McCrae Lighthouse Feature Lighting
McCrae Lighthouse feature lighting by Space Cannon Australia, in conjunction McCrae and District Lions Club.
Built in 1874 in England, and erected in McCrae on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula in 1883, this lighthouse is now lit with state-of-the-art colour-changing LED luminaires that change colour to commemorate important awareness dates.

This video documentary was done in 1989 while I was studying History & Film at La Trobe University while doing my BA in Music. My classmate Natalie agreed to play the part of Georgiana - but forgot that the day we arranged to do the film - was the morning after her 21st Birthday - a great effort and a job well done - thanks Natalie. The music track I had written in 1986 - finally found a place for it in this documentary. Hope you enjoy our video - Apologies for the video quality - no HD in that decade. Cheers.

Funny place for a Lighthouse
Did you know that at the Australian National Maritime Museum we have three very large objects relating to lighthouses? One is a 'real' lighthouse which was relocated to Sydney from Cape Bowling Green, a low sandy spit 70 km south of Townsville, Queensland.

McCrae Beach January 2017 Above and Below Water - Short Version
Swimming around with the GoPro 5 Black experimenting at the little reef off McCrae beach on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, didn't see any marine life at the time but when i got home to have a look at the footage there was surprisingly plenty of life out there including a a small Ray and a school of small puffer fish lol! Also saw what I think are Pacific Gulls, like an oversized more chunky Seagull.

Historic Cape Otway Lighthouse, Victoria, Australia
This lighthouse was in use from 1848 until 1994. A radar station was also built and used there during WWII. It is the oldest surviving lighthouse on mainland Australia. Photographed 9th July, 2014.
