JAMESON - is a Single distillery Irish whiskey produced by a division of the French distiller Pernod Ricard. Jameson is similar in its adherence to the single distillery principle to the single malt tradition, but Jameson combines malted barley with unmalted or green barley. The most famous component within Jameson is the Pure Pot Still distilling tradition.
The company was established in 1780 when John Jameson established the Bow Street Distillery in Dublin. Jameson was Scottish, a lawyer from Alloa who had married Margaret Haig, a sister of the brothers who founded the main Haig Scotch whisky firms, and related to the Steins, a Scottish distilling family with interests in Dublin. Originally one of the six main Dublin Whiskeys, Jameson is now distilled in Cork, although vatting still takes place in Dublin. With annual sales of over 31 million bottles, Jameson is by far the best selling Irish whiskey in the world, as it has been internationally since the early 19th century when John Jameson along with his son (also named John) was producing more than a million gallons annually.

Midleton Very Rare: An Irish Whiskey Fit For A Manor
In 1825, three Murphy brothers purchased an old woolen mills in Midleton in County Cork and converted it into a distillery on the banks of the Dungourney River…a distillery that over the past 200 years has evolved into one of the world’s greatest whiskey distilleries. 9 years later in 1834 and 70 miles away to the north west, construction was also underway in the village of Adare in Co. Limerick as the 2nd earl of Dunraven began converting an old Georgian house on the Maigue River into what has today become one of the world’s greatest manor houses and hotels - Adare Manor.
In this episode of Stories and Sips I’ll share the story of how these two great houses - one a whiskey house and the other a house of hospitality have come together to produce something amazing.
----
Stories & Sips exists to introduce current and potential whiskey fans in the United States to the real Ireland and its incredible Irish whiskeys, converting bourbon, scotch and rye drinkers to the often under-appreciated gold that is Irish whiskey.
Our vision is for Ireland to become the world leader in whiskey tourism. The Irish whiskey product has reached an enviable level of quality and is earning deserved worldwide attention. The growth in the number of distilleries and visitor centers offers Ireland a unique opportunity to create a whiskey tourism industry that is the envy of whiskey-producing countries around the world. At Stories & Sips, we intend to do our part.
We will do this by connecting fans emotionally to Ireland and its whiskeys. Through stories, in-person whiskey tastings and trips to Ireland, we’ll help whiskey fans engage deeply with the people and product of our country so that they become lifelong fans, consumers and evangelists.

**A Whisk(e)y school?
Yup. Here are a few things we believe.
** You don’t have to be a snob to appreciate and love great whiskey.
Whisky and Whiskey (it depends on where it’s from) have been an important part of cultures around the world from time immemorial. Whiskey is a part of the very fabric of Western society, and in most places, is as common and accessible as beer.
Like Jazz and wine, snobs have predictably hijacked whiskey appreciation, spoiling our natural, common connection with it and creating a false dichotomy of “good whiskey” and “bad whiskey.”
It’s time to break through the emotional bias with facts and science. That’s what this school is about.
** The only valid definition of “good” whiskey is “whiskey you like to drink.”
Learning how to share your love of whiskey in a way that connects people to the history and the story has more to do with public speaking and storytelling than it does with facts and tests.
The best way to learn about whiskey and share that love is to drink whiskey and talk about it with friends. Study the history, find the stories, and discover the culture and the methods that have been developed over hundreds of years. That’s what you’ll do when you attend The Whisk(e)y Marketing School.
** You don’t need a marketing degree to learn how to share your love of whiskey with the world.
There's an old saying, In business, it's not what you know... It's who you know.
Regardless the industry you're in, most people are clumsy and ineffective when it comes to networking because they ignore a very important rule - Relationship First, Business Second.
There's a tremendous amount of curiosity about Whisk(e)y today. It's a great excuse for you to gather a group of people who want to have fun and learn something new. The Whisk(e)y School teaches you how to tap into that curiosity, and share your love of whisk(e)y in an unpretentious way. You're demonstrating knowledge, expertise, and an engaging personality - things valued by every gatekeeper, in every industry.
Or would you rather hand out business cards and cross your fingers?

4 Hour Non-Stop Spinathon For Aimee Foley which took place on October 11th at Market Green Midleton
Hi Everyone!
The Challenge:
I am currently training with Results Fitness Midleton & The Midleton Park Hotel for a Spinathon Challenge on October 11th in the Market Green Shopping Centre.
I will spend 4 hours spinning (without getting off the bike) whilst wearing a fire mans uniform weighing 32 pounds.
The Cause:
I have set myself this challenge for Aimee Foley. All donations & monies collected will enable Aimee to travel & stay in London so she can access expert care & services for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome
Amy's Treatment Fund:
Ireland Wake Up & See The Stripes
Aimee is a bright & positive 27 year old woman from Midleton Co Cork whom is battling a chronic & incurable illness known as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Aimee has to seek expert care & services in London for multiple organ complications. In 2013 she publically appealed to the Irish Government & HSE for the E112 Scheme to fund her care & was infamously refused due administrative disagreements. Aimee soley relies on fundraising to continue her care in the UK.
My Motivation:
I want to do my best for Aimee & help her to reach remission. All Aimee wishes is to be able to slow down the condition & the only way is to have access to the Hypermobility Unit in St John's & St Elizabeth's Hospital in London. I know Aimee is working really hard every day just to get about day to day so I hope everyone supports me on this challenge & Aimee on her journey to remission.
What to expect:
There will loads of fun on the day. DJ Killian will play for the duration of the spinning event & Billie Jean Rhythm Dance Co will also perform. Bag packing will also take place at Tesco Supermarket. Face painting with Gary Sweeney will be available for the kids & much more..
********SPECIAL SURPRISE GUESTS********!!!!!!!!
Sincerest Thanks,
Mark O'Sullivan

Whiskey Bonding And The Birth Of Redbreast & Green Spot Irish Whiskeys
Whiskey Bonding And The Birth Of Redbreast & Green Spot Irish Whiskeys
If you were a visitor to Ireland 60 years ago (which in itself would have been a rare thing) and you wanted a bottle of whiskey, if you had gone to the distillery to find it in a gift shop or for sale there, you’d have been laughed at.
Not only was there no real tourism to Ireland at the time, there were certainly no gift shops in distilleries and though they might have produced the whiskey, they didn’t sell it to customers. In this video I’m going to explain why.
