BALLYBUNION, THE BEST BEACHSIDE TOWN IN IRELAND?
Is BALLYBUNION, THE BEST BEACHSIDE TOWN IN IRELAND? That's the question, probably not realistically but it ain't bad.
Alright anyway myself, Haley, Amy, and Jimmy decided to go to Ballybunion for the evening as it was actually decent weather which is rare, so you have to make the most of it lol. I wouldn't really call this a vlog more of a cinematic kind of video, really quick, snappy look at the famous Ballyb from our perspective.
Hope you enjoy this new video.

Cashen's Fisherman
Here's the song I wrote about my inspiring meeting of the kind old fisherman and great netmaker Chas Laide in Ballyduff, County Kerry. It was part of my songwriting visit to Ireland in Ballyfeale, Co. Limerick.
Lyrics:
I met an old fisherman who lives on the shore
He used to go fishing for salmon and more
On Cashen's rich waters so often he rowed
And pulled in his nets with a mighty load
Chas Laide is his name and he's born and bred
Where the river meanders through a wide sandy bed
In a little white cottage right next to his school
He learned how to handle the netmaking tool.
He lives and he works with the rhythm of the tides
He reads from the water and sees what it hides
The seasons define the nature of his trade
I never met a man so in place like Chas Laide
But there's hardly a salmon surviving the times
Of the upscaling industry's natural crimes
The fisherman knows but his time is not long
And he hums Wild Blackberries, his favourite song
Now he goes for the oyster banks out on the sea
And he tells you his stories with a hot cup of tea
He teaches you knotting the nets for a while
If you ever meet Chas you'll come out with a smile.
On board the Cashen Heather when the tide is high
He sails the deep waters beneath the blue sky
The seagulls that follow him out on the sea
Know this is a fisherman born to be free

Wild Atlantic Way Road Trip Vlog series - Ballybunion Beach
Wild Atlantic Way Road Trip Vlog series - Ballybunion Beach
In this vlog episode we leave Carrigafoyle Castle and continue our journey south along the Wild Atlantic Way.
We arrive in the seaside town of Ballybunion. Ballybunion beach is a beautiful clean beach. The beach is divided in two and in days gone by there men and ladies were kept apart - there was one beach for the ladies and one for the gentlemen.
Today of course the beaches are mixed and both full of activity with people sunbathing and lots of people having surf lessons.
Overlooking both beaches is Ballybunion Castle - a walk around the castle gives you wonderful aerial views of both beaches.
It was so nice to see such a clean and well looked after beach and locals told us that there are regular organised beach cleans.
The Wild Atlantic Way is one of the longest designated coastal road trips in the world at over 2,500 km long. Our road trip of the Wild Atlantic Way started at the most Northern Point of Ireland - Malin Head and finished all the way at the bottom in the town of Kinsale.
The Wild Atlantic way is a road trip of a lifetime and that’s why we just had to do it and produce a travel series of vlogs of our experiences along this magical road. We saw beautiful and dramatic cliffs, stunning beaches, the best sunsets, met lots of lovely people, sung at a shanty festival and saw Ireland at it’s best. If you come to Ireland you must visit the Wild Atlantic Way - even if you can’t do the complete road trip just go and do part of it - absolutely awesome and what a road trip to start off our never ending journey around the Globe.
We hope you enjoy this episode of our Wild Atlantic Way Road Trip Vlog Series.
