5 Minutes by Maronti Beach, Ischia, Italy VLOG 이탈리아 이스키아섬 마론티 해변에서의 5분
Here's peaceful and vibrant 5 minutes by Spiaggia dei Maronti on Ischia island, Italy.
It was my first time on this island but it certainly won't be my last.
Not as recognized as the glamorous Positano or Capri but so clean and beautiful.

Der Maronti Strand ein heißer Traum auf Ischia
T R A N S L A T O R click here

Ischia's beaches are famous: long stretches of sand between blue sea and the green hills of the interior. They are also very popular, and in high summer some become crowded masses of sunburnt humanity where strangers lie on paid-for sunbeds two feet from each other. For a bit more privacy, visit in early or late summer, or consider taking a water-taxi (or walking) to more inaccessible coves.
As elsewhere in Italy, beaches are generally divided up into stabilimenti, private businesses who charge an admission price for use of their patch of beach. Some facilities may be included in the basic entrance fee; others will cost extra. Services available generally include deckchairs, sun loungers, towels and changing rooms. There is often a bar or restaurant, meaning you can pass your whole day on the beach, should you wish. However, there are also stretches of spiaggia libera, free beach, which is a more familiar set-up for overseas visitors. Here you can bring your own towels, buckets and spades etc. and make yourself comfortable at no charge. Especially in peak season, though, you may need to walk some way to find a stretch of spiaggia libera.
There are about 37 km of coastline, and although some of the shore is rocky, you are never very far from a beach. The coastal towns all have local stretches of seafront where you can sunbathe or swim, and hotel staff can generally give good advice on the best places to go. Some hotels have their own beach stabilimento, or have an arrangement with a local establishment where they will send their guests at reduced prices.
Ischia's most renowned beach is the Spiaggia dei Maronti, on the southern shore between Sant'Angelo and Barano. Once, the story goes, it was a favoured landing-spot for pirates who would dig pits in which to bury their loot. As well as good swimming, the 3km-long beach offers the unusual treat of a natural thermal spring at Cava Scura. Open-air pools dug in the rock give visitors the opportunity to bathe in the supposedly-therapeutic waters.
Another popular beach is Spiaggia Citara, south of Forio, where the much-photographed Giardini Poseidon are the beach-front gardens of a thermal spa, complete with pools and sunbeds. Between Ischia Porto and Ischia Ponte lie two beaches, Spiaggia Mandra and Spiaggia dei Pescatori. Other favourites include the Spiaggia degli Inglesi ('Beach of the English'), the other side of Ischia Porto.

We started the year 2018 with a week of wellness holidays on the island of Ischia in the Gulf of Naples. We chose the Sorriso Thermae Resort & SPA in Greater Forio. The thermal bath ensured and relaxing days in the outdoor pool area at 36 degrees water temperature and 14 degrees air. We made wonderful trips to Lacco Ameno, Sant'Angelo, Castello Aragonese in Ischia Ponte and Ischia Porto, which rounded off the quiet holiday. The most beautiful moments, I put together here in this video.

Ischia sea and beach eng. Version
Il Paradiso all'Improviso, Suddenly Paradise, is one of the many films shot on the island of Ischia, directors and producers drawn by its natural beauty and spectacular scenery and beaches.
Ischia's beaches vary in size, from the long stretches of sand such as Maronti and Citara, and small coves such as Sorgeto, all set between its rock sculptures, sheltered grottoes and commanding promontories. Ischia's attraction lies in the diversity of its beaches and the influence of the volcanic earth underneath -- at some spots creating darker, grainier sand, in others warmer water and steam baths.
The larger beaches, like Citara, San Montano and Maronti - the latter stretching for almost three kilometres - are generally more easily accessible and provide extensive facilities for families.
The smaller ones obviously provide more privacy where you can lay claim to a tanning rock or snorkel around the sea cliffs.
The coves, accessible only by boat, recall tales of childhood adventures, of pirates and hidden treasure, as well as presenting romantic swimming holes.

Places to see in ( Ischia - Italy )
Ischia is a volcanic island in the Gulf of Naples, Italy. It's known for its mineral-rich thermal waters. Hot springs bubble up at Maronti Beach, in the south. East, Roman remains lie beneath the sea floor at Cartaromana Beach. The beach has views of medieval Aragonese Castle, linked to Ischia by a stone bridge. Nearby, 18th-century Palazzo dell’Orologio houses the Sea Museum, devoted to Ischia’s fishing tradition.
Ischia is the largest island in the bay of Naples and is considered by many to be the most beautiful, (though Capri is considerably more famous). The island is 10 km from east to west and 7 km north to south. It has a coastline of 34 km and covers an area of 46.3 sq km. It has a permanent population of approximately 58,000. Up to 6 million tourists (principally from the Italian mainland and Germany) flock to the island for its volcanic thermal spas and as well for its beaches and food.
Several towns are located along the island's coast. The largest city in Ischia is actually (and often confusingly, for tourists) called Ischia. The town of Ischia, however, has two different centers: Ischia Porto and Ischia Ponte. Ischia Porto is the commercial center of the island and is named after the main port. Ischia Ponte (ponte meaning bridge in Italian) is named for the area surrounding and including the footbridge that was constructed to connect the Castello Aragonese with the island. Beside the town of Ischia, some of the other centres are Lacco Ameno, Casamicciola, Forio, Barano, Sant'Angelo, and the jointed town of Serrara-Fontana.

Ischia — historically called Pitecusae — has been colonized in turn by the Greeks, Syrausansa, Romans, Saracens, Turks, and Aragonese; all of whom were interested in its excellent strategic position as well as its therapeutic hot-spring waters and of course its attractive landscape. The result of all this varied history can be seen in the ruins of various outposts, towers, and tufa rock shelters hidden all over the island. More recently Ischia has become a frequent backdrop for Italian and American movies such as “Vacanze ad Ischia”, “Appuntamento ad Ischia”, and The Talented Mr.Ripley. The island has also been used as a cinematic stand-in for the Island of Capri.

What we did and saw in Ischia - part 1
Every year in the summer we take a break for a few days and head over to Ischia. A 2 hour ferry ride from Positano, the island is much bigger than Capri and much quieter too.
The ferry to Ischia leave Positano at 0900 and arrives at 1100.
The return ferry is at 1620. I would not advise trying to go and come back in one day, you would not have enough time on the island.
We stayed at a beautiful B&B just 5 minutes drive from Ischia Port.
