Lansing is the capital of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is located mostly in Ingham County, although portions of the city extend west into Eaton County and north into Clinton County. The 2010 Census placed the city's population at 114,297, making it the fifth largest city in Michigan. The population of its Metropolitan Statistical Area was 464,036, while the even larger Combined Statistical Area population, which includes Shiawassee County, was 534,684. It was named the new state capital of Michigan in 1847, ten years after its admittance as a state.
The Lansing Metropolitan Area, colloquially referred to as Mid-Michigan, is an important center for educational, cultural, governmental, commercial, and industrial functions. The area is home to two medical schools, one veterinary school, two nursing schools, two law schools—including Western Michigan University and Michigan State University—a Big Ten Conference university, the Michigan State Capitol, the state Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, a federal court, the Library of Michigan and Historical Center, and headquarters of four national insurance companies.

Sadly my video from last year, 6/2/2018 got messed up, but i welcome you to join me for my 6th time at the CATA Maintenance Facility for Lansing's 25th Be A Tourist In Your Town Event, and to see 7 out of CATA's 8 New Flyers from COTA, i've been told by surprise that we are getting 2 Gillig Low Floor 35' (G27B102N4) foot buses from COTA to replace the Trolleys for CATA's Grab'N'Go Express. I can't wait to see those.

CATABUS CNG Program
One of CATA's claims to fame is its nationally-recognized Clean Natural Gas Program. In 1993 CATA took steps to go green and by 2005 became the first transportation agency on the East Coast to have replaced its entire fleet with one that operates solely on clean compressed natural gas. This short video will show you more about the program and where CATA's heading in the future.

Mud Trucks Gone Wild - Michigan Mud Jam
Riding around Michigan Mud Jam was difficult at times with all the traffic, sometimes it was better to go on a walking adventure. It was dry for the First half of the day, then the Rain came through and got things a little wet and slippery. Rain makes more mud, and More mud means more fun. There was a Boat that someone made into a Mud truck along with a lot of other custom off road vehicles. We saw several Mustangs and go Carts and Lawn Tractors and All terrain vehicles.
