Royal Melbourne Zoo day Out 2020 - Melbourne Zoo Australia
Royal Melbourne Zoo day Out 2020 - Melbourne Zoo Australia
The (Royal Melbourne Zoo), commonly referred as the (Melbourne Zoo) and simply as the Zoo among locals, is a zoological park in Melbourne, Australia. It is located within Royal Park in Parkville, approximately 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) north of the centre of Melbourne. It is the primary zoo serving Melbourne. The zoo contains more than 320 animal species from Australia and around the world
Melbourne Zoo is Australia's oldest zoo and was modeled on London Zoo. The zoo was opened on 6 October 1862 at the Royal Park site of 55-acre (22 ha) on land donated by the City of Melbourne. Before this, animals were housed at the botanical gardens in Melbourne.
Initially the zoo was important for the acclimatisation of domestic animals recovering from their long trip to Australia. It was only with the appointment of Albert Alexander Cochrane Le Souef in 1870 that more exotic animals were procured for public display, and the gardens and picnic areas were developed.

Werribee Open Range Zoo is an African themed zoo in Werribee, about 32 kilometres (20 mi) south-west of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is part of the Zoological Parks and Gardens Board or 'Zoos Victoria' which also includes Melbourne Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary. It is situated on approximately 225 hectares (560 acres) and is located on the Werribee River in Werribee Park, adjacent to the Werribee Mansion. It was originally agistment land to the Melbourne Zoo. Visitors to the zoo can take a bus tour, which normally lasts 35–40 minutes, multiple times a day, and takes up to 140 people per bus. The tour includes animals such as the hippo as well as animals of the grassland, such as zebra, waterbuck, giraffe, ostrich and rhinoceros, as well as the camel and the oryx.
The zoo has a simulated African village, with educational and entertaining features, including a mock scenario of an African ranger and his adventures tracking lions, and an interactive soundscape walk with simulated lion sounds surrounding the walker. There are two independent trails that visitors may follow: the Pula Reserve Walking Trail which focuses on African animals, including lions, vervet monkeys, cheetahs and meerkats, and the Australian Journey Walk, which focuses on Australian animals, like the koala, emu and kangaroo as well as the cassowary.
There is a Learning Centre, which teaches more about the history and geography of animals in their environments.
Visitors can also book various 'specialty' tours, including the Off Road Safari, or close encounters with gorillas, servals or giraffe.

In April 2008 it was announced that a theme park known as African Safari World was proposed, by Warner Village Theme Parks to be built within the grounds of the zoo. On July 1, 2008 the proposed theme park plans were indefinitely postponed, the Government citing the potential $100 million cost to the taxpayer as the reason they were postponed.

MELBOURNE ZOO AUSTRALIA DJI OSMO POCKET 4K
MELBOURNE ZOO AUSTRALIA DJI OSMO POCKET 4K
Testing DJI Osmo Pocket camera for the first time on a very Bright sunny day around midday with High Light Contrasts walking around the Royal Melbourne Zoo making my way along the Cat Alley. This Footage is straight from the camera filmed in 4k 30 frames Auto settings with Follow mode on. I didnt pay extra attention to walking smoothly just normal steady pace. I believe better picture is achieved setting it to desired ISO and white balance under pro settings and filming either early morning or late afternoon with minimum contrasting shadows.
Anyway this was my first test of the camera and hope you find some parts of it interesting.

