Marmala Waterfall
Marmala waterfall lies a few kilometres away from Erattupetta, in Kottayam district, Kerala, India inside a private estate[1], [2]. It is exactly 7 km from Teekoy rubber estate. From here a private vehicle can take you further 2 km after which the road is not motorable. Only a four-wheel drive (4x4) Jeep can go through the narrow path, often passing over the uneven rocky terrain where no car would go. Even the jeep will not take you to the bottom of the falls. To reach the falls one has to get off the jeep and trek through the estate over the slippery rocky path. The waterfall is about 60 metres in height, falling into a 12-meter deep pool and joins the River Teekoy way down.

First of all, I would like give you all a heads up before you watch the video, I'm sorry about the quality in the beginning because I'm still trying to figure out how the GoPro works.
So this is one of the short unexpected trips I've made this month. And yes, I was literally awesomestruck when I saw the place. Even though the place left me injured, I don't regret it at all.

Now let me tell you something about the place. If you're hungry for a weekend escape or lets say, for an adventure, I would totally recommend checking this place out because this place is an absolute gem. And for those staying in kochi, It's not a long trip either. It's a definite getaway into the nature.
Things to watch : Rocks are slippery AF if you're planning to take a dip (from experiences). It's deep af, so if you're not good at swimming, don't even try. Narrow road to the waterfall and sides are steep, so make sure you sound horn on turns. And I guess that's all!!

Marmala Waterfall is situated well inside the forest near Eraattupetta, Kottyam District in KERALA. The waterfall is reachable by foot and around 2km away from the main road. The Waterfall is active throughout the year and the best time to visit this place is December to March. Its a good place for some adventurous swimming. try to avoid swimming in monsoon season as the rapids are very strong that time. With help of my Dji Mavic Pro drone i tried to capture some beauty of the waterfall and the wildlife around it.

Illickal Kallu is a major attraction in Moonnilavu village of Meenachil taluk in the Kottayam district of Kerala, India. Situated 6000 feet avove sea level, it is also one of the highest peaks of the Western ghats. illickal Kallu is a rock situated avove illickal Mala. What makes this rock unique is that half of the rock has fallen off, and only the other half remains. The nearest town to this spot is Teekoy. Numerous mountain streams in this peak, flow down to form the Meeachil Rive. Tourists must trek more than1 km to reach the summit of the peak.
Illikkal Kallu comprises three hills, each rising to 4000ft avove sea level.Each of the hills has a peculiar shape. One of them resembles a mushroom , which is why it is known as Kuda Kallu (umbrella-shaped rock.) The beauty and the landscape of illikkal kallu is similar to the pillar rocks in Kodaikanal. It is said that the medicinal herb Neela Koduveli grows here. This blue flower is also believed to possess supernatural powers, which could increase wealh and ensure a rich harvest. The second hill has a small hunch on the sides and is therefore referred to aa Koonu Kallu (hunch back rock) Across this rock is a 1/2-foot wide bridge called Narakapalam (bridge to hell).
From the hilltops, the Arabian Sea cna be seen in the over the horizon as a thin blue stroke. The view of the sunset from above the peak on the evening of a full moon day can be sensational the moon can be seen rising up like another sun, as the orange sun goes down.

2. KATTIKAYAM WATERFALLS
is very near to the place at a distance not more than 2 kilometers from Illikkal Kallu. A trek of about 2 km to the falls is indeed a mesmerizing experience. Thought there are no risks in visiting this waterfalls, visitors need to take care of slippery rocks.
3. ILAVEEZHAPOONCHIRA
Is another nearby attraction which is only 7 kilometers away from Illikkal Kallu. The road to Ilaveezhapoonchira is not paved and can be considered for an off road adventure. Ilaveezhapoonchira means Valley where leaves don't falls The highest point is known as Kannadipara. Valley of this rocky mountain reflects the morning sun with mirror-like perfection. Pazhakakanam plateau with bamboo groves. meadows and wild flowers nourished by Thodupuzha river and Kazhukankulimali waterfalls is nearby. During monsoons, the valley fills up to form a scenic landscape that attracts tourists from all around Kerala.
4. VAGAMON
Another nearby attraction, a hill station and one of its kind in kerala. National Geographic Traveler has listed Vagamon on their directory of the 50 most attractive places to visit in India

Maramala waterfall is situated in Kottayam district. It lies at a distance of 7 kms from Teekoy rubber estate. In order to reach the waterfalls, one has to trek from Teekoy. This waterfall falls from a height of 60 m and then joins the Teekoy River after flowing for about 200 m. Due to the water gushing from this falls, a depth of 12 m has formed between the rocks. The scenic beauty is awesome and it is a must visit spot whenever you visit Vagamon.
