243. Flying from Kamloops to Logan Lake and Merritt via Hwy 97C, August 19, 2019
Another long distance flight (177 km) to explore Kamloops area beauty. Hwy 97C is going through beautiful valley when viewed from road or from the air. The flight was uneventful until Merritt at 3600' ASL while approaching the airport. I was met by serious turbulence in early morning sun heat. Original plan was to land at the Merritt airport, but the turbulence changed my mind to go up again and leave those conditions ASAP. The last leg to Kamloops was OK again. I was following Coquihalla Highway which is features on Discovery Channel as Highway Thru Hell, reality TV show.

South Cariboo Visitor Centre 2015
Geographically, the South Cariboo is found in southcentral British Columbia, nestled on the Fraser Plateau between the heights of the Coastal and Rocky mountain ranges. The Fraser River cuts through the middle of this rolling plateau, dividing the Cariboo from the wilds of the Chilcotin. To the south is the lower, drier hills of the Thompson-Okanagan, and to the north is the central Cariboo, extending into the vast forests of Northern BC.

Day Of Caring CMH Housing Project Logan Lake BC Aug 11-2012
Day of Caring Aug 11- 2012. Volunteers built raised beds, garden sheds, landscaped areas around the new Canadian Mental Health Seniors Complex in Logan Lake BC. The project was organized by the United Way TNC and sponsored by BCLC. Volunteers worked over a three day period and this video captured the Aug 11 final day.

Ocean swimming, fishing, boating and golf are located nearby. Indian Harbour Beach is just a short thirty-minute drive to Titusville and the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, the Astronaut Hall of Fame and the Canaveral National Seashore.

The Space Coast of Florida, which lies on the Central East Coast near the Kennedy Space Center, has a semi-tropical climate that becomes quite warm and humid during the months of June, July and August. Frequent showers and thunderstorms are generally local and short in duration. Large tropical storms can bring high winds and inundating rainfalls, but due to excellent weather forecasting, warning time can be up to a week. The coastal areas also offer daily breezes of adequate velocity that helps moderate temperatures. September and October remain warm, with September usually being the wettest month. November to February is relatively dry and sunny with pleasant daytime temperatures and cool nights. In the months of March to May the sun begins to climb higher in the sky again with warmer days and moderate rainfall.
The closest airports in the area are the Melbourne International airport (MLB) located about 4 miles southwest of Indian Harbour Beach in Melbourne, Florida, the Space Coast Regional airport (TIX) located approximately 28 miles northwest of Indian Harbour Beach in Titusville, Florida, the Vero Beach Municipal airport (VRB) located roughly 36 miles south of Indian Harbour Beach in Vero Beach, Florida, and finally the Orlando International airport (MCO) located around 47 miles northwest of Indian Harbour Beach in Orlando, Florida.
