The first recorded owner of the estate was Robert de S--------d, although there is evidence of occupation on the site since the Roman period. it was built by the Booth family in the early 16th century and demolished in the early 19th century.
The present Grade II* listed hall was designed by James Paine for the Revd. John Bacon in the early 1770s. It was bought in the late 1700s by Sir William Fowle Middleton, 1st Baronet, whose son and heir, Sir William Fowle Middleton, 2nd Baronet, commissioned architect John Gandy-Deering to remodel it in the early 1830s. There was further remodelling of the building for Sir William between 1849 and 1855 by Sir Charles Barry, who also created the terraced gardens. Paine's central block was built in 3 storeys with a 5 bay frontage, to which Gandy-Deering added 3 further bays to either side. The whole is constructed of Gault brick with dressings of limestone and stucco.[1] The parkland was styled by Humphry Repton and still retains the deer park and walled garden.
Memorial to Sir William Fowle Middleton, 2nd Baronet, in All Saints Church, Crowfield,
After Sir William's death in 1860, the property passed to his cousin Sir George Nathaniel Broke Middleton, and from him in 1882 to his niece Jane Anne Broke, eldest daughter of Captain Charles Acton Vere-Broke, and her husband James S------z, 4th Baron de S------z. The Hall was used as a convalescent home during the First World War and the Old Hall as a brigade HQ during the Second World War. In the 1960s, the 6th Baron de S------z established a health clinic in the property which continued in the time of the 7th Baron.[3]
S--------d Hall Health Clinic operated in the hall adjoining S--------d Park Gardens until 2 April 2006, when the S--------d estate, totalling some 1,300 acres (5.3 km2), was put up for sale with an asking price of £23 million.[4] Until then the Italian style gardens which include Grade II listed features were open to the public as a visitor attraction.[5] It also featured in the James Bond film Never Say Never Again.[6]
In 2010, the estate was sold in 42 separate lots.[7] As of 2012, the Hall itself was used as residential quarters for the private higher education establishment, the British Institute of Technology & E-commerce (BITE) but in 2014 was re-opened as the luxury 7th Star Boutique Health and Hotel.[8] In 2015, the Hall was advertised for sale at an asking price of £6,500,000.[9]

Robinson Cleaver Live At the Regal Edmonton Christie
Robinson Cleaver Plays the Christie Organ in the Regal Edmonton London live. I always liked and admired Robinson Cleaver's style of playing a very fine theatre organist. I was lucky to hear him play the Christie organ in the Astra Llandudno many years ago. The Regal Christie Organ was removed from the Regal Edmonton and in the 1980s was installed by the ATOS London Chapter headed by Les Rawle in the Memorial Hall in Barry South Wales. I went to Barry to hear this organ a few times. When it had to be removed from this location in Barry South Wales Paul Kirner brought the organ and has since totally restored the organ and has now installed the organ in his Music Palace YNYSHIR Porth Rhonda South Wales CF39 0EW. Where it looks and sounds amazing. The Organ is a 4 manual console and has 15 Ranks of pipes. The console was rebuilt in 1947 by Wurlitzer UK And looks very much like a Granada Style Wurlitzer Console. But is still, in fact, the Christie pipework.

