During the 1930's, when Chiang Kai-shek and his wife Soong Mei-ling ruled China, they had a summer villa outside Nanjing, near the Sun Yat-sen tomb. Closed for decades, it is again open for tourists, restored to its 1930's appearance. One can tour their living quarters, offices, etc., but of particular interest is their private chapel on the second floor. It offers a glimpse into the role of Christianity in Nationalist China.

Drone footage of China's amazing Meiling Palace, which features a traditional Chinese villa surrounded by Autumn foliage.
In the video, the foliage of autumn-hued leaves is shaped like a sapphire necklace, with the palace sitting within it, like a central pendant.
According to one tour operator, the traditional Chinese-style villa is located at the foot of Purple Mountain, covers a total area of more than 2,000sq meters and was completed in 1934.

美齡宮位於南京明孝陵東面的小紅山上，興建於1931年，原為國民政府主席官邸，又名小紅山官邸，因蔣介石、宋美齡夫婦常來此度假，故被稱作「美齡宮」美齡宮。是南京最壯觀、最典雅的建築之一。
美齡宮黃色的外牆，紅色的立柱，綠色琉璃瓦覆頂，屋頂上雕著1000多隻鳳凰，屋簷底下描著漂亮的彩繪，讓人感受到一種中國宮殿式的富麗堂皇。樓門口停著美國政府送給宋美齡專用的別克汽車，樓內地下有一層，地上有三層，基本按照蔣宋夫婦生前原樣佈置。如果俯瞰美齡宮全景會意外發現，陵園路像項鏈，紅山上的環山路像項鏈上的吊墜，而美齡宮像鑲嵌在吊墜上的綠寶石，據說這個創意是宋美齡提出的。

We (Manjit bro, Atcha Ponn and me) took a trip to Purple Mountain the famous sightseer station in Nanjing. Where we went to Purple Mountain Observatory which was established in 1934 funded by the Nationalist Government of the Republic of China, renowned for astronomical observatory.
