Baling Hay and a great Farm Equipment discovery in Alberta Canada
I was recently traveling through Alberta Canada and found this farm just by luck. A coworker and I was going south on the number 2 highway towards Calgary and spotted this Versatile 2145 tractor and baler working in the field. Then found a White 9700 combine, a Versatile 256 tractor and the Gehl 250 Box spreader in the yard.

Photography Road Trip in Saskatchewan
Our road trip around Saskatchewan continued on this episode as we made our way towards Cypress Hills Provincial Park. To get there, we took a road called Frenchman River Valley which ended up being a bit of an adventure. At one point, I was fairly sure that we weren't actually even on roads anymore and completely lost. But, we made it through despite my statement that that's not a road was still probably true.
We ended the day at Cypress Hills and some cool lake side views.

Cherry Orchards in Full Bloom
Mike Omeg's family has farmed in The Dalles, Oregon area for five generations. As Omeg explains in the video, at one time the farm was a diversified operation with cattle, wheat, and the big cash crop in the early 1900's: watermelons.
In order to remain economically viable as a business, the family has always prided itself on adapting quickly to changes in technology. In the last 15 years, Omeg's farm began planting new varieties of cherries from all over the world to extend the length of the harvest season, and reduce the risk of a single crop failure from inclement weather events. In addition, spreading out the harvest season using the same amount of land, allows the farm to employ 100 people instead of 600.
Mike Omeg, who was trained as an economist, and as a entomologist, returned to manage the farm when his parents retired 5 years ago.
Next episode, Mike Omeg talks more about the biggest challenge that he faces, the inadequate supply of farm labor.
