The Subway in Los Angeles, California 2018
The red and purple lines make up the subway of Los Angeles with a combined daily weekday ridership of 150,000. There are 16 stations in total with the two lines overlapping mostly in downtown Los Angeles. Since LA is low density and car oriented, its public transit system, especially the subway is not well developed (compared to cities around the world of similar population size: 4 million people); however, there are several plans to grow the network including a major purple line extension.

Los Angeles Metro: The Red Line Subway
Let's take a ride on the Los Angeles Metro's Red Line subway. We depart Union Station and travel into Hollywood, getting off at Hollywood/Vine. Here we'll see a number of trains arrive and depart before heading back to downtown. Nearing the end of our ride we'll get a rear-view of the subway tracks as the train makes its last few stops.
This video was filmed during my vacation in the Los Angeles area in October, 2014. Enjoy!

Welcome aboard the Metro A Line (Blue)! This train's final destination is Downtown Long Beach station.
Recently I had the chance to film out the 'railfan window' looking into the cab of the Nippon Sharyo P2020 LRV from the origination point of 7th Street/Metro Center to the train's final destination of Downtown Long Beach. The LightRail in Los Angeles, California 2018
The Los Angeles Metro Rail is an urban rail transportation system serving Los Angeles County, California. It connects with the Metro Busway bus rapid transit system (the Orange Line and Silver Line) and also with the Metrolink commuter rail system. Metro Rail, which had an average daily weekday ridership of 362,135 as of July 2016, is owned and operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) and started service in 1990. It has been extended significantly since that time and several further extensions are either in the works or being considered. ~Wikipedia

Pt. 5 of Attacked @The Metro Rail in Hollywood/L.A.,CA.
Well, finally we're filming in a safe atmosphere as intended. And these shops are exquisite down hurrr (here) in the Little Tokyo section of Downtown L.A. Just remember and please share this so we all may be on our toes, when sightseeing on vacation with friends and family. Oh, I forgave the woman in Pt, 1, that's just me elevating the love inside me.... PEACE!
Los Angeles: The Great American Transit Experiment
Los Angeles is in the midst of building an unprecedented number of rail transit projects. Some are slated for potentially high ridership parts of LA’s urban core. Others are more dubious.
Today, transit use is down. Bus ridership is falling sharply. Rail use is flat despite strong ridership on the Expo Line, the city’s newest rail transit. L.A. is taking steps to reorganize its bus routes, but needs a variety of major street and service policy changes to make buses more attractive.
Also missing in L.A. are efforts make the city more walkable and more dense that correspond in scale to the massive rail building program. The city and region also still heavily cater to cars when decisions about transportation priorities need to be made.
“What we as a region have not yet done is have the sort of political fights that really make a transit system effective. Which are not fights over money but fights over space,” says UCLA professor Mike Manville.
Pt. 2 of Attacked @The Metro Rail in Hollywood/L.A., CA.
I was filming my friend Paladin Harrington at The Metro Station in Hollywood, capturing all of the great designs it to complete such a great rail system. And some distraught woman tripped out..! Wow, what a risk we take, even when we're enjoying our lives, these days. Asuaalaamualaikum, PEACE...
