Middleton Railway - 'Last Coals to Leeds' Gala - Sunday 30th September 2018
Another new railway for me, with a visit to the Middleton Railway's 'Last Coals to Leeds' Gala. The gala would feature classes of locos that would've operated at the Middleton Broom Colliery up until 1968. The gala saw guest loco Austerity No 7 'Wimblebury' from the Foxfield Railway operating alongside the home fleet.
The full loco line up was:-

The Middleton Railway, Leeds - 11th August, 2010
The Middleton Steam Railway is the world's oldest continuously working railway. It was founded in 1758 and is now a heritage railway run by volunteers from The Middleton Railway Trust Ltd. The railway operates passenger services along 1 mile (1.6 km) of track between its headquarters at Moor Road, Hunslet, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England and Park Halt on the outskirts of Middleton Park. This video includes footage of diesel shunters moving along the track, and some images taken from the carriage on a journey from Moor Road Station to Middleton Park, as well as the diesel loco reversing around the carriages to reposition itself for the return journey. There are also images from within the engine shed / museum featuring a number of diesel and steam locos.
Middleton Railway 1989
A visit to the Middleton Railway in early 1989 saw 'John Blenkinsop' working the Moor Road - Park Halt service. Much of the infrastructure filmed that day has since been swept away by development of the facilities at Moor Road. The Balm Road Branch now has a new alignment and the lineside views have changed considerably.