Top 5 places to visit in Melbourne | things to do in melbourne in 2018 | Melbourne Zoo 2018
5 Must See Melbourne Attractions | melbourne | melbourne australia | melbourne beach australia
1 Eureka Skydeck :-
Location: 7 Riverside Quay, Southbank, Melbourne, Victoria 3006
eureka skydeck opening hours melbourne - 10AM–10PM
As with many other towers located in cities throughout the world, Melbourne’s Eureka Skydeck 88 is a great “starting point” for a first-time visit by anyone to Melbourne that offers a quick way to get an idea of your bearings while taking in amazing views of the city and its surrounds from the vantage point of the 88th floor of Eureka Tower.
As the highest viewing platform in the entire southern hemisphere, the distance viewable from the top of the tower encompasses not only a 360 degree panorama of Melbourne and its landmarks such as the MCG, but also the picturesque ranges of the Dandenongs that stretch out in the distance.
Obviously when attending a viewing facility such as this the degree of impressiveness the on display is almost entirely dependent on the weather, so attempting to plan the trip up the tower in accordance with weather reports is generally a good idea as a rainy or highly overcast days can greatly restrict the distance of visibility.
2 St. Paul’s Cathedral
Location: Flinders Lane, Melbourne, VIC
Standing as a spectacular example of Gothic Revival style architecture, Melbourne’s St Paul’s Cathedral was constructed back in 1868 as a site of worship for members of the Catholic Archdiocese faith. The cathedral itself is huge and very well-maintained, emitting a feeling of inspiration that can only be truly described upon visiting, and is located in a convenient location close to the main Melbourne shopping districts as well as other landmarks such as Federation Square and Flinder’s Street Station (it’s right across the road, in fact).
Entrance to the cathedral is free and provides a spiritual, relaxing and visually impressive escape from the hustle and bustle of the city as well as welcome relief from the heat on a hot Summer day.
3 Werribee Open Range Zoo | melbourne florida zoo
Location: K Road, Melbourne, Victoria 3030 (30 Minutes South of Melbourne CBD)
Offering a unique wildlife experience that most other zoological facilities in Australia can not, Werribee Open Range Zoo is easily one of the best in the country and is based around the concept of emulating an authentic African savannah situated in a location just 30 minutes from the heart of Melbourne’s city centre.
4 City Circle Tram
Location: Melbourne CBD, Melbourne, Victoria
Operating within the Central Business District (CBD) of Melbourne, this FREE City Circle Tram service is one of the most convenient ways to see the city’s highlights and travel from one point to the next. With such essential Melbourne-area attractions accessible along its route as the Melbourne Aquarium, Old Melbourne Gaol, Federation Square, the Immigration Museum and more, easy access is provided for visitors to the city who may not have their own transport available.
The tram itself retains an old, vintage-style look that adds to the charm of the experience and the authenticity of the ride, while running in both directions at intervals of around ever 12 minutes between the hours of 10am and 6pm Sunday – Wednesday with extended hours available of 10am – 9pm from Thursday – Saturday.
5. Melbourne Zoo
Location: Elliot Ave, Parkville, Melbourne, Victoria 3052
One of the best wildlife facilities in Australia is within easy reach of the majority of accommodation in the Melbourne CBD – Melbourne Zoo. Standing as a world-class facility that is the result of both a huge amount of love and a large investment of money, Melbourne Zoo is spread out over a large distance so that the animals inside are provided with ample space in which to feel comfortable and move about, and is divided up into various “regions” of animals reflecting their worldwide location. Visiting the Zoo offers an opportunity to get back in touch with the many wonders of nature while being located only 4km from the Melbourne city centre.

The Melbourne Zoo is located in the city center and is home to more than 300 species from across the globe. The zoo is active in animal conservation and this message is brought across in the exhibits which try to recreate the animal's natural habitats. There are interactive exhibits for kids and many learning opportunities concerning conservation and how we can help. The zoo is also the site of the Zoological Gardens, a lush treasure trove of Victoria's indigenous plants and trees.
Some of the zoo highlights include the Growing Wild exhibit. This is an interactive area for kids where 3 to 8 year olds can climb through Meerkat burrows and enter a Giant Tortoise shell. The Keeper Kids program introduces kids to life as an animal keeper in the zoo. In the Butterfly House you are surrounded by lush vegetation and among hundreds of butterflies. The Trail of the Elephants takes you through a recreated Asian village to meet the zoo's five Asian elephants. The Orang-utan Sanctuary takes you up to the treetop homes of these primates where you can watch them up close. The zoo has a section for water animals, the Wild Sea exhibit where you can see water animals from the region. On Lemur Island you can walk along the boardwalk to the Lemur tree house and go into a rainforest tunnel.
Other sections of the zoo include the Australian Outback where you can see Australian animals; the Great Flight Aviary, a free-flying enclose which visitors walk through and encounter birds from three different bioregions of Australia; Savannah; Lion Park; Reptile House; African Rainforest and Small Cat Alley. The zoo has several eateries and beautiful natural surroundings.
