Driving into the Homestead Air Reserve Base in Florida
Driving into the United States Air Force Base just south of Miami under heavy guard with airmen holding machine guns as I drive past them to go to the Wings over Homestead Aor Show just south of Miami.
Homestead Air Reserve Base (ARB) (IATA: HST, ICAO: KHST, FAA LID: HST) is a United States Air Force base located approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) east-northeast of Homestead, Florida.
The host unit at Homestead is the 482d Fighter Wing (482 FW) assigned to the Air Force Reserve Command Tenth Air Force. The 482 FW is a fully combat-ready unit capable of providing F-16C multi-purpose fighter aircraft, along with mission ready pilots and support personnel, for short-notice worldwide deployment. The wing has more than 1,500 members, including approximately 1,200 reservists, of which 250 are full-time reservists, in addition to 300 full-time civilians.
Homestead ARB was established in 1942 as Homestead Army Airfield (AAF). After its destruction by Hurricane Andrew in August 1992, the base was taken off active status and rebuilt, reopening as an Air Force Reserve facility in 1994. The 482d Fighter Wing is commanded by Colonel Donald R. Lindberg.

Jessica's first Skydiving Jump!
Jessica's first Skydive! Out of Homestead Miami General Aviation Airport, FL on June 26, 2010. The beginning of the video is sooo funny because the crew and her instructor played a joke on her. When he showed up to greet her, he did so with VERY super duper thick eyeglasses on. The reaction on her face was truly priceless!!

*Who Am I:
I'm Carolena, a life hacker, living and traveling around the US in a Square Tear Drop and taking random international trips. Connecting with kindred spirits in an attempt to become a minimalist - a journey I decided to embark upon after losing my younger brother and mom to cancer. I never realized how much value we place on things until I tried to rid myself of mine. Needless to say, I'm failing miserably.
SO...after years of watching YouTube, I created this channel to share my journey to freedom from material possessions and cultural boxes to Live The Charmed Live we were created to live. #CoolCatsCharmedLife
I was born in Venezuela and moved to the United States at age 10. I learned to speak English in South Florida, attended law school in the Midwest, I spent the first 10 years of my career in Texas. I returned to Florida to be with my mom at the end of her life.

Can the Old Glider Guy Still Fly a Cessna? - Flight Review
The flying portion of a biennial flight review in a 1975 Cessna 172M out of Miami Executive Airport (KTMB Tamiami) with CFII Will Deveson. My first time flying an airplane in almost a year. Lots of little mistakes.
Years of flying only tailwheel and glider aircraft has made me less likely to keep the nose up when landing nose draggers. Not good. I plan on doing more 172 practice in coming months.
14 CFR § 61.56 - Flight review. (2) A review of those maneuvers and procedures that, at the discretion of the person giving the review, are necessary for the pilot to demonstrate the safe exercise of the privileges of the pilot certificate.

Chapter 10 4:05:57 - Exploration Updates
To fully explore and understand the ocean, we can no longer rely on a handful of large, expensive research vessels and vehicles. We truly need all hands on deck to do it.
On November 8-9, 2018, we brought together leaders and changemakers in ocean exploration, entertainment, recreation, and art to imagine new ways to empower an open, inclusive global community of ocean explorers. Our goal is to imagine creative ways to make the ocean so pervasive in modern culture that everyone has a positive association with and understanding of the sea.

F-22 Raptor Slides Backwards At 2015 Melbourne Air Show
Quite a feat of aerodynamic flight control as the Raptor flown by Captain John “Taboo” Cummings at the 2015 Melbourne Air Show, instead of stalling into an unrecoverable dive after all thrust is zeroed while in the vertical, slowly slides nose down into a new flight corridor and with twin Pratt & Whitney F119 engine restart jet-machs out to the horizon leaving nothing behind but a vapor trail.