Places to see in ( Todmorden - UK )
Todmorden is a market town and civil parish in the Upper Calder Valley in Calderdale, West Yorkshire, England. Todmorden is 17 miles from Manchester. Todmorden is at the confluence of three steep-sided Pennine valleys and is surrounded by moorlands with outcrops of sandblasted gritstone.
The historic boundary between Yorkshire and Lancashire is the River Calder and its tributary, the Walsden Water, which run through the town. The administrative border was altered by the Local Government Act 1888 placing the whole of the town within the West Riding. The town is served by Todmorden and Walsden railway stations.
Other villages and towns in the Upper Calder Valley include Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd. The territory of the civil parish of Todmorden also extends to cover Eastwood, Walsden, Cornholme, Mankinholes, Lumbutts, Robinwood, Lydgate, Portsmouth, Shade, Stansfield, Dobroyd, Ferney Lee, Gauxholme and Cross Stone.
Medieval Todmorden had consisted of the townships of Langfield and Stansfield in Yorkshire, and Todmorden/Walsden section of the greater township of Hundersfield in the Ancient Parish of Rochdale, Lancashire. The township of Todmorden and Walsden was created in 1801 by the union of the older villages of Todmorden and Walsden.
Todmorden has a Greek Revival town hall (built 1866–1875) which dominates the centre of the town. The building straddles the Walsden Water, a tributary of the River Calder, and was situated in both Lancashire and Yorkshire until the administrative county boundary was moved on 1 January 1888. Designed by John Gibson of Westminster, this imposing building has a northern end which is semi-circular.
Todmorden has the look of a Victorian mill town. Other notable buildings include Dobroyd Castle (completed in 1869), now used as a residential activity centre for schoolchildren; the Edwardian Hippodrome Theatre, and the Grade I listed Todmorden Unitarian Church (built 1865–1869). Dobroyd Castle, the town hall and the Unitarian church were all built at the behest of John Fielden and his sons and designed by John Gibson, who had been a member of Charles Barry's team at the Houses of Parliament. Pre-Victorian buildings include two 18th century pubs; Todmorden Old Hall, a Grade II* listed manor house (Elizabethan) in the centre of town, and St. Mary's Church which dates from 1476.
Todmorden is situated alongside the Pennine Way, Pennine Bridleway, Mary Towneley Loop and Calderdale Way and is popular for outdoor activities such as walking, fell running, mountain biking and bouldering. Its attractions include canals and locks, a park containing a sports centre, an outdoor skateboard park, tennis courts, a golf course, an aquarium/reptile house and a cricket ground. There are wooded areas around the town and cafés and restaurants. The Hippodrome Theatre shows films as well as putting on live performances. The town has a small toy and model museum, a library and a tourist information centre, along with independent retailers. Annual events include a carnival, agricultural show, beer festival, music festival and the traditional Easter Pace Egg plays.
Centre Vale Park in Todmorden is the setting for several pieces of local art, including tree carvings by the sculptor John Adamson. Also in the park are the reconstructed remains of Centre Vale Mansion, next to Todmorden War Memorial in the Garden of Remembrance, and nearby there is a sculpture of a dog. This was sculpted by local sculptor David Wynne in 2005, and was cast in steel at the local Todmorden foundry Weir Minerals.
( Todmorden - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Todmorden . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Todmorden - UK

Summary:
It was quite appropriate that when the house lights dimmed during The Monkees' 2001 tour, the fans heard first - above their screams - a taped recording of The Beatles singing Boy, you've got to carry that weight, carry that weight... Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones and Peter Tork have indeed carried the weight of being The Monkees - but overwhelmingly as a delight and a privilege rather than a burden. We've been fortunate, notes Dolenz. Every time we've gone out there's just been this incredible reaction. Usually there's a high demand for the act, and it's always been successful. Tork credits the songs. Jones says it's the chemistry. Ultimately, The Monkees enjoy a kind of iconic pop culture status both because of and in spite of the unusual and even existential way the group came to be.
The Monkees didn't form; the band was made - in this case for an American TV show inspired by The Beatles' film A Hard Day's Night. Madness!! is what the 1965 audition notice promised, and the hundreds who turned out included future rock heroes Stephen Stills and Three Dog Night's Danny Hutton. But the show's producers ultimately chose two seasoned actors (Jones and Dolenz) and two musicians (Tork and Mike Nesmith) to portray their madcap rock 'n' roll band struggling to make it big.
We were a television show first and then became a rock group. I was an actor playing a musician, says Dolenz, who had never played drums before being handed a pair of sticks that his Monkees character would use. But Jones notes, The music from the show was such a hit that eventually we had to get out there and be the group we were pretending to be.
Saying The Monkees were successful during 1966-1969 is a dramatic understatement. There were points during that time when, despite the ire of rock 'n' roll hipsters, the so-called pre-fab four outsold their Liverpudlian predecessors - who, by the way, were always gracious towards Dolenz, Jones, Nesmith and Tork, and even hosted a particularly raucous party for the quartet when they played in England during 1967. And with top-shelf songwriters (Neil Diamond, Carole King and Gerry Goffin, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weill, Lieber & Stoller, Paul Williams, Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart) delivering a string of hits such as Last Train to Clarksville, Pleasant Valley Sunday, I'm a Believer, (I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone, Daydream Believer and more, The Monkees were as dominant a presence as any other band at the time.
The TV show ended in 1968, and The Monkees were finished by 1970, following the trippily entertaining but commercially disastrous film Head, which was co-written with Jack Nicholson. But Monkeemania would not lie dormant. Fueled by MTV's embrace of the old TV episodes, Dolenz, Jones and Tork regrouped during 1986 and became the hottest ticket of the summer; they've continued to tour and occasionally record ever since. And Nesmith, who's largely demurred from the reunions to concentrate on his film and video work, did rejoin his mates during 1996 for an album, Justus, TV movie and British tour.
U.K. punk legends The Sex Pistols once covered (I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone, and in 2000 the Neil Diamond-penned I'm a Believer was delivered by Smash Mouth for one of the year's biggest films, Shrek. And it will all go on, because it seems that audiences are still finding plenty of fun in the barrels full of Monkees music. We get six-and eight-year-old kids and grandparents coming to our shows, Tork says. We're proud of that range. We feel it's not nostalgia so much as its longevity. The payoff, Jones says, is the reaction. There are so many hits, and when you sing them you can see how much they mean to people. That's a gift that you can never, ever take lightly, or for granted.''

