Exploring the Navagraha Temples. Thiruvenkadu - Lord Mercury Temple.
Welcome to the Thiruvenkadu Swetharanweshwarar temple. This power vertex is dedicated to Lord Budhan.
Lord Budhan who is also called Mercury is one of the chief dieties of Navagraha that rules your life. Budhans blessings are attributed to your intelluctual drive and the influence of knowledge that reflects upon you. He determines how you formulate ideas and share them with others. Your speech patterns, communication style, sense of humor, quickness of thought, presence of mind and so on are attributed to the position of Mercury according to your Birth Chart. In the infinite variety of life mercury determines your fascinations and your mind power. Mercury is influenced on how you think can steer your career path and help you excel.
Thiruvenkadu is the power vertex dedicate to mercury or Lord Budhan. There are other 3 chief dieties along with their shaktis. Lords vaitharaneshwarar and brahma Vidyambikai, aghora moorthi and goddess Durga, Lord Nataraja and Bhadrakali in this temple. Also 3 sacred ponds and 3 temple trees are dedicated to this temple representing each deities power. The Thiruvenkadu Budhan temple is around 3000 years old and holds an important legend that describes the importance and uniqueness of this power vertex.
Legends call that Lord Budhan was born as a transgender and he meditated on Lord Shiva to relieve him from that form. Lord Shiva pleased by Budhan's fervent prayers blessed him with the proper male form and also granted him the powers to rule the intellectual drive and wisdom of the mankind. Apart from the specialty and uniqueness dedicated to lord Budhan there are legends behind the other chief deities of the temple.
The legend behind swetharanweshwarar
Swetha Ketu, an eight year old boy and an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva was destined to die at the end of his eighth year. His stonge devotion made him bold and brave and he knew that the only way to escape from Lord Yama's noose was to cling to the Sivalingam. Yama tried throwing his noose around the boy's neck but happened to pull the Sivalingam along with the boy. Lord Shiva burst open his eye with anger and kicked Yama down to the floor. He commanded Yama not to touch Swethaketu and also blessed the boy that he will live long years. Yama went away crest fallen. Swethaketu then prayed to Lord Shiva more fervently than ever.
Lord Shiva is known to have performed his cosmic bliss or dance here. The 3 holy tanks here known as Agneetheertham, suryatheertham and Chandratheertham are believed to have been created out of the 3 drops which fell of Lord Shiva's eyes when he was dancing.
Aghoramoothi the second chief deity of the temple is said to be the furious form of lord Shiva. There is a great legend describing his form and purpose.
The Legend behind Aghoramoorthy
Maruthwasura, a demon deeply meditated on Lord Shiva to obtain his shoola or devine weapon. With the shoola he started tormenting the saints and the people in the village. Lord Shiva sent Nandi, the bull, his divine vehicle to fight the demon. In turn, the demon thrusted Nandi's body with the Shoola in five places and henceforth the idol of Nandi is seen with scars on its body in this temple.
An angry Shiva, not being able to withstand that Nandi was defeated opened his third eye and killed the demon and this is how the idol of Aghoramoorthi, a manifestation of Shiva's anger holds importance at thiruvankadu.
On worshipping Aghoramoorthi, the obstacles and struggles in one's life will be torn to pieces.
There is also a special sanctum dedicated to Lord Dakshinamoorthy in this temple. The posture of Dakshinamoorthy is very different and unique. He is seen sitting with his legs crossed. You could never see this posture in any other temple. it is said that lord Brahma, the creator attains salvation in Thiruvankadu hence, there is a Brahma Samadhi, a divine tombstone that is erected in this temple.
This special temple dedicated to Lord Budhan dates back to the Cholan era. Lord Budhan is appeased when you perform special poojas to him on Wednesdays. If your Birth Chart holds affliction of the planet Mercury you should choose to perform poojas and homas to Budhan at this most powerful vertex and also offer green clothes to him.
Maasimagam is a very special celebration at Thiruvankadu. The Thiruvankadu is also known as Aadichidambaram and it is believed that Chidambara rahasyam, the unreveiled secret of Chidambaram temple is a unique feature of this temple as well. A pilgrimage planned to this temple will shower your life with the grace of Lord Budhan. You will witness a divine and positive intervention taking away the misfortunes of your life and replacing it with abundant joy and prosperity.

