Places to see in ( Nuremberg - Germany ) Mauthalle
The Mauthalle is a medieval, imperial city building in Nuremberg . It is one of the most important monuments of Nuremberg's Old Town and is a stop on the historic mile of Nuremberg. The tollgate is located in the old town of Lorenz, between Königsstraße and Pfannenschmiedsgasse, north of the square An der Mauthalle.
The tollgate was built between 1498 and 1502 by Hans Beheim d. Ä. built on the penultimate moat and was the largest granary of the city. Through these altogether 12 grain houses the supply of the citizens was secured in times of crisis. The building was passable on the narrow sides with cars. For transport into the interior, elevator hatches were used above the gable axles and at the eaves.
In 1571/72, the imperial city and customs office moved into the building, the cellar served as a defeat (Herrenkeller). The name Mauthalle got the property until the 19th century, through use as the main customs office (toll by customs). In 1898, the tollgate was converted into a commercial building. Since 1929 the cellar was used gastronomically, for decades the toll cellar was housed here, a traditional Franconian guest, beer and wine industry.
During the bombing on 8./9. March 1943, the attic burned down completely - after an emergency roof was built. On October 3, 1944, the building received light explosive bomb hits, on 2 January 1945, it was hit hard again, destroyed the emergency roof, damaged the eastern gable and the southern outer wall, the tollbooth burned down completely. 1951 to 1953 it was rebuilt in a simplified form. The two six-storey, previously executed in half-timbered dormer were only built in plastered masonry.
Today, the tollgate is used as a commercial building. The medieval vaulted cellar has been home to the brewery since 1994, with its attached brewery Barfüßer, which has a total of 835 seats in three guest areas; Traditional beer of the Franconian cuisine is offered for the beer brewed there .
The tollgate is 84 meters long, 20 meters wide and 29 meters high. On a three-storey sandstone building, a five-storey pitched roof with two six-storey roof was set. The basement is a three-aisled hall vault, supported by 26 columns. The east side adorns a network of keel arches in the gable and a pointed arch portal with the coat of arms ( Adam Kraft , 1502). The lavishly designed gable façade shows an imaginatively varied brick iron structure. Through pointed arch crossing the rows of brick interweave to a fish-bubble-like pattern.

Nuremberg, a city in northern Bavaria, is distinguished by medieval architecture such as the fortifications and stone towers of its Altstadt (Old Town). At the northern edge of the Altstadt, surrounded by red-roofed buildings, stands Kaiserburg Castle. The Hauptmarkt (central square) contains the Schöner Brunnen, the gilded “beautiful fountain” with tiers of figures, and Frauenkirche, a 14th-century Gothic church.
Nuremberg is a city on the river Pegnitz and the Rhine–Main–Danube Canal in the German state of Bavaria, in the administrative region of Middle Franconia, about 170 kilometres (110 mi) north of Munich. Nuremberg is the second-largest city in Bavaria (after Munich), and the largest in Franconia (Franken). Several old villages now belong to the city of Nuremberg , for example Grossgründlach, Kraftshof, Thon, and Neunhof in the north-west; Ziegelstein in the north-east, Altenfurt and Fischbach in the south-east; and Katzwang, Kornburg in the south. Langwasser is a modern suburb.
Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof is a stop for IC and ICE trains on the German long-distance railway network. The Nuremberg–Ingolstadt–Munich high-speed line. The Nuremberg tramway network was opened in 1881. As of 2008, it extended a total length of 36 km (22 mi), had six lines, and carried 39.152 million passengers annually. The first segment of the Nuremberg U-Bahn metro system was opened in 1972. Nuremberg's trams, buses and metro system are operated by the VAG Nürnberg (Verkehrsaktiengesellschaft Nürnberg or Nuremberg Transport Corporation), itself a member of the VGN (Verkehrsverbund Grossraum Nürnberg or Greater Nuremberg Transport Network).
There is also a Nuremberg S-Bahn suburban metro railway and a regional train network, both centred on Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof.

