Scope & Content: Reel 1 shows aerial views of the trenches and countryside in the Argonne sector; former German campsites and street scenes in Cunel, France; and ruined churches, railroad yards, and houses in Flirey, Nantillois, and Gercourt. Reel 2 shows demolished buildings and other debris in Nantillois, Montfaucon, Vaux, Brieulles, and Buzancy. French civilians celebrate in the streets of Brieulles. Shows German billets in Etraye. Reel 3 shows rubble in Malancourt, Avocoilrt, Nantillois, and Damvillers. Troops clear debris from streets in Lachaussee. Gen. Traub inspects barbed-wire defenses near Deuxnouds. Shows the entrance to Death Valley at Haumont; ruins in Nouat, Neuville, and Beaumont; a panorama of Woevre Plain near Combres; and Hindenberg Line defenses near Bethincourt. Reel 4, a rubbled home in Chaumont burns. Shows German emplacements in the Bois de Belleu; ruins of houses in Bernecourt; demolished bridges; water trucks in Brabant; and a chateau at Stenay, formerly hdqtrs. of the German Crown Prince.

During World War 1 (World War I, First World War) the U.S. Army 58th and 39th infantry regiments charge the enemy between Montfaucon and Nantillois in Meuse, France on September 28, 1918.

German shells burst in Nantillois. Generals. Hale, Brown, Richardson, and Sladen attend decoration ceremonies. 16th F. A. units pass through Cuisy and Malancourt. 58th and 77th F.A. units advance; the 77th F.A. fires guns. 39th and 58th Inf. troops advance under fire.

Nantillois is a small village in the northern part of France , on the outskirts of the first world war battlefield , and like all the other US memorials in the region , well kept by a special US commitee.

NANTILLOIS (55) est un village et une commune situés dans le canton MONTFAUCON-D’ARGONNE, dans le département Meuse et la région Lorraine. Ici repose les corps de 918 morts soldats allemands de la première Guerre mondiale. Les premières tombes viennent du début mars 1916 pendant les attaques allemandes sur Verdun et ceux de la rive ouest de la Meuse. Les enterrements ont pris fin en octobre 1918 avec la retraite des troupes allemandes sur des positions à la rive de l'est de la Meuse.

The Montfaucon American Monument in Montfaucon-Argonne, France commemorates the victory of the U.S. First Army in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive of the fall of 1918, which contributed to forcing Germans to sign the armistice of Nov. 11 that year. Tour of American WW I monuments, battlefields, and a cemetery in northeastern France
World War I Battle of Belleau Wood Centennial - Historian Mitchell Yockelson led a tour of American monuments, battlefields, and a cemetery in northeastern France to commemorate the centennial of several battles in May and June of 1918. The program began 60 miles from Paris at the Chateau-Thierry American Monument on a hill overlooking a small city of that name where American & French forces helped to stop a German offensive towards Paris. The tour continued a short distance away at Belleau Wood, where U.S. Marines fought Germans for three weeks. The program ended at the Aisne-Marne Cemetery, the final resting place of almost 2300 Americans who died in this region in 1918