Thanjavur Periyakovil | Volume 01 | Birhadeshwara Temple | Documentary By Vanu Parameshwar
Hey Guys, uttermost apologize if I gave any wrong info/ sound. Especially camera shaking literally annoying for me sorry for That.
Below the details.
The Brihadisvara temple - in the town of Thanjavur, 350km (220 miles) south-west of Chennai - is considered the finest example of southern Indian architecture.
R Nagasami, the state of Tamil Nadu government's retired director of archaeology, says it is not clear when work started on the attraction, which is better known as the Big Temple.
He adds: But we can definitely say it was completed in the year 1010. We made this conclusion from stone inscriptions.
Unlike other Hindu temples built during that period, this one was made using granite.
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, a major Hindu deity, it consists of 13 tiers, and its main tower soars majestically to a height of 60m (200ft).
The master designers built the hollow tower by interlocking stones without using any binding material.

Those worshipping in this temple will have the eternal happiness of total salvation. Hence the place came to be known as Karu Illai meaning that there would be no entering into a womb again. In course of time, it got changed as Karuveli which is also an apt name meaning that the place was a fence not allowing a further birth. The place is believed to help one to retain all his/her noble traits for ever and also reform him/her completely from previous wicket qualities. The Lord therefore is praised as Sarguna Nather. Sargunam-noble traits.

However, Dakshayani, daughter of Daksha and consort of Lord Shiva visited the Yagna though prevented by Lord. Daksha humiliated Her. Unable to bear the insult, Mother Dakshayani fell on the Yagna fire and ended Herself.
Lord Shiva flew into passion, came to the Yagna spot, carried the body of Dakshayani and began to dance. His furious dance shook all the worlds. People in all the worlds trembled. All went to Sri Narayana – Vishnu – and begged Him to quench the fury of Lord Shiva. Lord Narayana applied His discus, cut Dakshayani’s body to pieces which fell in 51 places and they became Maha Shakti Peetas. Lord Vishnu consoled Lord Shiva and said that she would be born as the daughter of Parvatha Raja on earth and that He would perform their wedding in Mount Kailash. Shiva-Parvathi marriage took place accordingly then.

How does the Hanging Pillar of India work? Anti-gravity? Levitation?

Hey guys, I am at Lepakshi temple in India, and I am gonna show you not just the mystery of the hanging pillar, but also show you exactly how it works. In this temple, you can see many people doing the same thing: Put a piece of cloth underneath and slide it around the other side, proving that the pillar is disconnected from the floor. This is considered one of the wonders of India, how did ancient people construct a huge pillar that defies gravity and is hanging in mid air?
These kind of mysteries always interest me, so I decided to visit the temple. Right from the start, I am fascinated by the carvings in this temple, like this cow for example, which shows multiple postures in the same sculpture. But that’s another video, so I end up at this hanging pillar which attracts thousands of tourists every day.
As you can see this is a huge block of granite around 20 feet tall, with brilliant carvings. Now, I just have to prove it to you that this pillar is disconnected from the floor. So, I ask this elderly couple who have come with a towel. Watch how they slide the towel on one side, and it goes all the way on the other side. This shows that ancient technology employed anti-gravity and levitation, because there is no way a 20 foot granite block which weighs many tons can hang in mid-air.
So, how does it actually work, and attract thousands of visitors every day? It works, because nobody is showing you the rest of the footage. We have dozens of videos of the this hanging pillar on YouTube, but nobody shows you what happens next: Here is what happens.
You can slide a piece of cloth through one end, but you cannot pull it out on the other end. If the pillar is completely disconnected from the floor, we should be able to pull the cloth on the other side. However, the cloth I slide is gonna get stuck in one of the corners. The pillar is not really hanging in mid air, because one of its corners is clearly resting on the floor, which is how it still stands. If you examine it closely, you can visually confirm this. The pillar does not employ anti-gravity or levitation.
So, did the ancient people create an imperfect pillar? Well it turns out that the British Government decided to do some repairs during pre-independence era, and attempted to remove the pillar. But they couldn’t, because it was fixed so perfectly, they could only dislodge it. They realized that removing this pillar is impossible, so they left it in this weird position. That is the true story behind this dislodged pillar. However, there is a bigger mystery in this temple, that needs to be decoded. Did Giants leave a footprint in this temple?
I am Praveen Mohan, Thanks a lot for watching, please subscribe to my channel, share this video, and I will talk to you soon.
