Vineyard Haven is a community within the town of Tisbury on Martha's Vineyard in Dukes County, Massachusetts, United States. It is listed as a census-designated place (CDP) by the U.S. Census Bureau, with a population of 2,048 as of the 2000 census.
Known by the original Wampanoag inhabitants as Nobnocket, this area was first referred to by the colonial settlers as Homes Hole; Homes from a Wampanoag term for old man, and Hole meaning a sheltered inlet. By the 19th century it was more commonly spelled Holmes Hole after the descendants of John Holmes (1730--1812) who had settled in the village during the second half of the 18th century. In 1871 the village officially changed its name to Vineyard Haven. Though the name Vineyard Haven technically refers only to one section of the town of Tisbury, the names are used interchangeably, with Vineyard Haven now being a commonly used title for the whole town.
Vineyard Haven is the main port of entry to Martha's Vineyard, and one of the three main population centers (with Edgartown and Oak Bluffs). The Steamship Authority wharf is located in Vineyard Haven, at which ferries arrive and depart year-round. (A second, seasonal wharf is located in neighboring Oak Bluffs.) Although the year-round population is only about 2,000 people, its population increases tremendously in the summer, as many houses on the Vineyard are owned by summer residents.

Transportation:

The most reliable source of public transportation from Vineyard Haven to the rest of the island is the Martha's Vineyard Regional Transit Authority (VTA). Almost all of the buses stop at the Vineyard Haven Steamship Authority bus terminal and it is the most used in the summer time and year round. The VTA is the only Island-wide public transportation system on Martha's Vineyard, which makes it the best choice for traveling around the Vineyard for tourists who do not have cars and do not want to pay for a taxi.

Martha's Vineyard Massachusetts USA tour
Parking near the ferry in Falmouth, Massachusetts was $15 for the day. $20 round trip for the ferry. The van load was $225 for all of us and tip was additional for a 3 hour tour of all of the island. Ted Kennedy, Chappaquiddick Billy Joel's place, Oprah Winfrey's yacht, Norton Internet Security inventor's house, US President Ulysses S. Grant's haunts and house, the story of Barrack Obama wanting to sit drinking beer after beer costing taxpayers hundred of thousands in not millions for Secret Service and helicopter hovered for hours and traffic for all was blocked up around the July 4th holiday, the part of the island reclaimed by Native Americans, history of the island, and much more was part of the tour. Food and drinks were very reasonable, especially as you walk away from the car rental and ferry area.
I will consider going back and renting a Harley and touring the island that way next time.
More video and post on my blog, here:
The elite have their own little playground. The rich get richer. The rich don't want chains, corporate stores, fast food, GMO food, and other such filth inflicted on the general population. Food grown on the island is sold on the island in local grocery stores. Some resident spend more on a season's landscaping than the average American can save in a lifetime.
Heroin is a big problem on the island. According to the native who took us on the tour, heroin is the drug of choice. 100's of millions, if not billions of heroin and cocaine money is laundered with the big banks complete complicity. Bankers and global corporate operators don't go to jail, they get fines that are mere pennies to them.
The scenery is beautiful. The air was very nice. Soon, these type of towns will be off limits to the general public. The elite will still need service help, landscapers, and minions.

Martha's Vineyard Vacation
Everyone loves Martha's Vineyard. Bike, sail, swim, shop, eat, fly a kite, relax. Each town offers something special.
Located only seven miles off the Massachusetts coastline, Martha's Vineyard is a 45-minute ferry ride from Woods Hole or Hyannis. Although the island is about 10 by 20 miles in size, cars are not a necessity during the summer months because shuttles and trolleys transport vacationers from town to town. Visitors who do plan to bring a car are encouraged to make reservations early.

Nantucket's Unsafe Roads and Bike Path
In 2014 Nantucket has no comprehensive roadside vegetation management guidelines or controls. Sightlines (the distance you can see ahead) are insufficient for safety on many rural roads.
The bike path rights of way are also unmonitored. Vegetation often intrudes into the biker's space and limits vision.
The State of Massachusetts and the U.S. Department of Transportation have identical guidelines for vegetation control called Vegetation Control for Safety. The booklet addresses the issue of obscured sightlines, and suggests practices and policies for public safety. These include how to measure sightlines, where to cut brush at intersections, scheduling and record keeping. It also defines what may be considered legal negligence in the case of an accident.

Obama's Taxpayer funded Beer Binge, Martha's Vineyard
More info:
A 5th or so generation, or so, native to Matha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, gave us the scoop on Barack Obama's golf and other vacations to Martha's Vineyard. Would you sit and drink beer after beer while helicopters were hovering, boats were kept from coming ashore, traffic was blocked, people could not get into their homes, were stuck on the road, and security people had their thumbs up you know where? If an official is so arrogant that his wanting to sit and drink beer cost millions, what else is this person capable of?
The incident allegedly occurred around July 4th and at a local residents only festivity on Martha's Vineyard.
If Obama treats his own staff like this, what can we as a nation expect? Do you think there is any truth to the rumors that Obama is building a Saddam Hussein type palace for himself in Hawaii for the tune of 30 million dollars? That would be a long way from a guy in his 40's who had barely made any payments on his school loans to be where he is now.
What does this one incident as described in the video say about Barack Obama. Obama invited himself where he was not invited, and shows us again, what a complete bleephole he is. Is this person acting on our behalf, or those offshore, in banks, and who are international corporate organized crime who funded Obama?
