Day Trip to Tulum Ruins and Tulum Beach:
Tulum, Cancun, Playa del Carmen and The Mayan Riviera is scattered with Mayan Temples and ruins like Coba, Chichen Itza, Ek Balam and more. One of the most visited, and one of the most beautiful is Tulums Ruins right on the Caribbean.
I came to Tulum Ruins for the day from Playa del Carmen on the bus, I explain how to get here (for cheap!) from Tulum, Cancun and Playa, and the entrance fee cost and what to expect. You can do Tulum Tours but you can save money and head there yourself. Also bring your towel because you can access Tulum Beach which is one of the best beaches in the area, right along the best hotels in Tulum.

Tulum Mayan Ruins & Beach (Tulum, Mexico)
Doing a little exploring around the Tulum Ruins in Quintana Roo, Mexico. This was a very, very beautiful beach with pretty cool areas to walk around. I went further down where less folks were swimming. Its much better there than the main part of the beach.

Tulum Mayan Ruins - Cruise Excursion 4K
The Tulum Mayan Ruins is an extremely popular tourist destination located in Mexico. Tulum is just a short distance from Cancún and Playa del Carmen on the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. It is one of the best-preserved Maya sites.
The Tulum ruins are situated on a 40 foot cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. There is a staircase down to the beach where visitors can swim at one of the most breathtaking beaches.
There are bus tours that stop at Tulum each day. It is also a very popular cruise excursion. Cruise lines such as Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival have tours that go to Tulum when in port at Cozumel, Mexico.
This video is a complete overview of the Tulum Mayan Ruins tour excursion through Norwegian Cruise Lines.
It starts off with a 40 minute ferry ride from Cozumel to Playa del Carmen. After you arrive, there is a short walk to a coach bus. The bus ride to Tulum is about 50 minutes long. Once in Tulum your tour guide will take you around the ruins and give you a very informative and entertaining overview of the ancient Mayan City. The guided tour takes about 45 minutes. After the guided tour you have about 90 minutes to explore on your own. You can take that time to walk around the ruins or go swimming at the beautiful beach 40 feet below the cliffs. After that you head back to Playa del Carmen and board the ferry back to Cozumel.
There is a short clip of my amazing tour guide, Juan. He is extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. If you take the tour, hopefully you get him because he was great!
In the clip, Juan is talking about the one day a year that the sunrise perfectly lines up to shine directly through the temple window. That day just so happens to be June 21, the summer solstice.
In the video you will see the 3 major structors at Tulum.
Pyramid El Castillo (The Castle)
Templo Dios del Viento (God of Winds Temple)
Temple of the Frescos

TULUM: The BLUEST BEACHES and MAYAN RUINS
In today's vlog we hit the town of Tulum on our bikes and ride to the nearby ruins. We got to the Tulum ruins early in the morning but there were so many tourists there already. To get out of the heat, we had some fun in the BLUEST waters we've seen in all of our travels in Mexico. We take you through the main street in town where we found some amazing mojitos and delicious Argentinian empanadas.

SARGAZO IN MEXICO, SEAWEED IN TULUM MEXICO, SARGASSUM SEAWEED ON MEXICO BEACH IN TULUM
SARGAZO IN MEXICO, SEAWEED IN TULUM MEXICO, SARGASSUM SEAWEED ON MEXICO BEACH IN TULUM I just came back from a holiday in Mexico and for those heading to Tulum ruins wondering what the local beach looks like right now - here is your answer... Tulum (Spanish pronunciation: [tuˈlum], Yucatec: Tulu'um) is the site of a pre-Columbian Mayan walled city which served as a major port for Coba, in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo.[1] The ruins are situated on 12-meter (39 ft) tall cliffs along the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula on the Caribbean Sea in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico.[1] Tulum was one of the last cities built and inhabited by the Maya; it was at its height between the 13th and 15th centuries and managed to survive about 70 years after the Spanish began occupying Mexico. Old World diseases brought by the Spanish settlers appear to have resulted in very high fatalities, disrupting the society and eventually causing the city to be abandoned.[citation needed] One of the best-preserved coastal Maya sites, Tulum is today a popular site for tourists. Tulum has architecture typical of Maya sites on the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. This architecture is recognized by a step running around the base of the building which sits on a low substructure. Doorways of this type are usually narrow with columns used as support if the building is big enough. As the walls flare out there are usually two sets of molding near the top. The room usually contains one or two small windows with an altar at the back wall, roofed by either a beam-and-rubble ceiling or being vaulted.[4] This type of architecture resembles what can be found in the nearby Chichen Itza, just on a much smaller scale.[3]
Tulum's wall
Tulum was protected on one side by steep sea cliffs and on the landward side by a wall that averaged about 3–5 meters (9.8–16.4 ft) in height. The wall also was about 8 m (26 ft) thick and 400 m (1,300 ft) long on the side parallel to the sea. The part of the wall that ran the width of the site was slightly shorter and only about 170 meters (560 ft) on both sides. Constructing this massive wall would have taken an enormous amount of energy and time, which shows how important defense was to the Maya when they chose this site. On the southwest and northwest corners there are small structures that have been identified as watch towers, showing again how well defended the city was. There are five narrow gateways in the wall with two each on the north and south sides and one on the west. Near the northern side of the wall a small cenote provided the city with fresh water. It is this impressive wall that makes Tulum one of the most well-known fortified sites of the Maya.[5]
Most famous buildings
There are three major structures of interest at the Tulum archaeological site. El Castillo, the Temple of the Frescoes, and the Temple of the Descending God.
