Mechanical Music Museum, Northleach, guided tour 2017
Members from our local 'Parkinson's Friendship Group' took a day-trip to Northleach, Gloucestershire GL54 3ET. On the spur of the moment I recorded this video with my rather old mobile phone, we really enjoyed the experience, followed by refreshments in the adjoining cafe. Thoroughly recommended.

Some of the full-size and scale steam engines that attended Northleach Steam and Vintage Show on 6th & 7th September 2014. Not all were in the arena as some were busy running the Ransome Thrasher and the recently restored Northleach Steam Sawing Company saw bench.

Keith Harding live at Northleach Steam and Vintage Show 2013
We were very grateful to Keith Harding for taking time out from Keith Harding's World of Mechanical Music to exhibit and two instruments from the museum. This included the organ that appeared in the 2012 film Les Misérables (the dark brown organ with the red curtains in the video).
The World of Mechanical Music, Northleach, Gloucestershire, is a living museum of the extraordinary variety of self-playing musical instruments and automata which were the pride and joy of our Great Grandparents, and the only kind of canned musical entertainment available in the home before regular broadcasting started up in 1924.
All the instruments are maintained in the most perfect possible order in their world-famous workshops on the premises, and introduced and played by their well informed guides in the form of a live entertainment.
Admission charges are adults £8, seniors £7, Children £3.50, family ticket (2 adults 2 children) £19. Entry to shop is free.
Open every day 10:00 - 17:00 hrs, except Xmas and Boxing day (last admission to museum 16:00 hrs)

Marklin steam engine
After 18 years of restoration and finding many of the missing parts here is a short video of my twin cylinder Marklin steam engine, model 4161/94/11 running under compressed air. Here it is running at approx. 5-8 PSI and is self starting. In 2018 I managed to buy a very rare Marklin dynamo that now competes this model back to its original condition. Almost everything you see is original Marklin with only a few pieces remade from scratch.
