ASSIUT: Here was the capital of the Nome XIII of ancient Egypt.Here was a city and a temple to the local god Wepwawet (grey jackal god). But only was found remains of the necropolis, this site is in the west of the present city of Assiut. and are tombs of Dynasties IX X and XII.The most famous tomb in this necropolis is the tomb of Mesehti (XII D) where were found a lot of very beautiful wooden soldiers
DEIR EL GABRAWI:Here were buried officials of de nome XII during the VI dynasty. are two groups of Tombs within the rock near the village of Deir el gabrawi. the most important tomb is the tomb of Ibi
MEIR: Near the village of meir are several tombs belonging to rulers of the nome XIV during the VI and VII Dynasty. here are excellent paintings, and the most important tomb is Senbi's tomb where was found a magnificent blue ceramic hippo,decorated with water plants, (this hippo is nicknamed William)
EL SHEIKH SAID: Are a group of tombs within the rock belonging to rulers of the nome XV during Dynasty VI
DEIR EL BERSHA: This site is near the village of Deir el Bersha, exactly in Nakhala Valley. here are limestone quarries and tombs within the rock,of rulers of the nome XV during Dynasty XII, The main of them is of Djehutihotep, Here is a magnificent painting showing a scene of many workers moving a giant statue from the quarries

In Akhmin City was The ancient town of Ipu on the east bank of the Nile (in front of Sohag city). In pharaonic times it was also known as Khent-Min, being the cult centre of the god Min, god of fertility.
in the town of Akhmin is this fantastic open air museum, here you can see a spectacullar Statue of Meritamun (Daughter of RamessesII) also a great sculpture of this pharaoh and many archeological remains of different periods including many GrecoRoman pieces.

The pyramids and tombs of Saqqara served as the cemetery for the ancient Egyptian capital, Memphis. Recent excavations south of the pyramid of King Unas have revealed a significant embalming workshop containing a unique set of measuring cups and bowls. These are inscribed with the names of oils and substances used in mummification. Ramadan Hussein will talk about this discovery and its significance to understanding ancient Egyptian funerary rituals.
