INCREDIBLE morning at Lobuche, Nepal
This is just as we set off for our epic Everest Base Camp summit day. It snowed 2-3 inches overnight, making the scenery even better but the footing much worse.

Trekking in Nepal - Arun Valley Everest Base Camp Trek
The Arun Valley – Everest Base Camp Trek (EBC Trek) is a remote and rewarding trek to the Everest Base Camp starting in the subtropical low land or 'Tarai Region' of Nepal. The trek crosses the Mahabharat range and enjoys excellent views of Mount Kanchenjunga and the mighty Mount Everest as it enters the very heart of Eastern Nepal.
During The Arun Valley – Everest Base Camp Trek (EBC Trek), as we descend to the Arun River, our interest focuses on the people. Limbus, Rais were the earliest settlers, although now there are also many Chettris, Brahmins and Tibetans, living traditionally in medieval villages. Leaving the valley we have some challenging days as we will be using rarely trodden trails through some of Nepal's most beautiful forests.
The passes offer tremendous views of the Mera Peak and Chamlang standing as tall as 7,319 meters from the sea level. From this spectacular wilderness we enter the Dodh Kosi valley and head north to our final destination. We spend several day acclimatizing amongst the fabulous Khumbu Panoramas before trekking to the glaciers and peaks above base camp with their magnificent morning views of the summit of Mount Everest.
The Arun Valley – Everest Base Camp Trek (EBC Trek) offers a panorama that will live with you for the rest of your life; Mount Amadablam, Mount Taweche, Mount Pumori, Mount Nuptse, Mount Lothse and the mighty Mount Everest will all be within your sight and the view leaves most of the trekkers speechless for hours. In The Arun Valley – Everest Base Camp Trek (EBC Trek) we, your local outfitter in Nepal, bring the Himalayas right next to you so that you can experience the very best of trekking in Nepal.

Everest Base Camp via Gokyo Lake Trek Video
Gokyo Cho La Pass EBC Trek is one of the adventurous trekking trails of Khumbu region of Nepal. Cho La is a summit pass located at an elevation of 5420 metres in the northeastern part of Nepal. Dzongla and Thagnak villages lie to the east and west part of Cho La Pass respectively.
The Gokyo Cho La Pass Trekking combines the three trekking routes such as Gokyo Trek, Cho La Pass Trek and the Everest Base Camp Trek. These are the prime highlights of this trekking trail. The route is complemented by the Sherpa Villages, their cultures and the monasteries.
Cho La Pass Trek begins quickly after a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The trek goes along the Dudh Koshi Valley and takes you at the major homelands of Sherpa i.e. Namche Bazaar. This place is best for acclimatization due to the availability of facilities as equal as to the city area. It is best for exploring too.
The trek continues to Gokyo Valley by passing many settled Sherpa Villages through the forests of rhododendron and the birch. Gokyo is a small village, located 4750 metres above the sea level. It is considered as one of the highest settlement in Nepal and in the world.
Gokyo Ri hiking at an elevation of 5357 metres is amazing. It offers the wonderful views of glaciated Gokyo Lakes and the four tallest mountains in the world like Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Makalu (8,463 m) and the Mt. Cho Yo (8,201 m).
Then the trek ascends to Gorek Shep. It is a little bit challenging because you need to walk on the rocky and slippery moraines and cross the Cho La Pass. While crossing, the pass offers the majestic views of Cholatse peak, Lobuche and Ama dablam and other neighboring peaks.
The ascending to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar is also difficult, but our experienced trekking guides lead you in a very careful as well as in the easiest way. However, Everest Base Camp and the Kala Patthar show the extra-ordinary views of Mt. Everest and other snow capped peaks. It is truly remarkable.
Chola Pass Trek alone can be possible. But the trekker should know about the Gokyo Chola Pass Trek difficulty at first as the trail is quiet challenging. Rock fall is considered as danger while trekking even in good weather.
Rising Adventure has been organizing the Gokyo Cho La Pass EBC Trek since long years. If anyone has the strong desires to visit the Everest region, we fulfill your wants and wills on time. For more details, you can contact us at anytime.

Everest climbers trek from Shivalay to Bhandar, Nepal
Indian Army trekking form Shivalay to Bhandar during their expedition to Everest.
Indian Army added another feather to its cap in May 2001, when its mountaineers successfully scaled Mount Everest and put a record eight members and seven Sherpas on the summit. This is the largest number of summiteers on Mount Everest in an Indian expedition.
The mighty mountain ranges of the Himalayas have, over the centuries, inspired not only man's imagination and spiritual quest, but also his spirit of adventure. Mount Everest, the tallest of the peaks of the Himalayas as also the whole world, stood in its unattainable isolation for thousands of years, till Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary conquered it in 1953. Since then, at least a thousand climbers have set foot on it. That at least 200 have lost their lives while trying to scale the peak speaks of the infinite dangers involved in the task.
The Indian Army Mount Everest Expedition was flagged off by the Chief of the Army Staff on 1st March 2001 at New Delhi. It was led by Col. Krishan Kumar. After flagging off, the team moved to Nepal and after a long trek from Jiri, reached Base Camp of Everest on 3rd April 2001.
The stocking and establishment of various camps was completed by 10th May 2001 and summit attempts were planned for 14-15 May. However, bad weather forced the team to return to Base Camp from Camp-II. Weather remained bad for a few days. Finally on 19th May the team started from the Base Camp for their final attempt to reach the summit. On 20th May the first summit team reached Camp-HI and the next day they reached South Col around 1300 hours. The same night the summit attempt started. After making their way through severe winds and subfreezing conditions, the first party consisting of seven members and three Sherpas finally reached the summit of Everest on 23rd May between 0720 hours and 0845 hours. The second team comprising one member and four Sherpas left Camp-Ill around 0630 hours on 23rd May and reached the summit of Mount Everest around 0545 hours on 24th May 2001.
Smooth de-induction to the Base Camp was subsequently carried out wherein all the camps were closed. In keeping with the Indian Army's care and concern for the protection of the environment, all waste was brought down from the mountain.
