Amazing humpback whale video Port Macquarie NSW Australia
Amazing humpback whale video. This video shows a hump back whale and its calf off the coast of Port Macquarie in NSW Austraila. I went along not sure if I would see anything as it was april which is the end of whale watching season. I was expecting to see a whale in the distance but couldn't believe it when the whale and its calf came right next to the boat. The crew played chill out ambience music which the whales appeared to react well to. warnocker.blogspot.com

New Shoalhaven offshore artificial reef deployed
The construction of the new Shoalhaven offshore artificial reef was completed in mid-January 2015, with 20 specially designed huge concrete artificial reef modules successfully lowered from a barge 30 metes to the sea floor, 4km east of Shoalhaven Heads. Each module stands 5 m high and weighs in excess of 20 tonnes.
Check out the coordinates for the reef:
The new Shoalhaven offshore artificial reef is designed to create the largest fishable area possible. There are five individual reef groups, each with 4 modules per group in it. By placing the groups approximately 50 metres from each other, fish will use the whole system as one large reef, meaning the areas between the modules and groups (and also just outside of the reef boundaries) will also produce good fishing! Although only very early days, cameras deployed by DPI in early February have captured images of yellowtail kingfish and amberjack already moving around the reef. Fishers have also reported yellowtail scad and slimy mackerel being observed on the reef.
The reef was constructed using funds from the NSW Recreational Fishing Trust.

Sydney Weekend Getaway | Nelson Bay | (2018)
Hey Angels!
I hope u enjoy and I wanna thank you in advance for watching this video!!!
Nelson Bay is a popular weekend getaway for Sydneysiders, it is located around 200kms from Sydney and is popular for amazing beaches, aquatic activities, sand dunes and a unique and small shell museum and few of its collection is about 200 years old. However we could not do activities as planned due to rains but were lucky enough to do something at least.
With 26 beautiful beaches, Port Stephens is perfect for a beach holiday. You’ll find plenty of soft sand, sheltered bays and surf breaks. Enjoy lovely strolls, glorious sunrises and majestic sunsets, and keep an eye out for the resident bottlenose dolphins frolicking in the sparkling blue marine park.
Swimming, snorkelling, surfing and fishing are popular water sports. There are surf schools, and you can also try sailing, parasailing, stand-up paddleboarding, jet-skiing and kayaking on the bay. Or join Port Stephens Mountain Bike Adventures on a guided tour and explore the picturesque coastline.
Shell museum is one of the three shops left in NSW it was opened in 1960s and and displays of rare and lovely shells, which is nearly around 33,000 shells for display.
If you do happen to visit Nelson Bay then this small museum/shop is must visit and trust me guys you will be amazed with the unique collection it has.

Lennox Head Little Ripper UAV Rescue January 18th 2018
Lennox Head on the NSW state’s Far North Coast made history on Thursday when it became the scene of a dramatic rescue involving the deployment of the Little Ripper UAV and Rescue Pod.
Lifeguards from the Australian Lifeguard Service were preparing for a training session to familiarise themselves with the UAV equipment that is forming a key part of a new partnership between the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) and Surf Life Saving NSW as part of the government’s $16 million shark mitigation strategy when a call came through of two distressed swimmers.
At about 11:30, two men were swimming in powerful surf conditions approximately a kilometre north of the patrolled area when a member of the public noticed that they were having difficulty in the 3 metre swell.
Lifeguard Supervisor Jai Sheridan, the 2017 NSW Lifeguard of the Year, was piloting the UAV at the time, immediately responded and was able to locate the swimmers within minutes of the initial alert.
In a world first real life situation, he dropped the rescue pod to the swimmers, who were able to cling onto it and make their own way to shore where they were met by lifeguards from Lennox Head who had raced to the scene in an ATV.
The pair were fortunately unharmed from their ordeal apart from showing signs of fatigue.
“The Little Ripper UAV certainly proved itself today it is an amazingly efficient piece of lifesaving equipment and a delight to fly,” said Jai Sheridan
“I was able to launch it, fly it to the location, and drop the pod all in about one to two minutes. On a normal day that would have taken our lifeguards a few minutes longer to reach the members of the public,” he said.
Westpac Little Ripper CEO, Mr. Eddie Bennet said this drone technology and payload ability has been 3 intensive years in development to enable this world first in a drone rescue that occurred today.
The Westpac Little Ripper’s rescue today of the 2 young swimmers, in the 3 metre dangerous swell, clearly illustrates the benefit of this cutting edge technology in such a time critical emergency situation. It works and Australia is leading the world in this technology, said Mr Bennet.
“The investment by Westpac in allowing the development of the Westpac Little Ripper, is the new generation of rescue services,” he said.
The NSW Department of Primary Industry were delighted that the UAV technology has proved itself in a rescue situation in addition to its function as a research tool to assist scientists researching marine activity off Northern NSW.
We are excited the technology was able to be put into action today and it's a great result following more than 18 months of trials that have explored how drones can be used for shark surveillance, said Department of Primary Industries Director of Fisheries Reasarch, Dr Natalie Moltschaniwskyj
The NSW Government has provided $430,000 in funding to Surf Life Saving NSW (SLS) for this project this summer.
Research conducted by DPI indicates drones will be an important tool for shark detection on our beaches, and it's great to see the benefits of our research working at Lennox Head today, Dr Moltschaniwskyj said.