The Nazi party rally grounds covered about 11 square kilometres in the southeast of Nuremberg, Germany. Six Nazi party rallies were held there between 1933 and 1938. The grounds included:
the Luitpoldarena, a deployment area
the Luitpold Hall or Old Congress Hall (damaged during World War II, later demolished)
the Kongresshalle (Congress Hall) or Neue Kongresshalle (New Congress Hall) (unfinished)
the Zeppelinfeld (Zeppelin Field), another deployment area
the Märzfeld (March Field) (unfinished, later demolished), a deployment area for the Wehrmacht (army)
the Deutsche Stadion (German stadium) (only foundations were built), which was to be the largest sports stadium in the world
the former Stadion der Hitlerjugend (stadium of the Hitler Youth, today Frankenstadion)
the Große Straße (Great Road), a (never-used) parade road
A Haus der Kultur (House of Culture) and a representative entrance portal towards the Great Road were planned at the northwestern end of the Great Road, near the (new) Congress Hall. Only Zeppelinfeld, Luitpoldarena and Große Straße were finished. The Kongresshalle, Zeppelinfeld and the Große Straße have been under monument protection since 1973 as significant examples of NS architecture. The grounds were all designed by Hitler's architect Albert Speer, except for the Congress Hall, which was designed by Ludwig and Franz Ruff. Today the whole site is a memorial, and parts are used as the Norisring motor racing track.
On 30 August 1933 Hitler declared Nuremberg the City of the Reichsparteitage (Reich Party Congresses). The Party Congresses (Reichsparteitage) were a self-portrayal of the NS-state and had no programmatic task, simply demonstrating the unity of the nation. In a propagandistic way a relation was to be drawn between the NS movement and the glory of the medieval emperors and the meetings of the Imperial States which were held in Nuremberg.

Places to see in ( Nuremberg - Germany ) Frauenkirche
Places to see in ( Nuremberg - Germany ) Frauenkirche
The Frauenkirche is a church in Nuremberg, Germany. It stands on the eastern side of the main market. An example of brick Gothic architecture, it was built on the initiative of Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor between 1352 and 1362. The church contains many sculptures, some of them heavily restored. Numerous works of art from the Middle Ages are kept in the church, such as the so-called Tucher Altar (c. 1440, originally the high altar of the Augustinian church of St. Vitus), and two monuments by Adam Kraft (c. 1498).
The church was built in the grand market, in place of the former Jewish synagogue, which was destroyed during the pogrom of 1349 (which followed an outbreak of Black Death). The architect was probably Peter Parler. Charles IV wanted to use the Frauenkirche for imperial ceremonies, which is reflected in the porch with the balcony, and in the fact that the church is relatively unadorned except for the coats of arms of the Holy Roman Empire, the seven Electors, the town of Nuremberg, and the city of Rome, where the Holy Roman Emperors were crowned.
Charles IV's son Wenceslas was baptized in the church in 1361, on which occasion the Imperial Regalia, including the imperial reliquaries, were displayed to the people. Beginning in 1423, the Imperial Regalia was kept permanently in Nuremberg and displayed to the people once a year on a special wooden platform constructed for that purpose.
The Frauenkirche is a hall church with two aisles and a tribune for the emperor. The church contains nine bays supported by four columns. The triforium, named the Imperial Loft or St. Michael's Loft, opens on to the nave by means of an arcade, the arches of which are filled with floating tracery, consisting of three rosettes supported by a segmental arch. The narthex of the church contains tracery. All three sides of the narthex have portals, the jambs and archivolts of which are decorated with sculptures. The gable contains many niches, which used to house sculptures.
One of the most notable features of the church is the Männleinlaufen, a mechanical clock that commemorates the Golden Bull of 1356. The clock was installed in the church in 1506. The Holy Roman Emperor is shown seated with the prince-electors surrounding him. The clock mechanism is activated at midday, when a bell is rung to start the sequence and is followed by the trumpeters and drummer. Then there is a procession of the electors around the figure of the Holy Roman Emperor.

Nurnberg.
