Come say hi - Melrose SA Land Rover Show
Hi Folks… Easter is coming. That means two things: you should already been preparing your truck for the break and it’s the Land Rover Register of South Australia – Land Rover Show 2016. Situated at the delightful Melrose Showgrounds – the heart of the southern Flinders Rangers, this year along with a host of other sponsors and exhibitors… APT will be there. For the show we’ll have our trust 110, product to handle and purchase on the day and a friendly face to answer questions. We’ll also be doing freight on all the prepaid orders to be collected at the show. The action doesn’t stop there. This show is so well organised so that you can participate in competitions and events, raffles and driving events. We’ll also be surrounded by loads of much loved land Rovers and spoilt for choice by the Sponsors and exhibitors. Best of all you’ll be outside having a great time with a great community. Folks I’m Ben from APT we look forward to seeing you at the show.

Group of Retirees who meet regularly take a muddy ride in the Hills around Adelaide South Australi
Ride to Quorn via Port Germain Gorge, Horrocks Pass and Flinders Ranges Way (Pichi Richi Pass)
Pichi Richi Pass is located between Stirling North, just south of Port Augusta, and Quorn in South Australia’s lower Flinders Ranges.
It’s only a short ride of around 20 minutes but well worth it. An ideal ride whether you ride a cruiser or a sports bike. The views I could only describe as rustic outback and full of colour in the right seasons. If you’re lucky you may even get to ride alongside one of the steam trains from the Pichi Richi Railway which weaves back and forth across the Flinders Ranges Way.
The only down side is that it will take 3 hours to get there from Adelaide using the highway, so those soft sports tyres will have a perfect flat spot.
Of course if touring is your pleasure then heading up through Clare to Wilmington will make for a good ride. From Wilmington you could go straight on to Quorn, but as the best riding roads are not always the quickest I’d recommend heading to the National Highway via Horrocks Pass. You might enjoy this as much as Pichi Richi or even more.
We decided to head back to Highway One through Crystal Brook so we could give Port Germain Gorge a go. Even though it's a bumpy ride and subject to rock slides it's well worth it. Heading in from the highway the corners open up making the ride a lot more pleasant than the return leg, although there is nothing wrong with taking on a challenge, so give it a go. Oh! remember to soften up that hard sports suspension before you leave. Also a good rule of thumb is to be off the road well before dusk as to avoid kangaroos.
