Leonardo Live 30 sec NZ trailer
The first-ever tour of a fine art exhibition created for movie theater audiences, coming via satellite to select cinemas in February.
Experience the U.K. National Gallery's sold-out, once-in-a-lifetime exhibition 'Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan' at your local movie theater in limited screenings only from February 16, 2012.
The show is dazzling, mysterious and disturbing. That there are any paintings to show at all is something of a miracle says the Guardian in its review of the gallery presentation. Five stars -- a breathtaking and truly remarkable exhibition, the greatest exhibition of the century raves the Telegraph.
Crowds in the U.K. have been queuing every day from dawn to snatch the few remaining tickets to the gallery. Tickets have been re-selling for $700 apiece.
In a first for movie audiences, the big-screen presentation of 'Leonardo Live' gives art lovers the world over the opportunity to share in the excitement of viewing the unprecedented and historic exhibition, in the comfort of their local movie theater. The exhibition brings together the largest ever number of da Vinci's paintings, including a new, never-before-seen Leonardo painting. The program was captured on the eve of the exhibition opening in November 2011 -- the cinema screenings in February will feature extra content.
'Leonardo Live' is presented by art historian Tim Marlow and presenter Mariella Frostrup, who will explore the exhibition and feature detailed examinations of the paintings and interviews with special guests and experts.
See the paintings revealed in astonishing detail through close-up footage on the big screen.
Presented by New York-based alternative content distributors BY Experience and PhilGrabskyFilms.com with the support of Eutelsat.

Matakana Wedding Church - Bryn + Shona Video
Matakana Wedding Church || To see the full write up check out
Bryn and Shona’s wedding day was unique for a couple of reasons. Obviously when the bride arrives via helicopter, well … THAT’S PRETTY COOL! You can’t make too much bigger entrance than that! But in actual fact it was the story behind the helicopter that gave real meaning to Bryn and Shona’s wedding video.
A CHURCH THAT BRYN BUILT RELOCATED!
Bryn and Shona have lived in Matakana their whole lives. So it’s very much home to them. They decided to get married in front of St Andrews Church. A 119 year old church that Bryn himself helped to relocate to it’s current place next to Stables Restaurant about 3 years ago. So it was pretty cool to know the significance of the church to Bryn and Shona, and helped inspire us in how we filmed part of the preparation too!
ROGER THAT
The other storyline that stood out to us was the relationship between Shona and her dad Roger. I think this is the coolest part about the edit for me. Roger’s reaction to Shona’s much anticipated wedding dress and the fact that Roger got to fly Shona to the ceremony himself. (It helps when you own the helicopter company!) Also the banter between Bryn and Roger was fun to see come out on the day and make for a pretty cool story that was Roger giving away his beloved daughter to another man!
Thanks for watching! You’re welcome to check out our Facebook page for daily updates on what we’re up too or maybe leave a comment below.

Renate Von Petersdorff : Potter New zealand art show
In the beautiful environment of the Marlborough Sounds where I have my studio and gallery, I am creatively inspired by nature and the peacefulness of what is around me. I was introduced to pottery in 1992 as I came first to New Zealand and I fell in love with it. It is a very tactile form of art and I love working with my hands.
Back in Germany I attended a graphic design school for two years from 1980 to 1982 and then trained in organic farming. 20 years ago I moved to New Zealand. I opened my own gallery in 1988. I work mainly on the wheel but also enjoy doing some slab work and hand building.
At present I am very fascinated with raku firing, the element of surprise, the variety of colours and working with fire. My work includes functional tableware, candle holders, wind chimes and much more. The work in my gallery is all original and made on the premises.
In the beautiful environment of the Marlborough Sounds where I have my studio and gallery, I am creatively inspired by nature and the peacefulness of what is around me.
I was introduced to pottery in 1992 and I enjoyed it so much that whenever I found the time around looking after 3 children, a house and garden, I would have my hands on some clay. Back in Germany I attended a graphic design school for two years from 1980 to 1982 and then trained in organic farming. In 1987 when I was travelling in NZ I met my husband. We settled in Blenheim, Marlborough and later moved to the Sounds where we built a home.
Art is a diverse range of human activities in creating visual, auditory or performing artifacts (artworks), expressing the author's imaginative or technical skill, intended to be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power.[1][2] In their most general form these activities include the production of works of art, the criticism of art, the study of the history of art, and the aesthetic dissemination of art.
The oldest documented forms of art are visual arts, which include creation of images or objects in fields including painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and other visual media. Architecture is often included as one of the visual arts; however, like the decorative arts, or advertising, it involves the creation of objects where the practical considerations of use are essential—in a way that they usually are not in a painting, for example. Music, theatre, film, dance, and other performing arts, as well as literature and other media such as interactive media, are included in a broader definition of art or the arts. Until the 17th century, art referred to any skill or mastery and was not differentiated from crafts or sciences. In modern usage after the 17th century, where aesthetic considerations are paramount, the fine arts are separated and distinguished from acquired skills in general, such as the decorative or applied arts.
Art may be characterized in terms of mimesis (its representation of reality), expression, communication of emotion, or other qualities. During the Romantic period, art came to be seen as a special faculty of the human mind to be classified with religion and science. Though the definition of what constitutes art is disputed and has changed over time, general descriptions mention an idea of imaginative or technical skill stemming from human agency and creation.
Now that the children are at school I have more time. I work mainly on the wheel but also enjoy doing some slab and hand building. I do slip decorating and I mix my own glazes. My work includes functional tableware, candle holders, wind chimes and much more. All work is original and made on the premises.
