In Murano, a series of islands near Venice, Italy, Massimiliano Schiavon carries on the family tradition of glassblowing. The practice has spanned six generations of Massimiliano's family. Today, the Schiavon Art Team creates one-of-a-kind pieces, including artistic vases, sculptures, chandeliers, and even a replica of a motorcycle!

Murano Glass Street Art for The Venice Glass Week 2019
The project fuses the age-old traditions of master Murano glass makers with street art!
This exhibition-event presents the fruit of a collaboration between 14 companies from Murano and 8 street artists, who were invited to realize a series of murals inside the Effetre Murano furnace.
This year, Consorzio Promovetro launched an unprecedented partnership in order to proceed with the promotion initiatives for the Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark.
The activity is funded by Veneto Region and Chambre of Commerce Venezia Rovigo.

Discover the famous glass art made on Murano, a series of Italian islands located a mile north of Venice. There, Massimiliano Schiavon runs his art studio and carries on family tradition. Massimiliano gave us a private tour of his factory and gallery and talked about bringing the art of glassmaking back to Murano by creating one-of-a-kind pieces for his customers. His works of art include chandeliers, animal statues, and an entire motorcycle made completely from glass.

You can visit glass factories and take a walk around Murano island with beautiful buildings painted with bright colors. There are a few restaurants and cafes here. Nice way to spend an afternoon during your Venice Italy trip.
