Trail ride 300,Western Valley Road Little River,New Zealand 09-11-2013

Dam this 300 is like a mountain goat climbs wet slippery grass rock covered hillsides with ease,as long as you keep the revs down and use the awesome torque, have to say that the wet slippery grass rock covered down hills where very challenging with no engine braking all good though when the grass dried out. May need a heavier rear spring and a re-valve as I was casing out on stuff that the 525 would handle, I definitely notice the difference in weight between the 300 and 525 especially towards the end of the day in saying that, the 300 is aggressive in the way the power comes on where as the 525 is lazy in its power delivery. First time for this ride, hopefully it becomes an annual ride, fund raising for the Little River primary school.This is my 5th lap of 5 of a 38ish k loop 59 min to get around. First lap took about 1hr 15min to get around as it was so slippery with all the moisture on the grass the first decent hill climb seven odd minutes into the ride had a lot of guys getting stuck, there was a lot of rocks hidden in the grass, some bog holes a few goat tracks here and there, a challenging track. Thanks to the farmers and volunteers for organising a bloody good days riding.
