Bike Cam: Merri Creek Trail Bypass (Clifton Hill) | Cycling Melbourne
A cycle along the Merri Creek Trail bypass in Clifton Hill and looping back along the old path that forms part of the Capital City Trail.
The bypass allows greater accessible access to the pedestrian and bicycle trail network and promotes a more utilitarian approach to bicycling. It is unfortunate that the bypass is not signposted. I'm sure many are unsure of its existence or where it goes.
Recorded March 2019.

On an exceptionally deep block (200ft in the old scale), this grand Victorian presents an outstanding opportunity to renovate and extend (STCA) in one of inner-Melbourne's most exclusive neighbourhoods. Beyond its imposing Hawthorn-brick facade, the home's current floorplan boasts a wide central hallway accessing five spacious bedrooms, formal lounge and dining rooms - all with towering ceilings and ornate plaster details, plus functional bathroom, kitchen/meals area, study/storeroom and rear sunroom. Step outside to discover the home's most unique asset - a simply enormous backyard complete with numerous rustic outbuildings (workshop / storeroom / laundry / garage) and access to rear ROW. The makings of something truly spectacular, it offers instant access to Merri Creek parks and trails, Spensley Street Primary School, close to cafes and shops, Clifton Hill Station and Queens Parade trams. Land approx 667sqm. What an opportunity!

Magnificent Greater Melbourne Cycling Paths: East Link Trail from Ringwood to Carrum
This is the continuation of East Link Trail Documentation I did earlier in 2016 (see: ) and covers the south eastern segment of this extend trail. Starting in Ringwood & crossing the Maroondah Highway, the trail partly follows the M3 Freeway but also diverts into the the wetlands along the Dandenong Creek. There are numerous over- and underpasses, shorter climbs and descents. For the last 12km the track turns into a gravel path with Carrum Beach marking the end of the trail. It does not seem to be a popular / busy trail and although the extended stretches along the freeway can be a little dull, the diversions into the wetlands make the trail worth a visit. Note: the last stretch south of Dandenong can be a bit smelly as the trail passes the sewer fields, especially if easterly/southeasterly winds are prevailing.
