Jacksonville is a large city in northeastern Florida where the St. John’s River meets the Atlantic Ocean. A regional business center, it has many museums and cultural offerings. Swimming and surfing are popular at nearby barrier island beaches such as Jacksonville Beach and Neptune Beach. Championship golf courses in the area include Ponte Vedra Beach’s TPC Sawgrass, headquarters of the PGA Tour.
Jacksonville is situated on the Atlantic coast of northeast Florida. It is the most populous city in the of Florida measured by the number of residents. But Jacksonville covers an enormous area, and is in fact the largest city in area in the continental United States. The city has a large area, but also has a low density rate. The metropolitan area extends beyond Duval County into Nassau, St. Johns, Baker and Clay counties and has a population of more than 1.25 million people. The city's metropolitan population is not the largest in Florida, it is exceeded by the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area, Tampa, and Orlando metro areas.
Jacksonville is widely known as a hard-working, blue-collar city. While a substantial portion of Jacksonville's economy is supported by both of its large U.S. Navy bases (Naval Air Station Jacksonville and Naval Station Mayport), it is also a hotbed for the banking, logistics, insurance, and healthcare sectors. The downtown skyline, notable for its bridges of various styles and colors, spans along the St. Johns River with a pedestrian river walk located on each bank. Although the bulk of Jacksonville's population is suburban in nature and spread throughout Duval County, renewed development efforts are currently underway in the urban core along with preservation efforts in its historic districts. Jacksonville is nicknamed JAX, or 'The Bold City'
At a whopping 840 sq miles, Jacksonville is the largest city by area in the contiguous United States and the most populous in Florida. The city sprawls along three meandering rivers, with sweeping bridges and twinkling city lights reflected in the water. A glut of high-rises, corporate HQs and chain hotels can make 'Jax' feel a little soulless, but patient exploration yields some interesting streets, curious characters and a Southern-fried, friendly heart.
The city's museums and restored historic districts are worth a wander if you have the time, and the Five Points and San Marco neighborhoods are charming, walkable areas lined with bistros, boutiques and bars. The Jacksonville area beaches – a world unto themselves – are 30 to 50 minutes' drive from the city, depending on traffic and where you're coming from.

Confederate Memorial Park, White Springs, Georgia, United States, North America
The Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) is an American non-profit and charitable organization of male descendants of Confederate veterans headquartered at the Elm Springs in Columbia, Tennessee. It is mostly known for erecting and maintaining American Civil War memorials and graves, observing Confederate Memorial Day, and encouraging Southern historical study. More recently, activists have placed new emphasis on the controversial right to display Confederate symbols in public. The organization was founded on July 1, 1896, at the City Auditorium in Richmond, Virginia, by R. E. Lee Camp, No. 1, Confederate Veterans. The objects and purpose of the Sons of Confederate Veterans is to encourage the preservation of history, perpetuate the hallowed memories of brave men, to assist in the observance of Confederate Memorial Day, to aid and support all members, and to perpetuate the record of the services of every Southern soldier.

Clark Lambros 7-21-32 of 3132 Lake Shore Blvd Marquette, Michigan, and 1445 Gulf of Mexico Drive C503 Longboat Key, Florida entered eternal life Friday evening, December 14, 2012 as a result of coronary heart disease. Tyrannical Jacksonville Sherriff Officers Triples Down On Their Stupidty Body Cam Footage
Officer James Jones
badge# 46915
Officers are under investigation. Click link below
We were on the bank of the St John's River in Memorial Park (Riverside neighborhood of Jacksonville FL). An Officer Jones of the Jacksonville Sheriff's office took the lead on these calls for service. He seemed very interested in the fact that the 3 responding officers were all veterans of the Armed Forces. Fitting considering the park is a Memorial to Veterans with a view of Naval Air Station Jacksonville. On the 1st pass, Officer Jones berates the open carry fisher-persons for not being veterans yet still enjoying the rights veterans secure. On the 2nd pass, Officer Jones requests ID to ensure two of us are not felons. He rudely orders eye contact and states he knows CWFL's are not required while fishing while declaring he will not be told how to do his job. On the 3rd pass to return our ID, he was also interested in my job title and supervisor's name. On the 4th pass when the officers return for a 2nd call of service, it did not seem important for the additional 3 open carrying fisher-persons to be ID checked. Weird. Officer Jones literally asked me if I was on the same team (audio obstructed by wind) to which I replied, Absolutely, and the team of citizens, and the Constitution.
As a final note, FWC officer(s) were seen driving by, but they did not exit their vehicle.