Charterhouse Demolition - August 6, 2018
In gathered worship on Sunday, August 5th 2018, the congregation of Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church gave thanks to God for the story of Charterhouse. The building was named after a London school John Wesley (the founder of the Methodist movement) attended as a child. Built in 1961, this building served as an educational building for Gobin until 1983, when it was sold to DePauw University. We are thankful for this piece of our heritage, and praise God for the faithfulness of all those who have gone before us. We look with hope and excitement to the future!

Shirley Bassey - GOLDFINGER (1998 Live In Egypt)
1998 (Egypt Concert for Charity)
Shirley recorded two versions of this song. She recorded the soundtrack to the movie, 'Goldfinger' and then she recorded a version to be sold as a 'single.' Both versions are superb, but I believe she holds that big last note longer here, on the 'Single' version! Simply amazing! And, based on the length of this last note it most likely was during the recording of this version where John Barry kept telling Shirley to 'hold it,,,,hold it,,,,hold it' until as Shirley says, I almost passed out!
ABOUT the song, Goldfinger:
Goldfinger was the title song from the 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger. Composed by John Barry and with lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, the song was performed by Shirley Bassey for the film's opening and closing title sequences, as well as the soundtrack album release. The single release of the song gave Bassey her only Billboard Hot 100 top ten hit, peaking at number eight; in the United Kingdom, the single reached #21. In 2008, the single was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
Upon being asked to create a theme song for the film-in-progress, Bricusse and Newley looked at each other instantly and sang out, Goldfinger . . . wider than a mile, reprising Moon River, the successful theme song from Breakfast at Tiffany's. Originally, Newley recorded the song, but it was re-recorded by Bassey with George Martin and Jimmy Page as a session guitarist. Newley's version was later released in 1992 to mark the 30th Anniversary of James Bond on film, in a compilation collector's edition: The Best of Bond...James Bond.
The release on vinyl of Bassey's version sold more than a million copies in the United States (Guinness Book of Records)[citation needed], and it also reached number one on the Japanese charts and the top ten of many European countries. The song has become Bassey's theme song and she has performed it in most of her concerts since the 1960s, often as an opening number.
LYRICS:
Goldfinger
He's the man, the man with the Midas touch
A spider's touch
Such a cold finger
Beckons you to enter his web of sin
But don't go in
Golden words he will pour in your ear
But his lies can't disguise what you fear
For a golden girl knows when he's kissed her
It's the kiss of death ...
From Mister Goldfinger
Pretty girl, beware of his heart of gold
This heart is cold
Golden words he will pour in your ear
But his lies can't disguise what you fear
For a golden girl knows when he's kissed her
It's the kiss of death ...
From Mister Goldfinger
Pretty girl, beware of his heart of gold
This heart is cold
He loves only gold
Only gold
He loves gold
He loves only gold
Only gold
He loves gold

Medium, Derek Acorah Interview with TheSpiritGuides - 2013
Hello and welcome to the Spirit Guides.co.uk network radio show with your host, Mark Chatterton. Today we are pleased to welcome on the show Derek Acorah, one of Britain's best known mediums who is a well known face on TV. Derek has been practising as a medium for over forty years now and has become famous not just in the UK, but also in America, The Middle East and Australia, fronting such programmes as Most Haunted, Derek Acorah's Ghost Towns and Paranormal Egypt. He is also the author of several books on the paranormal detailing the many experiences he has had over the years. He is now currently touring the UK with his Eternal Spirits Tour and has kindly taken a break in the tour to talk to us today. So welcome to the Spirit Guides Radio show Derek.
You were born in Liverpool in 1950. Can you remember much about what it was like growing up there?
When you were a child you had your first psychic experience seeing the spirit of your grandfather. Can you tell us about that experience?
When you were you a teenager you became a professional footballer first with Wrexham FC and then with Liverpool FC. Did you think that you had made it in life and your life was all mapped out for you then?
Over the years you've become quite a well known face on television. Which do you prefer, doing the television programmes or being out on the road with your shows?
Of all the different TV shows you've done, which has been your most favourite?
I read in one of your books about a Spirit who had passed over and his wife had gone against his wishes and had him cremated when he wanted to be buried. So spirits know what's going on down here?
You also do a lot of work with animals. How do the spirits of animals differ from those of humans?
You're currently on tour all over Britain with your Eternal Spirits tour. How's that going?
There was a lot of talk last year about the year 2012 being a year of great change and many people believed 21st December 2012 was going to be a special day. Obviously its been and gone and we're now in the year 2013.
Do you see the future as one of hope or are we always going to be in a mess as some people would have us believe?
Finally, what are your future plans?
