BASE jump down a Chinese sinkhole: Red Bull Air Force
Shane McConkey, Miles Daisher and Chuck Berry of the Red Bull Air Force recently pioneered their way into the heart of China. After months of negotiation, the government allowed the Red Bull Air Force and friends into their borders for a BASE jumping session at one of China's natural wonders, a giant cave depression. Although no professional camera crews were allowed to follow, we managed to give all the guys a few hand held cameras and a quick cinematography lesson on the way to the airport. We all think they did a bang-up job.

Thailand’s Temple on the Glass Cliff
Wat Pha Sorn Kaew offers a modern take on the Buddhist temple. Built in the early aughts, this peaceful place of worship—known as the Temple on the Glass Cliff in English—is most notable for its five white Buddhas. You can see them for miles around. They are nestled together in meditation poses, arranged in descending order from tallest to smallest. The striking figures sit atop a five-level pagoda shaped like a lotus flower and covered in colorful mosaic tiles, stones and pottery. See why this temple is worth the five-hour drive from Bangkok.

In the Samphran district of Thailand sits one of the country’s most spectacular Buddhist temples. CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Alex (Luke Ford) and his team discover the Emperor's tomb, along with several deadly booby traps.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The Fast and the Furious director Rob Cohen continues the tale set into motion by director Stephen Sommers with this globe-trotting adventure that finds explorer Rick O'Connell and son attempting to thwart a resurrected emperor's (Jet Li) plan to enslave the entire human race. It's been 2,000 years since China's merciless Emperor Han and his formidable army were entombed in terra cotta clay by a double-dealing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh), but now, after centuries in suspended animation, an ancient curse is about to be broken. Thanks to his childhood adventures alongside father Rick (Brendan Fraser) and mother Evelyn (Maria Bello), dashing young archeologist Alex O'Connell (Luke Ford) is more than familiar with the power of the supernatural. After he is tricked into awakening the dreaded emperor from his eternal slumber, however, the frightened young adventurer is forced to seek out the wisdom of his parents -- both of whom have had their fair share of experience battling the legions of the undead. Should the fierce monarch prove capable of awakening his powerful terra cotta army, his diabolical plan for world domination will finally be set into motion. Of course, the one factor that this emperor mummy failed to consider while solidifying his power-mad plans was the O'Connells, and before this battle is over, the monstrous monarch will be forced to contend with the one family that isn't frightened by a few rickety reanimated corpses.

Atuleer Village Southwest China's Sichuan province
In the mountains of southwest China's Sichuan province, children descend an 800-meter (half-mile) cliff on unsteady vine ladders to reach school. The two-hour trip is so demanding, they only return home twice a month.
Atule'er, a village of no more than 400 people, drew wide attention after the state-run Beijing News published a series of striking photos this week of 15 schoolchildren as young as 6 climbing the vine ladders --or sky ladders, as locals call them.
Photographer Chen Jie first heard about the village from friends, and when he learned the children would be coming home on May 14, he joined the climb, camera in hand, to capture the journey up 17 sky ladders along the rocky cliff face.

7. The Brosno Dragon
You will find Lake Brosno in the European region of Russia, located near the town of Andreapol. It has a depth of 141 feet or 43 meters, sizeable enough for a whole dragon to live there. The Brosno dragon of folklore is also called Brosnya. This monster looks like a dragon and breathes fire like a dragon, yet lives in an aquatic environment. Scientists theorize that the legend stems from a few hypotheses. One involves an alleged volcano that ejects water to the surface. Another states that hydrogen sulfide from the bottom of the lake causes the water to boil, making it seem like a body or head is below the surface.
6. All Hail The Otter King
Situated in a cemetery in Glenade, Ireland is a headstone. Etched onto this headstone is the claim that Dobhar-chú took the life of a local woman. The narrative dates back to the 17th century, to a woman named Grainne. Her husband heard her screams while she was near the Glenade Lough or lake. When he found her, she had already passed, though Dobhar-chú was still at the scene of the crime. Dobhar-chú means “water hound” though Irish folklore also calls this animal King Otter.
5. Steller’s Sea Ape
Naturalist Georg Wilhelm Steller claimed he found a similar creature to his sea lion in the Shumagin Islands of Alaska. He named this new animal Steller's sea ape. No one else has confirmed its existence. Steller noted this discovery in 1741 after a single 2-hour sighting. Like the sea lion, it inhabits the water and has fins, though the sea ape's tail is more like a shark's. The sea ape has no forefreet or forefins, and gray hair covers its body. Steller dubbed it the Simia marina. Dean Littlepage, a biographer, thinks that what Steller saw was most likely a juvenile Northern fur seal and not a new species.
4. The Champ of Champlain
Between Quebec, Canada and USA's Vermont and New York is Lake Champlain. It stretches for a length of 125 miles or 201 kilometers. In Lake Champlain freshwaters is what American folklore calls Champ or Champy. This water cryptid is classified as a sea serpent. People have spotted Champy for at least the past 300 years. The first European to see Champy was French cartographer Samuel de Champlain in 1609. Thanks to its rumored existence, it has drawn in an incredible amount of tourism for the area. There is even a Champ Day every first Saturday of August!
3. Into The Bottomless Pit
What dwells in a cave known as the Wonder Hole and The Bottomless Pit? Why, a cryptid, of course! One that is named Grootslang, Afrikaans, and Dutch for big snake. Grootslang is often depicted as a monstrous snake that has a resemblance to an elephant, too. According to the old tales, the gods split the Grootslang into two separate creatures: snakes and elephants. The gods decided to do this because they realized the Grootsland was too strong. In the culture of Benin, a country in West Africa, the Grootslang loves collecting gems. If you come across one, it may spare your life if you have jewelry to offer.
2. The Human Being
In Japanese, Ningen means human being. Japanese mythology states that NIngens are humanoid life-forms that walk the icy surfaces and swim the frigid waters of the Antarctic. Crew members aboard various sea vessels claimed to have seen Ningen and describe them to have a human shape with white as snow legs, arms, and hands. Other witnesses compare them to be closer to mermaids. In one account, members of a Japanese research ship thought they saw a submarine in the distance. Upon closer inspection, it seemed more like a living thing. The word of these coldwater dwellers rose to widespread knowledge after a Japanese paranormal magazine published an article about them in 2007. Most sightings occur during the nighttime, accounting for why there are not a lot of clear photos of these cryptids.
