SUBSCRIBE: - Let's visit Micro Beach which is one of Saipan's more famous beaches. It sits adjacent to the American Memorial Park and boasts turquoise waters upon a fine white, sandy shore. Micro Beach is perhaps the most popular beach in Saipan and there are many picnic tables, a playground, and a softball field. Wind surfers take advantage of the calm waves and the steady wind. The Northern part of the beach is the site of an ancient Carolinian village. You can also see inside WW II Japanese bunkers that line the beach (shown in a different video).
Saipan is the largest of the Northern Mariana Islands, a U.S. commonwealth in the Western Pacific. It’s characterized by sandy shores and mountainous landscapes, and has several championship golf courses. Its highest point is 1,555-ft. Mt. Tapochau, a limestone peak at the island's center. Close to the northern tip, Japanese memorials mark Banzai Cliff and Suicide Cliff, sites from the 1944 Battle of Saipan.

Went to Saipan for 4 days this past Memorial Weekend. It's the island that saw a lot of action during WWII between the Japanese and Americans. It was interesting to see the remaining weaponry, tanks, and buildings strewn all over the island of that time, particularly, unprotected.

The Americans, however, decided to invade Saipan a few miles south of Garapan and this pillbox survived intact since it saw no action. We will go inside to view its architecture as well..
