Sikharachandi is a hill temple near Bhubaneswar on the way to Nandanakanan. Although much of the forests are cut due to recent expansion of the city still the place is sorrounded by forests. It is a popular picnic spot in Bhubaneswar. We also had carried lunch with us and had lunch in the temple premises. There is a temple of Goddess Sikharachandi on top of the hill. The place is very ideal for picnic.

Jagannath Temple of Puri, Odisha
Devotees of Lord Jagannath gather in front of Jagannath Temple of Puri, Odisha. One can see the hoardings of mobile care like Airtel, Reliance and Nokia.
The Jagannath Temple in Puri is a famous, sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Jagannath and located on the eastern coast of India, at Puri in the state of Odisha. The name Jagannath comes from the word Jagat-Nath which means 'Lord of the Universe' (Jagat = world, Nath = Master/protector).
In Jagannath, the 't' becomes an 'n' to mean lord (nath) of the universe. Even in the western language, there exists a word 'juggernaut' that means once a person or artifact gets going, it cannot be stopped, thrashing all that comes in its way.
The temple is an important pilgrimage destination for many Hindu traditions, particularly worshippers of Krishna and Vishnu, and part of the Char Dham pilgrimages that a Hindu is expected to make in one's lifetime.
Even though most Hindu deities that are worshiped are made out of stone or metal, the image of Jagannath is wooden. Every twelve years these wooden figures are ceremoniously replaced by using sacred trees, that have to be carved as an exact replica. The reason behind this ceremonial tradition is the highly secret Navakalevara ('New Body' or 'New Embodiment') ceremony, an intricate set of rituals that accompany the renewal of the wooden statues.
The temple was built in the 12th century atop its ruins by the progenitor of the Eastern Ganga dynasty, King Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva. The temple is famous for its annual Rath Yatra, or chariot festival, in which the three main temple deities are hauled on huge and elaborately decorated temple cars. Since medieval times, it is also associated with intense religious fervour.
The temple is sacred to the Vaishnava traditions and saint Ramananda who was closely associated with the temple. It is also of particular significance to the followers of the Gaudiya Vaishnavism whose founder, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, was attracted to the deity, Jagannath, and lived in Puri for many years.

Ghanteswari Travel Sambalpur District Odisha
Maa Ghanteshwari temple is a temple located in Chiplima which is 30 km from Sambalpur city via NH 6 in Orissa, India as of now. A bridge is under construction at Mundoghat a strategically important place between Sambalpur and Chiplima expected to fully functional till the last of 2018. It will reduce the distance between Maa Ghanteswari Temple and Sambalpur to half. As the name suggests there are bells everywhere.
People offer bells to goddess Ghanteswari or the Deity of Bells, after fulfillment of their wishes. A large number of pilgrims from across the state visit the temple. It is known as the 'lighthouse without light', built by the early sailors, for whom the bells served as warning against heavy winds.
The special significance of this place lies in the great number of small bells hanging all around.
Maa Ghanteshwari Temple is situated 33 kilometres (21 mi) southwest of the district capital Sambalpur on the bank of Mahanadi River. The Chipilima Hydro Powerplant (CHEP) is located near the temple on the same river bank.
