A snorkel tour of the reef at The Cove, Cottesloe, Western Australia.
A gem of a place, easy accessible minutes west of the city of Perth.
Many different fish species can be found here right on the city's doorstep. A marine wonderland accessible to anyone with a mask and fins.

Fish species: mullet, tarwhine, western buffalo bream, silver drummer, striped trumpeter and one seriously chilled out sea lion.

Diving Trigg Blue Hole and around Trigg Island

On a beautiful and calm Perth morning we headed to Trigg beach to dive the infamous Trigg Blue Hole. Blue Hole is a channel at the edge of the Trigg Island reef platform. In rough surf the channel drains the platform and becomes a dangerous rip that has claimed the lives of a few people in recent history.

On a day with less than a metre of swell we dived the channel and followed it out to just west of Trigg Island. We found the terrain west of the island to be much more scenic than Blue Hole, with abundant swim throughs and mini canyons to explore.

For the audio I boosted the low and high frequencies so you can hear the low rumble of the waves and the clicking sounds from snapping shrimp, enjoy!

First time using the GoPro camera and apologise for my shaky hands.
Snorkelled in the morning when the tide was low. All reefs were just 20cm from the surface. There are more giant abalones in the outer reef but did not go there since this is my first video.
