Mesa Historical Museum
The Mesa Historical Museum - The museum's buildings are in fact the museum's largest artifacts. The main museum building was built in 1914 for use as the Lehi School. Learn the history of Jones Town, Lehi, and Mesa. Just across the street from the Museum was old Fort Utah, built to protect the people from the Apache Indians in the 1870's and 80's. This Museum is a must visit.

Overview of the Mesa Arts Center (Mesa, Arizona)
A look inside Arizona's largest comprehensive arts campus. A rare example of city government supporting the arts in an effort to build a fantastic community arts center.
The Mesa Arts Center, owned and operated by the City of Mesa, is a unique, architecturally stunning, international award winning facility located in the heart of downtown Mesa. Arizona's largest arts center is home to four theaters, five art galleries, and 14 art studios. Guests, patrons, and students come to Mesa Arts Center to enjoy the finest live entertainment and performances, world-class visual art exhibitions, and outstanding arts education classes. The facility is an architectural showpiece and a destination for visitors to the Phoenix area. The Mesa Arts Center mission is to inspire people through engaging arts experiences that are diverse, accessible, and relevant.
The Mesa Arts Center is a performing and visual arts complex in downtown Mesa, Arizona. At more than 210,000 square feet, the $95 million facility, completed in 2005, is the largest comprehensive arts campus in the state.
The Mesa Arts Center encompasses four performance venues, from the intimate 99-seat Farnsworth Studio Theater to the 1,600-seat Ikeda Theater. The center is also home to the Mesa Contemporary Arts, which houses five art galleries with 5,500 sq ft of exhibition space. The facility also features 14 unique visual and performing art classroom studios. Multi-use areas throughout the campus provide both indoor and outdoor gathering and presentation spaces.
The movement to construct the Mesa Arts Center was championed by Wayne Brown, who served as the Mayor of Mesa from 1996 to 2000. Under Brown, the city passed a quality-of-life bond issue in 1998 to help pay for the center.Though he left office in 2000, Brown and his wife, Kathy, continued a private fundraising campaign for the arts center. The couple ultimately raised more than $4.5 million from the private sector beginning in 2000.The Mesa Arts Center's sculpture courtyard is named for Wayne Brown.
The only other city in Central Arizona that is larger than Mesa is Phoenix. It is the 3rd largest city in Arizona, the 38th largest city in America and boasts a population of nearly 500,000.

Idea Museum for children in Mesa, Arizona
When we were thinking of places to go and things to do, the Idea Museum came to mind! ????
It's a great place to go in the Phoenix Valley to beat the heat! I like it because it is easy to get to, since it's close to several of the main highways in Mesa plus there is parking right next to the building. My kids liked it because there were activities the cover several ages, along with a toddler and baby area that is geared towards 4 and under. Remember to bring socks for that area, or buy some at their gift shop.
There are so many different areas and activities that we didn't get them all in our video. I can let my kids’ creativity take off with the many creating tables with scissors, glue and markers, big screens, tablets, and the Mad Hatter's Tea Party plus so many more. We even brought home some of their creations! ???? Our family had a fun time and my kids all say they want to go again!
???? Use my referral and get 60% off each Pogo Pass you buy, let them know I sent you by using my link or enter code POGOBLISS at checkout!

Arizona Museum of Natural History in Mesa, Arizona Birthday Trip
Places to see in ( Mesa - USA )
Places to see in ( Mesa - USA )
Mesa is a city just east of Phoenix, in Arizona. Mesa Grande Cultural Park is home to a giant, centuries-old ceremonial mound, and artifacts of the ancient Hohokam people. The Arizona Museum of Natural History exhibits dinosaur skeletons and archaeological finds. The nearby i.d.e.a. Museum offers hands-on artistic and scientific exhibits for kids. Mesa Arts Center presents theater, musicals and contemporary art.
Mesa is the third-largest city in Arizona, after Phoenix and Tucson, and the 36th-largest city in the US. The city is home to 439,041 people as of 2010 according to the Census Bureau. Mesa is home to numerous higher education facilities including the Polytechnic campus of Arizona State University.
Mesa employs a grid system for street numbering that is different from that used in Phoenix and other portions of the metropolitan area. Center Street, running north to south, bisects Mesa into eastern and western halves and serves as the east and west numbering point of origin within Mesa. Streets west of Center St., such as W. University Drive or W. Main St. are considered to be in West Mesa, whereas streets east of Center St., such as E. University or E. Main St., are considered to be in East Mesa Country Club Drive, running north to south and bisecting Mesa into east and west sections, is located 0.5 miles (800 m) west of Center St, and serves as the jurisdictional boundary between Arizona's 5th and 6th congressional districts.
Mesa was founded in January 1878 by Mormon (Latter-day Saint or LDS) pioneers and its population is still roughly one-tenth Mormon. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints operates one of its oldest temples in Mesa (the Mesa Arizona Temple), and the city is a hub for Latter-day Saints residing in the Phoenix Metro area. Mesa is one of the United States' fastest-growing cities, and currently ranks as the 37th-largest. 2006 Census Bureau estimates put the city's population at 460,155. The city has a larger population than better-known United States cities such as Cleveland, Miami, Minneapolis, Saint Louis, or Saint Paul.

Historic Mesa Home for sale on N Pasadena, Mesa AZ 85201
For more info and photos visit:
Welcome to Glenwood Wilbur historic district and this 1920's Tudor revival! Cute curb appeal with green grass and quaint covered front entry. Enter through the freshly painted front door to coved ceilings, original wood flooring, decorative baseboard and custom window boxes in this spacious living space. Arched doorways adorn the entrance to the dining area with side exit to the exterior. The kitchen offers arched doorways, updated white cabinets, gas cook stove, can lighting, updated counters, tile flooring and a refrigerator. Bedroom 1 and 2 have original wood flooring throughout and bedroom 1 has direct access to the bathroom. Full bath boasts tub with jets, pedestal sink and lots of tile.
The spacious back yard offers, privacy, extra parking, new wood fence and an oversized true adobe 1 car garage with storage area. The Wilbur Street Historic District is a good example of the change that occurred in Mesa during the time it was established. Due to population needs, smaller more manageable lots were platted vs the large, high maintenance garden lots that were common in the original communities.
Back in the 1920's when this home was built, the Mesa Arizona Temple was the third largest LDS church and the largest outside of Utah. The Detroit Tigers, the early Cactus League, became the first Major League Baseball team to begin training in Arizona and the Alhambra Hotel was reconstructed from its 1893 build.
Downtown Mesa, less than a mile away, is bustling (with exciting growth on the horizon), but still offers that small town feel. Many new businesses have emerged like Cider Corps, Mezona Market and Worth Takeaway and old favorites like Queens Pizzeria, Nuthaporns Thai Cuisine, Mangos, The Mesa Arts Center, three museums and The Nile still remain after all these years. Enjoy this one-of-a-kind home in one of the most convenient and eclectic areas, minutes from the light rails and a variety of arts, music and delicious local fare.