New South Wales
New South Wales (abbreviated as NSW) is a state on the east coast of Australia. It borders Queensland to the north, Victoria to the south, South Australia to the west, the Tasman Sea to the east and surrounds the whole of the Australian Capital Territory. New South Wales' capital city is Sydney, which is also the nation's most populous city. In June 2013, the estimated population of New South Wales was 7.4 million, making it Australia's most populous state. Just under two-thirds of the state's population, 4.67 million, live in the Greater Sydney area. Inhabitants of New South Wales are referred to as New South Welshmen.
The colony of New South Wales was founded in 1788. It originally comprised a larger area of the Australian mainland also including Lord Howe Island, New Zealand, Norfolk Island and Van Diemen's Land. During the 19th century, large areas were separated to form the British colonies of Tasmania, South Australia, New Zealand, Victoria, Queensland and the Northern Territory (1863).

SUMMARY
=======
The maritime European exploration of Australia consisted of several waves of white European seafarers that sailed the edges of the Australian continent. Dutch navigators were the first Europeans known to have explored and mapped the Australian coastline. The first documented encounter was that of Dutch navigator Willem Janszoon, in 1606. Dutch seafarers also visited the west and north coasts of the continent, as did French explorers.
The most famous expedition was that of Royal Navy Lieutenant (later Captain) James Cook 164 years after Janszoon's sighting. After an assignment to make observations of the 1769 Venus Transit, Cook followed Admiralty instructions to explore the south Pacific for the reported Terra Australis and on 19 April 1770 sighted the south-eastern coast of Australia and became the first recorded European to explore the eastern coastline. Explorers by land and sea continued to survey the continent for some years after settlement.

Sydney ( (listen)) is the state capital of New South Wales and the most populous city in Australia and Oceania. Located on Australia's east coast, the metropolis surrounds Port Jackson and extends about 70 km (43.5 mi) on its periphery towards the Blue Mountains to the west, Hawkesbury to the north, and Macarthur to the south. Sydney is made up of 658 suburbs, 40 local government areas and 15 contiguous regions. Residents of the city are known as Sydneysiders. As of June 2017, Sydney's estimated metropolitan population was 5,131,326.Indigenous Australians have inhabited the Sydney area for at least 30,000 years, and it remains one of the richest in Australia in terms of Aboriginal archaeological sites, with thousands of engravings located throughout the region. In 1770, during his first Pacific voyage in the Endeavour, Lieutenant James Cook, after leaving Botany Bay, saw the entrance to Port Jackson, but sailed past and did not enter the inlet. In 1788, the First Fleet of convicts, led by Arthur Phillip, were the first recorded Europeans to sail into Port Jackson. Here they founded Sydney as a British penal colony, the first European settlement in Australia. Phillip named the city Sydney in recognition of Thomas Townshend, 1st Viscount Sydney. Penal transportation to New South Wales ended soon after Sydney was incorporated as a city in 1842. A gold rush occurred in the colony in 1851, and over the next century, Sydney transformed from a colonial outpost into a major global cultural and economic centre. After World War II, it experienced mass migration and became one of the most multicultural cities in the world. At the time of the 2011 census, more than 250 different languages were spoken in Sydney and about 40 percent of residents spoke a language other than English at home. Furthermore, 36% of the population reported having been born overseas.Despite being one of the most expensive cities in the world, the 2018 Mercer Quality of Living Survey ranks Sydney tenth in the world in terms of quality of living, making it one of the most livable cities. It is classified as an Alpha World City by Globalization and World Cities Research Network, indicating its influence in the region and throughout the world. Ranked eleventh in the world for economic opportunity, Sydney has an advanced market economy with strengths in finance, manufacturing and tourism. There is a significant concentration of foreign banks and multinational corporations in Sydney and the city is promoted as one of Asia Pacific's leading financial hubs. Established in 1850, the U ...

