Matchstick Art, 7.5 Million sticks over 40 years - COOLEST THING I'VE EVER MADE- EP15
Calling it Amazing Art with matchsticks does not do Patrick Acton's sculptures justice. Over the past 40 years, this Iowa native has been building some of the world's biggest and complicated matchstick sculptures. While some of the larger ones are in Ripley's Believe it of Not Museums, many are in his own museum Matcshstick Marvels down the road from his home in Gladbrook, Iowa. Incredibly, he's made them all in his tiny basement workshop in his home. He estimates that he has used over 7.5 million matchsticks in his career. His most impressive builds include the State Capitol building, a huge Millenium Falcon complete with lights and working landing gear, a locomotive that kids can actually climb into, Hogwarts from Harry Potter and many many more. While most people would build a couple models, Patrick has over 100, each unique and spectacular not to mention impressive.

Day 38 Des Moines Farmers Market, Ames and Waterloo Iowa Plus Matchstick Museum USA Road Trip Part 2
Today we explore the cities and attractions from Des Moines Iowa to Waterloo Iowa. I stop in Ames Iowa, at the High Trestle Trail, at the University of Iowa and my favorite place, the Matchstick Museum connected to Gladbrook Theater.
The farmers market on Saturday mornings in Des Moines Iowa is a must visit. They have everything from hand made crafts to fruits, vegetables and a lot of bakery goods. It was almost like being in France for me! Then I recommend visiting the World Food Prize Museum as it is only open on Saturday and Tuesday. It is such a beautiful museum.
Then I headed to Waterloo Iowa for my John Deere Tour on Monday. So I stopped at the Matchstick Museum which was AMAZING. See more here: matchstickmuseum.com Its crazy what this guy has made, how long it took him, and the number of matches he has used. He is considered the best in the world!!!
I also stopped at the High Trestle trail and in Ames Iowa for the Reiman Gardens, the University of Iowa and for a break.
Let's start a movement. Traveling before or while in college should be commonplace and expected. The power of travel is life-changing and has the potential to enhance society overall. When you travel you learn AMAZING things about yourself, the people around you, the world around you and the opportunities there are.
Without travel I argue that you will never realize your fullest potential because there is so much that you are missing out. Traveling even the smallest of distances will change the way your mind thinks and lead to what society needs most, people who have found a passion, are pursuig it and discovering breakthrough technologies, theories, lifestyles, careers and more.
In Europe this is already commonplace to take a semester, summer, month or year off to explore the EU before or during college. I want to make it commonplace in the United States of America as well. It is possible to do it on any budget and I help people learn how to make it a reality. Find out more at:

Where in Iowa is Jeff?...The Sequel
Here is the 2008 version of Where in Iowa is Jeff? From February to November, I logged 9,850 miles and collected 300 dancing clips. Between the 2007 and 2008 videos, I visited all 99 Iowa counties and drove somewhere between 15,000 and 18,000 miles.
Since last year focused on the top-tier Iowa spots, this years video visits more obscure Iowa places and enabled me to interact more with Iowans along the way. If you think you've seen all of Iowa, you are wrong. Keep looking; you'll be amazed at what you find.

The Grotto: A Hidden Gem in Iowa
In a conversation with Megan Studer, the producer of the video, she had the following to say, As a tour guide at the Shrine, I wanted to make this video to show the beauty and awe of the Grotto. Growing up in West Bend, it has continuously been a part of my life all throughout these years. Once I went off to college, I knew that there would be a lot of people that have never heard of the Grotto. I simply wanted to share its grace with others and show them as much as I could in just the 3 minutes I was allowed.
Megan, part of our Grotto family, is currently attending the University of Northern Iowa to obtain a degree in Digital Media with a minor in Public Relations. She hopes that this video is the official start to her future career in producing videos and content. Please like and share this video with your friends and family!

Amana Colonies|Iowa|USA|Historic|2019|4K
The Amana Colonies are seven villages on 26,000 acres (11,000 ha) located in Iowa County in east-central Iowa, United States: Amana (or Main Amana), East Amana, High Amana, Middle Amana, South Amana, West Amana, and Homestead. The villages were built and settled by German Pietists, who were persecuted in their homeland by the German state government and the Lutheran Church. Calling themselves the True Inspiration Congregations (German: Wahre Inspirations Gemeinden),[3] they first settled in New York near Buffalo in what is now the town of West Seneca. However, seeking more isolated surroundings, they moved to Iowa (near present-day Iowa City) in 1856. They lived a communal life until 1932.

Duarte, CA Credit Repair | (888) 502-1260
Duarte, California Free Credit Repair Counseling call (888) 502-1260 remove bankruptcy, free consumer report, fix bad credit, check your annual Equifax, TransUnion, Experian credit report.
Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, both the credit reporting company and the credit bureau are responsible for correcting inaccurate or incomplete information in your credit report. To take advantage of all your rights under this law, get free consumer credit repair counseling at (888) 502-1260.
If you are like 70% of Americans that have less than perfect credit, you’re sure to be interested in the truth about credit repair. If there were a legitimate alternative to seven years of credit denial, that alternative could mean early parole from the bad credit prison.
What does the law say about repairing your credit? As the credit bureaus computerized their processes and greatly expanded their reach and influence in the late 1960s and early 1970s, consumer complaints began to pile up at the FTC and state attorney generals’ offices. The credit reporting agencies quickly became huge bureaucracies second only in size to the federal government. Yet, the credit bureaus expressly served only the needs of their clients, the credit grantors.
