I Found the BEST SPOT!! Incredible Pike Fishing
Floating an unfamiliar river for some super aggressive pike. I searched around for a while, and then found one of the best pike holes I've fished in a while!
Fly rod: 9' 8wt Orvis Clearwater rod (4 piece)
Reel: Waterworks‑Lamson Liquid Fly Reel 3.5
Line: 8wt scientific anglers fly line, 20lb tapered flouro leader with a 20lb RIO wire tippet.
Rod/reel setup:
-Quantum Octane 6'6 medium heavy action rod with an Abu Garcia silver max and 30lb braided line, connected to a 27lb 9 steel leader.
***The rod and reel I was using is a cheap setup, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. I only use it at the river in case something happens, I'd rather break that than an expensive rod/reel.

Road to 150: Best Things To Do In Saskatchewan
In this video, we share some of the best things to do in Saskatchewan, including Saskatoon, Regina, Grasslands National Park, and more!
Welcome to Saskatchewan!
Often known as an incredibly flat province, nothing could be further from the truth. With lush boreal forests and pristine lakes in the North to prairie landscapes and badlands in the South, Saskatchewan is the perfect place for outdoor lovers to explore.
We drove a pontoon boat around Lake Waskesiu, learned about the province's first nations at Wanuskewin Heritage Centre, and went for a float in Canada's version of the dead sea. We also toured the RCMP Heritage Centre, witnessed the RCMP sunset ceremony, climbed a massive sand dune, and hiked through one of the few remaining natural grasslands in North America. We packed a lot of adventures into our short visit and can't wait to return one day and explore the province further.
We explored Saskatchewan from July 27th - August 8th, 2017!

Canada Oceans Lecture at SFU: Consequences of Canadian Marine Biodiversity
Canada is an ocean nation. Eight of 10 provinces and all three territories—-home to 86 percent of the Canadian population—are adjacent to salt water. But are we failing our oceans?
Our ocean geography carries with it global leadership and stewardship responsibilities to address stressors that threaten ocean health. In light of this, the Royal Society of Canada convened an expert panel to address several questions: What are the past, current, and projected trends in marine biodiversity? What challenges do climate change, fisheries, and aquaculture pose to Canada's ability to sustain this biodiversity? Have we fulfilled our obligations to sustain marine biodiversity for the benefit of current and future generations?
The Centre for Coastal Science and Management at Simon Fraser University offered a free public presentation on Thursday, February 2 at SFU Vancouver on the findings of this panel, which was chaired by Dr. Jeff Hutchings of Dalhousie University. The presentation was called Sustaining Canada's Marine Biodiversity: Responding to the Challenges Posed by Climate Change, Fisheries, and Aquaculture.

Welcome to Nova Scotia!
From May 27th to June 6th, 2017, we toured Nova Scotia as part of the Road to 150 campaign. It was our second province during our 150-day road trip and what an incredible time we had. From the absolute natural beauty of Cape Breton Highlands National Park to the historic beauty of Halifax, the small-town charm of Lunenburg, and the excitement of tidal bore rafting, Nova Scotia is an incredible province to explore. Although we accomplished a lot in ten days, we really only scratched the surface of this incredible east coast province. Whether you're looking for that laid back East Coast charm, maritime history, or incredible natural wonders, Nova Scotia is the place to visit!

Incredible Canadian Rockies - British Columbia and Alberta, Canada
Join us on a soothing slide show journey in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. We will start at Fort Steele and progress to Banff National Park for a leisurely canoe ride on emerald blue/green Lake Louise.
As we travelled north on the Icefields Parkway we drove past fantastic sights such as Bow Lake, Peyto Lake, the Num-Ti-Jah Lodge, and Glacier View Inn at Athabasca Glacier. We climb on Athabasca Glacier being careful not to slip into deep crevasses.
As the glaciers melt, their waters cut their way to the oceans creating dynamic scenery such as Athabasca Falls. The water is laden with fine powder called rock flour and the water carries this milky, abrasive substance downstream into lakes creating stunning beauty.
The Jasper Tramway whisked us up Whistler's Mountain high above Jasper for a day of hiking and photography. We stopped in Banff and explored the Cave and Basin area with the final stop at Moraine Lake.

Road to 150: The Best Things To Do in Manitoba
In this video, we share some of the best things to do in Manitoba, including Winnipeg and Churchill!
Welcome to Manitoba, Canada!
Right in the middle of Canada lies the province of Manitoba, which is home to the city of Winnipeg, some incredible lakes, and the polar bear and beluga whale capital of the world.
We learned about the history of human rights, did yoga with goats, learned about Canada’s history with the Hudson Bay Company, and snorkeled with beluga whales. We also relaxed in a Nordic-inspired spa, stood in the centre of Canada, and walked on the arctic tundra. We really packed a lot of adventures into our ten short days and can't wait to return one day and explore the province further.
We explored Manitoba from July 14 - July 26, 2017.
