The Melbourne International Animation Festival 2010 Trailer by Steven Woloshen
The Melbourne International Animation Festival's technique focus this year is Direct to Film/Scratch Animation, and our special guest Steven Woloshen (Canada) has been more than amazing by creating our trailer - all in the name of celebrating 10 big years of MIAF animation goodness. Oh yeah! Steven will introduce the technique focus program which he curated with MIAF Director Malcom Turner, and will hold a special 2 day workshop.

Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show | Top Events in Melbourne
One of the biggest flower shows in Australia is the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. Held annually at the end of March at the Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens, dates are shown on their website. It’s one of Melbourne’s top events. A fantastic place to see gardens and flowers. You can spend hours wandering the flower exhibits. Tickets can be booked online and prices are show in the video.
Try the Gardens by Twilight or a workshop showing flower arrangements. My favourite was the tulip flower displays. There are plenty of things to buy for your gardens and special discounts for the even.
The Melbourne International Flower and Garden show is a wonderful event for the whole family, for more details please see the video. For more top things to do in Melbourne please subscribe.

Melbourne International Animation Festival 2011 Octopus Trailer
The Melbourne International Animation Festival's sensational 2011 trailers (yes, there are two!) were generously created by Melbourne's very own, John Lewis (he also made the 2009 trailer which you can watch through our YouTube Channel right here). This is the second one, ingeniously titled 'Octopus' by the MIAF crew (yep, we're a creative mob!). And please check out the second trailer, which... you guessed it... is called 'Tree'. Both are made out of paper to carry the theme of our technique focus this year, which is Cut-Outs. For the full program, ticket and entry details, head to miaf.net

4Diverse & Hola Melbourne Fest 2019 STORY
HOLA MELBOURNE FESTIVAL COMING September 13th - 29th
By 2017 4Diverse, as a local community organisation, had noticed the rapid growth of the Latin-American community in Port Phillip. Based on this observation, we decided to run the Latin American Art Exhibition 2018 which took place in March 2018.
This event was a great opportunity for us as an organisation to connect with the local community, and gain a sense of what is happening locally in the Latin American art scene and culture.
The success of the first edition of this initiative encourages us to present a wider program, such as the:
HOLA MELBOURNE! FESTIVAL OF LATIN AMERICAN CULTURE AND IDEAS. 2019. This program is much more ambitious regarding the range and scope. 4Diverse will create interactive performances that involve local visual artists, musicians, writers, academics and dancers to actively engage the community.
At HOLA MELBOURNE! 2019, we aim to make activities as inclusive as possible. We involve our audiences with artists, and provide opportunities for people to be involved in the creation of art, music and dance. We also offer the chance to reflect on contemporary issues related to Latin American countries and the presence of Latin American people in Australia.

The focus of 4DIVERSE is to socially and culturally connect diverse people through a thriving community of arts, well-being, and cultural programs. Our multi-functional gallery space has been home to many exhibitions of emerging local artists, workshops, lectures, performances, launches, markets, screenings and helping the well-being of the local community. For the last four years, we have assisted, volunteered, produced and curated several community-engaging events and indoor and outdoor public art installations such as LATIN AMERICAN ARTS EXHIBITION ST KILDA 2018 which was held at 4DIVERSE Hub gallery with outdoor activities that included music, dance, performances, drink and food from the region.
Following the event was a month-long series of activities related to the exhibition which was held at the gallery. This included collaboration with Latin American studies lecturer/researcher from RMIT University (Dr Elizabeth Kath), who contributed to the conceptualisation of the event, art curation, and gave an opening speech on Latin American culture in Australia. 4DIVERSE has run public events such as:
INTERACTIVE PUBLIC ART / MINI - FESTIVALS 2017 ST KILDA SEA LIFE INTERACTIVE PROJECTION on Acland St in Winter, commissioned by Port Philip, Vibrant Village Seed Grant Directed by artist Victor Holder 2016
THE MAKE BELIEVE BOOK, a St Kilda Library projection, commissioned by City Port Philip, Vibrant Village Small Poppy Grant Directed by artist Victor Holder

Melbourne Fringe Festival - Everything Is Art (for 2.5 Weeks)
Everything is art (for 2.5 weeks). A new positioning and a whole new design language that put the artists at the center of it all – we called it art-vertising and embraced the unexplainable. Anything and everything became our advertising canvas. This positioning not only defined the date on the calendar (which is key to drive sales) but it granted absolute permission for the artists and audiences alike to accept the madness. The campaign asked the city of Melbourne to embrace our anything goes attitude for the duration of the festival - exactly 2.5 weeks. Viva the great art democracy!
