a bag the man was carrying.
Zeeshan Saddiquei, 26, manager at Ridelow bicycle store on Church Street, told MailOnline the man stole a crossbow from his shop.
He said: 'The man came into the shop & he started pulling things from the wall. There was a crossbow there & he took his knife out & cut it off.
'I phoned my colleague & told him to come downstairs but the man then asked me where the bows for the crossbow were. I said I didn't have them.
'He started walking out the shop & I said will you pay for that? He then showed me the knife & left the shop, so I started following him. My boss was calling me, asking me to come back.'
Mr Saddiquei, who has worked at the store for five years, said: 'I didn't want to leave him, I wanted to see where he was going as he could be dangerous to the public. I was on the phone to the police as I was chasing him.
'He told me to back off & fuck off & he was acting aggressively but I wasn't listening to what he was saying, I was just looking at his hand & body. I wasn't scared at the time.
'As I was chasing him, his knife fell from his pocket. He picked it up & said don't follow me & moved towards me. He then walked off again but I didn't want to let him go. I was on the phone to police for about 10 to 15 minutes. I'm happy they found him.
'I wasn't thinking at the time, but there were kids and members of the public around & I was worried he might do something with the knife.'
Keith Marland, who witnessed the incident, told the Manchester Evening News: 'I saw armed police driving past, then about six or seven police Range Rovers went passed.
'A few of them then jumped out of the cars.
The man with a crossbow was running towards us, a police dog brought him to the ground, but he got up again & the police dog was hanging onto his arm.
'He walked to the other side of the road. He walked into the front of a police car but carried on.
'The man was then Tasered, then I heard a bang & he fell to the floor. Police then disarmed him of his cross bow & took his mask off.
'They were shouting for everyone to move away.'
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: 'Shortly after 2.30pm police were called to Tib Street in Manchester City Centre to reports that a man was walking around with a large crossbow & a knife.
'Armed officers attended & a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of carrying offensive weapons.
'During the incident the man suffered an injury to his hand. He has been taken to hospital for treatment.
'A police cordon has now been put in place around a bag that the man was carrying.
'During the detainment, a Taser and a baton launcher was used by officers.
As is standard practice, an automatic referral to GMP's Professional Standards Branch & the IPCC has been made.'
Great Ancoats Street is still blocked off by police in the east direction.