The second largest city in the state of NSW and sixth largest in Australia, Newcastle city had a population of 153,000 in 2008 and the suburban area had over 500,000. The city is the focal point for a diverse district that encompasses beaches and mountains, restaurants and wineries.
Newcastle is Australia's oldest sea port, currently the second most important in the country in terms of overall tonnage. It is also the world's largest coal exporter. The city of Newcastle is the hub for exploring the many activities and sights that surround the city. In the north is Stockton beach, miles and miles of uninhabited beaches that stretch up to Nelson bay. The wreck of the Sygna can be seen from Fort Scratchley, which was Newcastle's maritime defence during the world wars. Travel westward to the wineries and taste some of Australia's best wines. Barrington Tops National Park in the north west has beautiful fresh water rivers and rain forests, a good place to spot a platypus. Newcastle is a great place for surfers, wine buffs, bush walkers, and anyone interested in Australian history.

Unlike Sydney buses, Newcastle buses operate using time-based fares. You buy a ticket which is valid for 1hr, 4hrs or 24hrs. You can catch as many buses as you like until your ticket expires. If you are still on a bus when your ticket expires you can stay on that same bus for as long as you like but you can't board another bus. Most of the city's restaurants and cafés can be found along the two main eatery strips: Beaumont Street in Hamilton, and Darby Street in Cooks Hill. Newcastle holds a variety of cultural events and festivals.
The Newcastle Regional Show is held in the Newcastle Showground annually. There are a mixture of typical regional show elements such as woodchopping displays, showbags, rides and stalls and usually fireworks to complement the events in the main arena. The Mattara festival, founded in 1961, is the official festival of Newcastle with a more traditional 'country fair' type program that combines a parade, rides, sporting events, band competitions and portrait and landscape painting exhibitions. The islands at the geographic extremes of Oceania are Bonin Islands, a politically integral part of Japan; Hawaii, a state of the United States; Clipperton Island, a possession of France; the Juan Fernández Islands, belonging to Chile; and the Campbell Islands, belonging to New Zealand. Oceania has a diverse mix of economies from the highly developed and globally competitive financial markets of Australia and New Zealand, which rank high in quality of life and human development index, to the much less developed economies that belong to countries such as of Kiribati and Tuvalu, while also including medium-sized economies of Pacific islands such as Palau, Fiji and Tonga. The largest and most populous country in Oceania is Australia, with Sydney being the largest city of both Oceania and Australia. The first settlers of Australia, New Guinea, and the large islands just to the east arrived between 50,000 and 30,000 years ago. Oceania was first explored by Europeans from the 16th century onward. Portuguese navigators, between 1512 and 1526, reached the Tanimbar Islands, some of the Caroline Islands and west Papua New Guinea. On his first voyage in the 18th century, James Cook, who later arrived at the highly developed Hawaiian Islands, went to Tahiti and followed the east coast of Australia for the first time. The Pacific front saw major action during the Second World War, mainly between Allied powers the United States and Australia, and Axis power Japan.
The arrival of European settlers in subsequent centuries resulted in a significant alteration in the social and political landscape of Oceania. In more contemporary times there has been increasing discussion on national flags and a desire by some Oceanians to display their distinguishable and
individualistic identity. The rock art of Australian Aborigines is the longest continuously practiced artistic tradition in the world. Puncak Jaya in Papua is often considered the highest peak in Oceania. Most Oceanian countries have a parliamentary representative democratic multi-party system, with tourism being a large source of income for the Pacific Islands nations.

SUMMARY
=======
New South Wales (abbreviated as NSW) is a state on the east coast of Australia. It borders Queensland to the north, Victoria to the south, and South Australia to the west. Its coast borders the Tasman Sea to the east. The Australian Capital Territory is an enclave within the state. New South Wales' state capital is Sydney, which is also Australia's most populous city. In March 2018, the population of New South Wales was over 7.9 million, making it Australia's most populous state. Just under two-thirds of the state's population, 5.1 million, live in the Greater Sydney area. Inhabitants of New South Wales are referred to as New South Welshmen. The Colony of New South Wales was founded as a penal colony in 1788. It originally comprised more than half of the Australian mainland with its western boundary set at 129th meridian east in 1825. The colony also included the island territories of New Zealand, Van Diemen's Land, Lord Howe Island, and Norfolk Island. During the 19th century, most of the colony's area was detached to form separate British colonies that eventually became New Zealand and the various states and territories of Australia. However, the Swan River Colony has never been administered as part of New South Wales.
Lord Howe Island remains part of New South Wales, while Norfolk Island has become a federal territory, as have the areas now known as the Australian Capital Territory and the Jervis Bay Territory.
