Scott Fischer memorial
This memorial to Scott Fischer sits on an open plateau outside the village of Dughla in the Khumbu Valley, a day’s walk from Everest Base Camp.
Mt Everest Stone Memorial - Dughla, Solukhumbu, Nepal 2014
Between Dughla and Lobuche you reach the so-called Everest Stone Memorial, a memorial for the mountaineers who died at Mount Everest. May her dreams have come true, says the brass plate of a Japanese woman who hasn't made it down. The stone paintings of Scott Fischer and Rob Hall - the leaders of the 1996 disaster expedition - are also set up here. A very rare and thoughtful place. Committed on 31 March 2014.

Day 7 (Part 1) Dingboche to Memorial Ground at Thokla Pass - Everest Base Camp
Check out the whole Everest Base Camp Trekking playlist -
This is the 11th video out of a 22 Everest Base Camp trekking video series.
My very first authentic snow-in-the-background trekking experience. Started the journey by waking up to a white spectacle. It snowed throughout the night and covered all of Dingboche. The trek to Lobuche was about to get much more interesting. We started trekking slowly, leaving Dinboche behind, snapping memories and pictures of the town once hosted us.
The trek ahead of us was easy and flat for most of the time. Enjoyed the icy, crunchy steps that I had each time I landed my feet on the icy ground. View was awesome, as always - it's definitely a joy to anyone's eyes. We came to the small town of Thukla, to stop by for a short break and some refreshments. We saw a few dogs taking a nap around us and also a fellow trekker who apparently picked up an injured puppy and carried it all the way up to base camp. In the end of our trip, we found out that the authorities stopped him from proceeding at Lukla airport. Rumours say that he decided to take a long route back to Thamel, Kathmandu, on foot. If anybody has updates on this gentleman, please leave your comment.
Left Thukla town and moved onwards and after a certain point, there was a steep ascent to the next destination point - Thokla Pass' memorial ground. More commonly known as the Climber's Memorial, it hosts the most distinguished climbing greats such as Scott Fischer, Eve Girawong and many more. It's definitely was a humbling place to be, imagining the days they've been through.
Next video, I'll be covering Thokla's Pass memorial ground in greater details.
