A Drive Up the Keweenaw Peninsula, to US 41's End, Copper Harbor
This drive takes you from Hancock, Michigan, through Calumet, up to Copper Harbor and the end of US 41 at the very end of the Keweenaw Peninsula. I made this drive several times, and sometimes it was raining, so I edited the pieces together to give you a complete drive with minimal distractions. Enjoy it!

I made this trip in October 2017. Video shot with a Brinno TLC-200 Pro time-lapse camera mounted on my roof with a homemade magnetic case. I travel with two Brinno cameras - one facing forward, the other in reverse. Sometimes the reverse camera captures better video (fewer raindrops and bugs hit the rear-view lens).

Eagle River, Cliff Drive, Calumet on the Keweenaw Peninsula
Here's a look at the scenic drive on M-26 and US 41 on the Keweenaw Peninsula. The drive begins at Eagle River, not long before sunset, and follows M-26 to US 41, but then detours on Cliff Drive. After Calumet, we follow some backroads before rejoining M-26 near Hubbell for the drive on into Hancock, Michigan.

Riding through Calumet Michigan
This was a very bustling town in its mining days. It almost became Michigan's state capital, since all the money was in the UP's copper mines. Taped by GoPro Hero 3.
Hancock, Michigan
The Michigan town of Hancock traces its roots to the establishment of the Quincy Mine in 1859 during the copper mining boom in the Keweenaw Peninsula. Home to Finlandia University, it is the hub of Finnish-American culture in the United States.

Detecting Copper on the Keweenaw Peninsula Michigan
Not intended for children. It finally warmed up and I was able to get out for awhile. This is a mine dump where one can find copper, silver, copper agates. The large rocks are crushed and the gravel used on the roads. I am still healing and had some trouble out there. Thanks for watching and please like, comment and subscribe.
