The Tomb of an Egyptian God? Mastaba 17 at the Meidum Pyramid | Ancient Architects
The Pyramid of Meidum is said to be the oldest of the three pyramids built by King Sneferu, but I believe that the core of this pyramid was originally a finished stepped construction in its own right.
I believe Sneferu attempted to convert this stepped pyramid into a true pyramid, and I have also made a video in the past about my hypothesis that the Bent Pyramid is actually a converted Ziggurat-style building and this is why it has its bent shape. I’ve linked this video below in the description.
I believe that Sneferu renovated these much older constructions but his work on the pyramid of Meidum specifically was somewhat of a failure.
No burial was ever discovered inside the Pyramid of Meidum and the internal layout of the pyramid doesn’t exactly scream that it’s a tomb. I believe it had another function altogether, one that we can only speculate as to what it was.
To the north-east of the pyramid, just a few hundred yards away, there is a colossal structure in a ruinous state known as Mastaba 17, and inside are some mysterious remains that may be of an ancient Pre-Dynastic King, who was to become a god!

The Unsolved Mysteries of the Broken Pyramid at Meidum, Egypt
Part 2 of my investigation into the Old Kingdom pyramid side of Meidum, in Egypt. In this video we investigate the giant pyramid, go inside for a detailed look at the chambers, as well as at the ancillary structures surrounding it. We look back in time at what legendary Egyptologist Flinders Petrie discovered here, and discuss the many unsolved mysteries still awaiting investigation at this most enigmatic of ancient egpytian megalithic sites.

Burial Chamber - Meidum's Pyramid - Egypt
On the north side of the pyramid, at a height of 18.5 m, is the entry to the descending corridor, which leads to the burial chamber with its projecting vault and in which no trace of a sarcophagus was found.
Egypt inaugurates 'Bent Pyramid' in Giza
The Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities inaugurated for the first time since 1965 the Bent Pyramid of the Pharaoh King Sneferu in Giza's Dahshur archaeology area. Measuring 101 metres high [328ft], the Bent Pyramid received this name due to the inclination on which it was build. It rises 58 degrees from the desert and its highest piece was built at the shallower angle of 55 degrees.

The Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities inaugurated for the first time since 1965 the Bent Pyramid of the Pharaoh King Sneferu in Giza's Dahshur archaeology area, at an open ceremony on Saturday.
Measuring 101 metres high [328ft], the Bent Pyramid received this name due to the inclination on which it was build. It rises 58 degrees from the desert and its highest piece was built at the shallower angle of 55 degrees.
This pyramid has not only two angles but also two entrances. The first one on the Northern side - that will be officially open for the public for the first time today; and the Western one, explained Khaled El-Enany, Minister of Antiquities.
Footage shows the massive pyramid from the outside and the daunting stairs and the narrow tunnel one has to face in order to see its interior. During the ceremony, mummies buried in sarcophagi and ancient wooden masks found during the excavations were exhibited to visitors.
The Bent Pyramid is one of the five pyramids built under the Old Kingdom Pharaoh Sneferu, around c. 2,600 BC, and retains its original form.
The founding pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt during the Old Kingdom, King Sneferu built three pyramids at the royal necropolis of Dahshur, put on the UNESCO's world heritage list as part of the Memphis necropolis. Legend says Sneferu was buried inside his architectural work.

The Maydoum Pyramid, at Meidum, Egypt
The Maydoum Pyramid, Meidum Pyramid was started by King Huni at the end of the third dynasty. King Snefto completed the building as the first of the 4th dynasty. The height is about 70 meters. The entrance is on the North side and leads to a 57-meter long passage where there are two small chambers and the burial chamber. We were able to walk down a staircase deep into the pyramid to the burial chamber. Well worth the walk down. Steep, cramped, not for the tall bod, and definitely warm down there.

This is the story of the discovery of an ancient megalithic chamber, found deep under a primitive Old Kingdom structure at Meidum, in Egypt. The chamber contains the oldest know example of a single piece, precision carved granite box. Explored and documented by Flinders Petrie and other expeditions over 100 years ago, the remarkable mystery that is this chamber can still visited today.

8 Egyptian Pyramids That Are Not the Giza Pyramids
Last weekend, one of the most historically important pyramids in Ancient Egyptian lore was opened to the public for the first time in over half a century.
While to the layman, the Bent Pyramid of Snefru in Dahshur looks like a decayed antiquity forgotten by time, the 4,600-year-old provides unique insight into how the Pharaohs developed the science and art of pyramid-building – and it’s not the only one outside of the ‘big three’ in Giza that holds its own historical significance, secrets and unexplainable wonders.

