Metropolitan National Park - Panama
The Metropolitan National Park is a 232 hectares forest located in Panama City. It is the only protected area with tropical forest in Central America that is located within city boundaries. The Park became protected by law as of July 5th, 1985.This place is perfect for nature lovers as it offers several walking trails around the park for you to enjoy the great diversity of flora and fauna.
Some of the tree species that you can admire here are the wild cashew, luehea semannii, gumbo-limbo, guanacaste and yellow mombin between others.
Some of the birds nesting here are the broad-winged hawk, the orange-chinned parakeet, the dusky antbird and the blue-grey tanager, and some of the mammals living in this beautiful location are the brown-throated sloth, geoffroy's tamarin (Mono Titi) also known as the Panamanian, the white-nosed coati, the Central American agouti and four bats species.

SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go visit the The Panama Metro, which is a modern metropolitan rapid transit system in Panama City, Panama, It was inaugurated on April 5, 2014, and entered revenue service on April 6.
It was built to relieve the traffic congestion between the city and San Miguelito District, and it operates seven days a week and 365 days a year.
The Panama Metro is part of a major “National Master Plan” to improve transportation in Panama City and the west side of the country, which includes the construction of two more metro lines and a light rail line. It currently consists of one 15.8-kilometer (9.8 mi) line, serving fifteen stations.
Panama is a country on the isthmus linking Central and South America. The Panama Canal, a famous feat of human engineering, cuts through its center, linking the Atlantic and Pacific oceans to create an essential shipping route. In the capital, Panama City, modern skyscrapers, casinos and nightclubs contrast with colonial buildings in the Casco Viejo district and the rainforest of Natural Metropolitan Park.

Visit Panama: Walk in Baru National Park Boquete
Don't bother with a guide to see the famous Millenary Querus Trees in Baru National Park. Do it yourself. And, if not interested in 1,000-2,000 trees that managed to live through a volcanic eruption. Don't bother with the hike.
Monkeys, what I was looking for, are not common here! This is an after-the-fact told to me by guide, Ruben. Sigh...you win some, you lose some. By the way, Costa Rica is on the other side of Mount Baru.

Visiting Metropolitan Park - Panama City
I am a Brazilian guy living in Panama City and I wanted to visit somewhere people don't use to go. I don't like cliche stuff so I found Metropolitan Park could be a good destination to spend my Sunday.
I really enjoyed visiting it and I highly recommend it for everyone who lives or is a visitor to Panama.

Metropolitan Park is a wonderful park to get away from the city and spend a few hours wondering around the jungle on well-maintained paths with excellent views of the city. The afternoons can be hot and humid, so bring plenty of water. The vegetation is dense enough to keep the sun from being uncomfortable.
We visited in March, so things were a bit dry. I can imagine this park being quite the jewel after the rainy season.

In this video you will see: park and mountain views, Panama weekend ideas, the adorable little Panamanian town of Chicá (pronounced cheek-AH). Jessica didn't meet many expats here... aside from one peace corps volunteer...but the cool mountain climate and friendly locals (who LOVE their peace corps girl) are so appealing, this area might begin to draw more expats soon. Expats Phil and Sharon D. are building a B&B there (Jessica didn't get to meet them but will try to go back and check it out once built, the project is at least 75% done). Watch this space!

SUBSCRIBE: - Let's visit the wonderful Albrook Mall which is a large shopping mall and leisure complex located in Panama City, Panama. As of August 2015 it was the fourteenth largest mall in the world, the largest in the Americas and the largest shopping mall outside Asia.
The mall was opened in 2002 on the site of Fort Clayton, which had been a United States Air Force base in the former Panama Canal Zone. It is located beside the city's main bus station and the Marcos A. Gelabert domestic airport.
In March 2013, the mall contained 700 businesses, which received between 30,000 and 50,000 visitors per day. As of March 2016, approximately 25% of the visitors are foreigners. The mall provides employment for around 10,000 people. Businesses included cinemas, restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, travel agents, hairdressers, fitness centres, and children's play areas.
