Great Long Vid Of IAF C-17 Landing At Mechuka, Arunachal
Aalo to Mechuka road condition ¦ Mechuka SeriesEp04 ¦#ArunachalPradesh Diaries#mechukaroadcondition
Mechuka is a land of Lamas which is located near to the China border in the Arunachal Pradesh state. The population is sparse and air quality is so pure that if someone from the northern part of India travels there then definitely get the itchiness in their throat. hahaha just kidding.
Mechuka is definitely far but its worth to go over there especially in the best season which is Oct-Nov as it will not be much cold. I was over there in the month of March but still, the water was freezing cold that you need to have hot water to get fresh in the morning.
Mechuka is around 900 Km far from Guwahati (Gateway of NorthEast India). The nearest train station is Jonai (Assam) then take the bus or shared sumo to Pasighat or directly to the Aalo (Along previously). Then from Aalo to Mechuka.

Mechuka : Fly through the forgotten valley of Arunachal Pradesh
Menchuka - the forgotten valley of Arunachal Pradesh - can be explored and travelled in various ways. A bike ride on the narrow roads surrounded by steep hills and houses in the distance is what the rider chose as the best way for exploring the valley.
Located about 29 km from MacMahon Line (that separates India from China), the breathtakingly beautiful Menchuka Valley lies in the West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh. With a name that literally means the medicinal water of snow, this surreal valley has picture-postcard views of snow-capped peaks, vast meadows and evergreen pine forests. Until recently, the bowl-shaped valley was known only for its airfield – it was one of the crucial strategic locations during the 1962 war with China – and became accessible by road only a decade ago.
Mechuka Valley is home to the people of the Memba, Ramo (Adi), Bokar and Libo tribes. The Memba tribe, that makes up the majority of the local population, are a warm, friendly Tibeto-Mongoloid community that resides in quaint wooden houses besides their millet and buckwheat fields. The next big tribe, thee once-nomadic Ramos are also believed to have migrated from Tibet long ago, but unlike the Buddhist Membas , practice Donyi-Polo or worship of nature.