Egypt Great Pyramid of Giza Documentary HD 2019
The Great Pyramid of Giza (also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops) is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex bordering present-day Giza in Greater Cairo, Egypt. It is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain largely intact.
Based on a mark in an interior chamber naming the work gang and a reference to the Fourth Dynasty Egyptian pharaoh Khufu, some Egyptologists believe that the pyramid was thus built as a tomb over a 10- to 20-year period concluding around 2560 BC. Initially standing at 146.5 metres (481 feet), the Great Pyramid was the tallest man-made structure in the world for more than 3,800 years until Lincoln Cathedral was finished in 1311 AD. Originally, the Great Pyramid was covered by limestone casing stones that formed a smooth outer surface; what is seen today is the underlying core structure. Some of the casing stones that once covered the structure can still be seen around the base. There have been varying scientific and alternative theories about the Great Pyramid's construction techniques. Most accepted construction hypotheses are based on the idea that it was built by moving huge stones from a quarry and dragging and lifting them into place.
There are three known chambers inside the Great Pyramid. The lowest chamber is cut into the bedrock upon which the pyramid was built and was unfinished. The so-called[2] Queen's Chamber and King's Chamber are higher up within the pyramid structure. The main part of the Giza complex is a set of buildings that included two mortuary temples in honour of Khufu (one close to the pyramid and one near the Nile), three smaller pyramids for Khufu's wives, an even smaller satellite pyramid, a raised causeway connecting the two temples, and small mastaba tombs for nobles surrounding the pyramid.

UK: Egypt demands return of Giza Pyramid stone if legality not verified

The Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities requested that Scotland's National Museum provides documentation proving that a casing stone from the Great Pyramid of Giza set to go on display along with other ancient Egyptian artifacts on February 8, had been legally transferred from Egypt. The Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities said that they would demand that the stone is returned back to Egypt if the museum fails to provide the necessary documentation.
Footage filmed in Edinburgh on Tuesday, shows the casing stone, which was reportedly obtained from the Great Pyramid of Giza, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu.
The Khufu's pyramid stone will be displayed along with other Egyptian artifacts as part of the museum's first permanent display of its Egyptology collection dubbed 'Rediscovering Ancient Egypt.'
The ancient stone is believed to be some 4,500 years old. The stone is allegedly one of the few surviving casing stones, which formed the outer surface of the Khufu pyramid. According to lead curator of the Ancient Egypt exhibition at Scotland's National Museum, Margaret Maitland, the casing stone was brought about 15 kilometres down river from Giza to be the outer casing of the pyramid.
Maitland noted that the stone was discovered in rubble at the base of the pyramid during work that was being carried out on behalf of Charles Piazzi Smyth, who she said conducted what was really the first largely accurate survey of the Great Pyramid to date in the 1860s.
The National Museum of Scotland is set to open the permanent exhibition that explores more than 4,000 years of ancient Egyptian history.
The exhibition will feature around 7,000 Egyptian artifacts, including a Sphinx statue and a coffin of an unknown Egyptian queen.

Egypt minister inaugurates Snefru's pyramid
(13 Jul 2019) Egypt has opened two of its earliest pyramids, located about 25 miles (40 kilometres) south of the capital Cairo, to visitors for the first time since 1965.
The ceremony in Giza on Saturday was attended by Egyptian officials and foreign diplomats.
The Dahshur necropolis area is home to what is considered to be some of the earliest pyramids, including Sneferu's Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid.
The Bent Pyramid is considered a transition phase in pyramid construction, that comes between step pyramids and complete pyramids.
Antiquities Minister Khaled al-Anany told reporters at the site on Saturday that Egyptian archaeologists had also uncovered a collection of stone, clay and wooden sarcophagi, some of them with mummies, in the Dahshur royal necropolis.
He said archaeologists also found wooden funerary masks along with instruments used in cutting stones, dating to the Late Period (664-332 B.C.).
Mostafa Waziri, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, said further excavations of the site would take place next month.
Egypt hopes such discoveries will spur tourism, which is partially driven by antiquities sightseeing hit hard by political turmoil following the 2011 uprising.

5. FOURTH DINASTY PHARAOHS ARE NOT BUILDERS OF GIZA PYRAMIDS 4.500 YEARS AGO
DR. SAM OSMANAGICH'S CHALENGE TO EGYPTOLOGY – WHY SONS OF GODS (PHARAOHS) ARE NOT BUILDERS OF TEMPLES AND PYRAMIDS IN ANCIENT EGYPT?
Anthroplogy professor, pyramid researcher and discoverer of the Bosnian Pyramids Dr. Sam Osmanagich (samosmanagich.com) argues why known pharaohs were not builders of most magnificent temples, statues and pyramids in ancient Egypt.
At this stage, Egyptology is not a scientific discipline. It simply tries to fit ancient monuments to their, very recent, time line. Egyptologists disregard most important document 'Turin King List' which goes back 36.620 years and era of gods and demi gods.
It takes an interdisciplinary scientific approach to deciphere the real age, builders, technology and purpose of temples and pyramids.
Dr. Sam Osmanagich brings the most important sites to the viewers in this series explaining technology and bulders.