Dames Point Bridge | Aerial Drone Video | Jacksonville Video Production
The Dames Point Bridge in Jacksonville, FL is a Cable Stay Bridge constructed between 1985 - 1989. At two miles in length, the bridge is one of the largest cable stay bridges in the United states and utilizes over 20 miles of cables to support itself. The bridge connects the New Berlin and Arlington boroughs of Jacksonville and sees about 72,000 cars and trucks cross it daily.
The bridge is actually named Napoleon Bonaparte Broward Bridge after the former Florida Governor (1905-1909) and Duval County Sheriff Napoleon B. Broward. Broward county is also named after the same man. The bridge has become known as the Dames Point Bridge by locals. The monacker refers to the area it the span occupies which was once called Dames point named after Captian Charles Dames who used to moore his ships in the area for repairs and also build ships there.

Top 5 Most Famous Bridges In The United States You Absolutely Must See
Top 5 Most Famous Bridges In The United States You Absolutely Must See
Number 1 : The Brooklyn Bridge,
The Brooklyn Bridge, which was completed in 1883 and connects Manhattan and Brooklyn by spanning the East River in New York City, is arguably one of the most famous bridges in the eastern United States.
The Brooklyn Bridge is a suspension bridge that measures 5,988 feet long, and its longest span is 1,595 feet.
Number 2 : George Washington Bridge,
Another New York City bridge that is a must-see for all road travelers, the George Washington Bridge spans the Hudson River and connects New Jersey and the borough of Manhattan.
This bridge has a total length of 4,757 feet and a maximum single span of 3,609 feet.
Originally, when the double-decker suspension bridge opened in 1931, it had just 1 level. However, as the U.S. interstate system was being developed, a second level was added to the George Washington Bridge in 1962 and the bridge became part of Interstate 95, which connects Florida to Maine.
The last time I traveled over this bridge, which was in 2000, the World Trade Center and Empire State Building could be seen peeking over the Manhattan skyline to the east and south. The world’s largest free-flying American flag, measuring 90 feet long by 60 feet wide, now hangs off the George Washington Bridge in honor of 9/11.
Number 3 : Delaware Memorial Bridge,
Crossing the Delaware River and connecting Wilmington, Delaware to south New Jersey, the Delaware Memorial Bridge is another grand bridge that, like the George Washington Bridge, belongs to Interstate 95.
The Delaware Memorial Bridge was originally opened in 1951 as a single span, but in 1968 the current westbound span was completed. This steel suspension bridge has a maximum span of 2,150 feet and is 10,796 feet long.
Number 4 : The Chesapeake Bay Bridge,
The Chesapeake Bay Bridge was first built in 1952 and is also called William Preston Lane, Jr. Memorial Bridge, in honor of the man who served as Maryland’s governor when the span was originally dedicated.
The bridge connects the eastern and western shores of Maryland and was expanded in 1973, when the current westbound span was constructed.
The Chesapeake Bay Bridge, which is roughly 5 miles long and 186 feet at its highest point, has long been considered as one of the scariest bridges in the world. Why? When it storms there (and violent storms aren’t uncommon in eastern Maryland), it can be nearly impossible to see any land when you’re on top of the bridge! Thankfully, there is a Chesapeake Bay Bridge driving assistance service available for those with gephyrophobia – the fear of bridges.
Number 5 : Golden Gate Bridge,
If the Brooklyn Bridge is the most popular span on the East Coast, then the Golden Gate Bridge easily takes the top spot among the most famous bridges on the West Coast.
The Golden Gate Bridge was opened in 1937 and has been designated as one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
The main span of the bridge measures an impressive 4,200 feet and has the longest main span of any suspension bridge in the world until 1964.
One irony that many people note about the Golden Gate Bridge is that, despite its name, the bridge isn’t actually golden. Why’s that? The bridge spans the Golden Gate strait, which is a 1-mile wide channel between San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. For the record, the Golden Gate Bridge is painted in a color called International Orange.

Little Talbot Island State Park
Little Talbot Island State Park is a Florida State Park located on Little Talbot Island, 17 miles (27 km) northeast of Jacksonville on State Road A1A. The park covers the entire 2,500-acre (10 km2) island. Big Talbot Island State Park lies to the immediate north. The park contains maritime forests, dunes, and salt marshes on the western side of the island. Wild life includes river otters, marsh rabbits, bobcats, and a variety of native and migrating birds. Activities include camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, canoeing, nature watching and surfing. Erosion on Big Talbot Island, coupled with sand deposition on Little Talbot, have resulted in Little Talbot Island becoming the larger of the two Talbot Islands. The largest continuous section of the Machaba Balu Preserve lies just to the west of Little Talbot Island.
