Kandy to Colombo by train, then we head off to Matara. We rented a beach bungalow for 5 nights which is situated right on the beach and out of the busy town centre. Matara has beautiful unspoiled beaches and comfortable beach houses on the outskirts. We went to Polhena beach, where we got the opportunity to swim with turtles and we also went to Mirissa beach for the day.

But there are only few places people can see all these things in a one place. Matara can be recognized as one of those few places. It is one of the “Hidden Paradises” in Sri Lanka.Southern most major town in Sri Lanka and the terminus of the coastal rail line, Matara is located at a distance of 160 km from Colombo. The Nilwala River, which is the lifeline of the region, runs through the town. Matara is famous for its natural beauty-white sandy beaches, lush paddy fields, verdant tea estates, and fragrant spice plantations. The town was earlier under the Portuguese and Dutch rule.

Polhena is a beach located in Matara and contains a 1.2 km (0.75 mi) long coral reef about 80 m (260 ft) off the shore. Because of this, the water near the shore is relatively calm and is a common spot for tourists to swim.[16] Numerous people can be seen snorkeling, surfing and sunbathing along Polhena Beach. However, 90% of this fringe reef had died since the Tsunami and due to human intervention

Matara Beach Temple | Ella To Matara By Bus | Sri Lanka ????????
On 5th day of my Sri Lanka trip I travelled from Ella to Galle by bus. After four and half hours of journey reached Matara, a 2 hour stopover. It was quite a smooth journey than what I expected of vehicle, road condition, weather etc.
Matara Beach Temple is wonderful place to visit which I'd recommend to other travellers.

THINGS TO DO IN MATARA | SRI LANKA - First Week of Happiness
New Year times are the Best Times to Travel around Sri Lanka. It is the Festival Season and people looks so Happy. But We had a serious challenge to find some shops to eat. since its new year, all the shops are closed. Foods are bit expensive in other shops because of the festival Season. Beaches are so good with Waves and windy weather.
We had to Face to an Incident from some drunk Sri Lankan people. Stay in touch with this channel. We will release the video soon here. Do not go swimming alone in waterfalls if it is festival season here. Please are drinking and partying around. Be careful with The Traveling
