T199 & T186 Peterborough To Pichi Richi Pass Summit 1970
T199 & T186 Peterborough To Pichi Richi Summit South Australia May 1970. An excursion using two narrow gauge T class steam locomotives. The line between Quorn and Port Augusta through Pichi Richi Pass was long closed when this film was made and the
narrow gauge lines radiating from Peterborough to Terowie, Port Pirie, Broken Hill, Quorn to Port Augusta, and Central Australia had been progressively replaced by standard gauge via other routes.
From Adelaide, the change to narrow from broad gauge was originally at Terowie. All the narrow gauge lines are now closed apart from the Quorn to Port Augusta section through Pichi Richi Pass which was progressively restored by, and is operated by the Pichi Richi Preservation Society.

RTM to South Australia 25 April 2013
The first of two RTM trips to SA using there Southern Aurora consist is seen heading between Mingary and Peterborough hauled by 4520 and 4306 on 25th April 2013.
We also see;
4SA8 Indian Pacific hauled by NR27, NR98 at Yunta.
1561 Bemax service hauled by NR91, NR119 at Yunta.
5455 loaded ore train hauled by NR115 at Mannahill.
3PG1 SCT hauled by SCT012, SCT014 at Dowds Hill near Peterborough.

Over the last week of June 2010, myself and a group of railfans stayed at the Mt Lofty station in the Adelaide Hills. No longer serving passengers, instead serving a new purpose as comfortable accomodation.
