Luther Memorials in Eisleben and Wittenberg - UNESCO World Heritage Site
The UNESCO World Heritage site commemorates Martin Luther, one of the most influential figures in the world's religious history. A German monk from the town of Wittenberg, his disagreement with the Pope in 1517 eventually lead to the Reformation, the founding of Lutheranism (or Protestantism), and triggered a decades-long religious war that consumed much of Europe. This visit encompasses Luther's home town of Wittenberg, where he first nailed his disagreements to the church doors, and where the first Protestant services were held. It was a fascinating visit, and very interesting to see one of the world's most important religious sites.

23 Shocking Photos That Show How Much The World Has Changed
It’s crazy how much the world has changed. I’m not talking about political stuff, but more about the landscapes and architectures. People don’t really realize it, I mean how could they? You’d have to be fairly old to really notice the significant change.

Summary:
23. Rysstad, Norway, 1888-2013. During 1888 it appeared to be nothing but gorgeous farmland. By 2013, it became more of a little country town with adorable homes.
22. This is Seljestadjuvet, Odda, Norway, 1887-2014. Looking at the two different times, it seems as though this gorgeous place has remained more or less the same.
21. The Martin Luther Statue in Dresden, Germany. The two photos are showing how times have changed from 1958-2014. The building in 1958 is almost completely nonexistent. Perhaps the war had something to do with it? But in 2014, the building standing behind the statue adds so much to the photo, kind of giving it more of a European feel.
20. Hofbrauhaus Munchen, Germany. Okay, this photo is a little crazy. If you look at the two buildings, they remain almost untouched. It’s hard to believe that they managed to look the exact same way from 1910 through 2017.
19. Quai Des Nations, Paris, France. Opposite to the last photo, Quai Des Nations, Paris, France has changed significantly from 1900-2017. You’d think there would be more buildings now than there were back then but it’s the exact opposite.

The Neumarkt in Dresden is a place in the old town between Altmarkt and Elbe. Like the Theaterplatz, the Schlossplatz and the Altmarkt, it is one of the important squares of Dresden's Old Town.
The Neumarkt was built in the 16th century after the relocation of the old city wall including the Jüdenhofs as the second marketplace and found after the secularization of the Frauenkirchhofs in the 18th century an enlargement. The baroque development of the Neumarkt was largely destroyed by the air raids on Dresden in February 1945. After the debris clearing its limits were lifted and he appeared as a vast urban open space around the ruins of the Frauenkirche , bounded by the Johanneum , the Palace of Culture and the ruins of the Kurländer Palais, During the clearing away, stable and rebuilt building ensembles were demolished, as on Rampische Strasse .
Due to the brisk building activity after the German reunification, triggered by the reconstruction of the Frauenkirche, today's square changes its shape continuously. The new building aims at a reconstruction of many historical buildings and building footprints that characterized the Neumarkt in the past and were destroyed by war and GDR . Originally a largely modern development was planned almost without rebuilding of the city (such as the New Gewandhaus ), citizen protests and the citizens' initiative Society Historical Neumarkt Dresden then enforced significantly more reconstructions of private builders.

Church of our lady View from top - Dresden, Germany
I could not have imagined that only about 10 years ago, this church and even this entire area was still in ruins. The rubbles that remained symbolically memorialising the horrors of destruction and suffering as the city was destroyed by allied bombers. The Dresden Frauenkirche, the city’s most sacred landmark was completely rebuilt from these rubbles and finally takes its place among the city skyline. The church looks new, with darken pieces intermingling with newer ones. Today it stands as a celebration of peace.
My walking tour guide, a local resident of Dresden recounted her time growing up here, where many part of the Aldstadt laid in ruins. Only recently has there been reconstruction of the city. The buildings surrounding the square hints at how new the area is being rebuilt.
Outside the Dresden Frauenkirche stands a statue of Martin Luther, the father of the reformation. Dresden Frauenkirche is Lutheran, and German states of Saxony was among the states party to the protestant reformation against the Roman Catholics during the Holy Roman Empire. There are old photos that actually show the statue against the rubble ruins of the Dresden Frauenkirche, having survived the bombings.

All Saints' Church, commonly referred to as Schloßkirche (Castle church) to distinguish it from the Stadtkirche (town church) of St. Mary — and sometimes known as the Reformation Memorial Church - is a Lutheran church in Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Germany. It is the site where The Ninety-Five Theses were posted by Martin Luther on 31 October 1517,[1][2] the act that has been called the start of the Protestant Reformation.[3][4]
